We went to urban base after we saw a house for let. Granted the sales agent we met seemed nice enough and showed us around the house of interest. We let them know that we were interested and so the very long process of referencing started. Maybe because we have rented a private property for 23 years that we are slightly out of the loop of how things work now But don’t think this is fully the case when we have spoken to other people who have recently acquired homes for rent. The referencing went on for ages and was very complex and time-consuming. Urban base never seem to be happy with what they were getting. Even though from the outset, we let them know that we may need a guarantor due to our company going under during Covid, Which there are hundreds of thousands of people in the UK that are in the same boat that lost businesses during lockdown. every step we tried to take forwards was met with resilience from urban base and in the end when we were told we needed a guarantor my wife was taken into hospital very poorly and needed an operation. Urban base pretty much cancelled our account and kept our deposit even when being told that my wife had been so sick. I was quite shocked that a real estate agent would behave like this when we said we could get proof that my wife had been in hospital but they didn’t care and just kept our money. Absolutely shocking treatment for a family looking to rent a new home. They dragged their heels with the referencing and the moment we had an issue they close the account and kept our money. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Urban Base valued, listed and sold my property in 72 hours and the service was amazing from start to finish. Charlotte, who dealt with the sale, was always on hand to answer the phone and offer advice and was fantastic to deal with.

I was charged £5,00 for a brief phone call on their 0845 number. I contacted them, asking for an explanation before I wrote this review. They admitted it was a 'problem' and claimed they do not profit from it. They did not suggest refunding it. Who would want to do business with this crowd? I certainly won't. And neither should you.

We were shown around a property by Jan, there was a feeling of being rushed around the property and not viewed as potential valued buyers.

We had a very good experience with Urban Base. Our house sold at asking price within 72 hours of going on the market, and ongoing engagement the the agents was strong, timely and effective, both with this sale and our subsequent purchase. This in contrast to another Durham agent last year, who were supremely disinterested after they’d got us on the books and didn’t secure a sale in over three months. Urban Base cost a bit more than the cheapest you could find, but if you’re serious about moving rather than hanging around, it’s worth it.

I and my wife called them separately to arrange a viewing for a property in Durham. I called (five times until I reached to) them on a Friday morning to arrange a viewing. They got my details and told me to wait a call in the same afternoon. No one called me. The next day my wife tried to call them. Again after five or six tries, someone answered the phone. The lady clearly had no idea about the area nor property. She asked many questions until she was able to find the property. She got my wife's details and told her to wait a call later in the day. No one called. If you are thinking to use them, please try to phone their Durham branch and see how many times you need to call them until someone answers.

Absolutely horrendous experience. PLEASE please, do not rent property through them and do not let them manage the let of your property. They will lie, cheat, keep your money, put you off. If you DO decide to rent from them, ensure you have a very good property lawyer to advise you BEFORE you sign anything. I do not want anyone to suffer what we did at the hands of this dishonest, incompetent, unprofessional company. Terrible staff, dreadful attitude and outright liars. BE WARNED!

DO NOT rent a property from these people. I had a horrendous experience with them. Unfit property with serious and dangerous faults, and damage throughout the property and water coming through the roof, and broken boiler. They would not release us from the tenancy, despite the fact that the property was in a dangerous and unsafe condition with serious damage throughout. The had clearly not checked the property at all before letting it, and did not care. Their attitude was terrible. They kept all our money despite the fact we had to move in with family for several weeks and keep paying the rent to them. BE WARNED.
