From telling us that there was a shortage of 4 bedroom houses in LS15 and were very hopeful of selling ours quite quickly.Told us that we would have contact with one person throughout but there were at least four people informing people to deal with inquiries.I went round to the house ( it was vacant we had moved to our new home. ) To find a young man waiting outside one Saturday morning saying he had an appointment with the estate agent.The agent never showed up.When I asked the office about it they said they had No appointment listed for the house on the Saturday.Apparently this young man had booked it the previous Saturday and clearly it hadn’t been entered on the system.There we’re promises about ringing after viewings that never came .There weren’t that many viewings even after the house was reduced.All in all not impressed with the service from this firm.

I have a suspicion that William H Brown may engage in conditional selling (see Panaroma episode for more info).
Three times I told them that I wasn't interested in their marketing of additional services. Three times they rang me to try and offer me them (from very noisy and loud offices).
This is potentially undermining my confidence in the property I have made an offer on.
Update: ...their Seller had not instructed a solicitor on my active offer for almost three months... after my repeated chasing. This does not feel like a professional agency.

Earlier this year I was helping my brother purchase a property and found one for sale with this branch of william h brown. Unfortunately I have to say the experience of dealing with them was not pleasant at all. The staff member dealing with us had a very abrupt manor both on the phone and by email and did not show any good customer service skills at all. We were very quickly persistently asked to agree a completion date, even before we had had a survey done let alone had the report and managed to read through it. Once we had and realised there were issues we needed to have investigated by professional tradesmen we were met with every excuse imaginable not to be given an appointment. It was only when I mentioned the sale would not be going through without the checks being made that all of a sudden the very first appointment I had requested was suddenly available! We actually withdrew from the purchase due to the work that need to be done but if you are looking to sell your property I would definitely NOT recommend this estate agent. My brother has sinse bought a property through another local estate agent and the difference in service from them compared to William h brown was like night and day.

4 months on and the house is now sold. Dagnija Berzina was amazing, I called her a lot (!) during the process as there was some complications and she was always very helpful and professional. Would definetely recommend.

We had an excellent experience selling our home through William H Brown. The property sold quickly and even above asking price, with a buyer who had been properly vetted and was genuinely committed.
What really made the difference for us though was Orgeta. She was absolutely incredible from start to finish. Once we accepted an offer, Orgeta took over our sale and thank goodness she did. The process became extremely stressful due to legal complications and very poor solicitors, but Orgeta was our constant throughout. She went above and beyond every single day. By the end when things got really stressful and weren’t looking good, we spoke daily (often multiple times), and not once did she make us feel like a burden. She kept us updated on even the smallest developments and took so much of the pressure off our shoulders by chasing solicitors and keeping everything moving, all without ever being asked.
It genuinely felt like she cared as much about getting us into our new home as we did. Her dedication, professionalism, and empathy were beyond anything we expected. We truly believe we wouldn’t be in our new home today without her.
A special mention also to Georgie, who stepped in when Orgeta wasn’t available, she was also brilliant and made sure our case never missed a beat.

I listed the sale of my property with William H. Brown in December 2024 and following Dan’s advice used their panel solicitors Gilson Gray which, I was informed, would help to make the sale seamless. It was the worst decision I made! Having accepted an offer in February 2025 I ended up having to work alongside Georgie (Senior Sales Negotiator) to progress with my sale for a number of months. Georgie was fantastic and was very invested in ensuring my sale went through however I had to spend an inordinate time, energy and annual leave in order to manage Gilson Gray and my sale all whilst working a full time job myself. My sale was escalated to a Manager at Gilson Gray and the branch and area manager of William H. Brown had to be involved. I finally completed at the end of August 2025. The service Georgie provided was exceptional however whilst Gilson Gray are William H. Brown’s panel solicitor I would advise anyone against listing their property with them or use your own solicitor/conveyance and not be swayed to change your mind on this.

When asked for viewing, I was asked quite intrusive questions like my nationality and why I’m moving to the new city which I’ve never ever been asked before from other agents nor my other white friends have been asked such questions for just a viewing!!! Clearly they were racially profiling me! So I would avoid these estate agents!!

I sold the home of my deceased mother through William H Brown and although it was an emotional time, letting go of her home and also overseeing a sale from a long distance away, William H Brown supported me through the whole process, Although it wasn't an easy property to sell - we didn't get many viewings and even when we got a buyer the sale took a while to go through - throughout it all I felt well supported, particularly by Alona, who kept me up to date with very regular phone calls - often weekly. I always felt she really wanted to help sell this property and she was genuinely delighted once the sale finally went through!

Horrendous. Simply dreadful in all senses.
Agent booked several viewers at the same time regardless of the COVID guidance at the time (April). Ended up walking away after waiting outside for more than 15mins with no acknowledgement.
Pushy call centre and mortgage brokerage services.
Unable to unsubscribe from online service which was repeatedly sending me updates for somebody else’s property valuation.
Would not recommend to any one looking to buy or sell their property based on my recent experiences with this company.

I want to share my experience today from a first time buyer's perspective. Elliot Benson has shown an absolute professionalism throughout the whole experience. His patience, tenacity and expertise is second to none in this business. The whole process can be a bit daunting at first when there is a lot of information coming your way, but Elliot did an amazing job explaining the process and breaking it down into clear, easy to follow steps. I've had a lot of questions and luckily, he had a lot of patience and very open about everything. We've been in touch for about a year before we actually applied for a mortgage, absolutely impressed with their customer support and service. My situation wasn't completely straightforward, but I have found his competence and familiarity with the products and lenders to come in very handy. We have exchange contracts in less than 30 days. Some say that is impressive, but I'll let you to decide on that one.
Based on my experience, I would recommend his services to anyone who wishes to buy their next home. Let's not forget you're going to benefit from this partnership for life! Wow, absolutely amazing! Thank you for everything?

shocking and dreadful service. WHBrown were involved in my chain along with my agent and 2 others, all agents were freindly and proactive except WHbrown who never returned calls, when my agent did get to speak to them they were evasive and rude, it was almost like they did not want our chain to complete. My buyer who sold through them (and regrets it!) will be speaking to the industry regulators. I'm amazed to see positive reviews on here - although reading them closely I expect very much that they are fake!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! I had the worst experience EVER. The first time in 40 years i am moving house and they made the experience for me horrendous and stressful. I rang to enquire about a property.. I had to go through all my details and on numerous occasions after telling the girl i was a cash buyer.. she was pushing me and pushing me to speak to the mortgage advisor which i wasn't going to do as i explained i was buying full in cash when i said no she was extremely rude. A few days later i called the company back as i didn't get confirmation of my viewing. I spoke to a different lady who said that i wasn't on the system so she would register me now and book the viewing i then got a confirmation straight away. The property i went to view had been online for a couple of weeks but it was perfect for me. After my viewing i called back straight away to put an offer forward for full asking price. 2 days later i had a call back to say they had accepted another offer from a first time buyer with no chain and who was using the in house mortgage advisor. I never received any letter or email with confirmation of my offer... it made me feel as though they never put my offer forward at all!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO BUY OR SELL YOUR HOUSE... PUSHY & HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I made an offer on a property and received the worst service I could possibly imagine. I had to chase up the agent Elliot several times, he never called back with an update. After 2 weeks of waiting and little communication I then spoke to the manager Mr Temple, he apologised and we agreed on terms moving forward. He then broke the terms and didn’t stick to his end of the bargain. I then starting to chasing Mr Temple and Elliott, only to be told they were busy. I then withdrew my offer (with the receptionist) and no one called me to discuss the issues. All round terrible service and experience.

I am a first time buyer and didn’t really know the process of buying a house. I went to visit Elliott the Mortgage Advisor at the branch. He was extremely helpful and talked me through the whole process. Upon finding a house I called on Elliott to help me find a suitable mortgage. He was professional and helpful throughout the whole process. I would definitely recommend Elliott as he saved me a lot of stress and admin work especially since I am a first time buyer.

I stumbled across a property being advertised for sale by WH Brown by accident and I'm really glad I did. I have found the service superb from Elliott Benson from our initial meeting. He has been reassuring, a great support and quick to react to any issues that have arisen. At times I have found the journey overwhelming and I have had lots of questions that have always been answered in a timely and open manner by Elliott. He really knows his stuff as a Mortgage Services Consultant and exudes such confidence that you know things are being done in the right way. He is a little gem and a credit to WH Brown and I absolutely wouldn't hesitate in using his services again!

Appaling service from the start. 12 months and 4 collapsed sales later we are moving to another agent for hopefully a better experience - couldn't be much worse!. Poor or no communication, inconsistent messages, untruthful, incompetent and rude staff. Do not use if you actually want to sell your house.
