I am extremely disappointed with my experience renting through Winkworth. When I moved into my new flat, the agent failed to provide me with the gas card/key. I moved here from the US so I did not know that was something that I needed. As a result, my electricity was cut off for almost three days during my very first weekend in the property. I had no light, no heating, and no hot water for close to 72 hours.
What made the situation even worse was that I was unable to reach the agent or Winkworth the entire weekend. A neighbour gave me the landlord’s phone number, but the landlord said there was nothing he could do; the agent should've passed on the gas card. On the third day (Monday), I spent hours calling OVO and British Gas myself because the agent not only couldn't get the gas card but also gave me the wrong meter number. After countless calls and a huge amount of stress, I finally had my electricity restored on the third evening.
Throughout this entire ordeal, Winkworth did not offer an apology or any form of compensation for the distress, inconvenience, and unsafe living conditions I experienced.
I was sick and freezing during those days; my goods in the fridge went bad; I could not shower; there was no lights in the flat; and all of this could have been avoided if the letting agent had simply done their job properly. If anyone needed electricity for their medical supplies, this would have been unimaginable. This level of negligence is unacceptable, and no tenant should have to go through this experience.
UPDATE:
Their Managing Director had contacted me after my formal complaint email and had reimbursed me for three days of rent. I appreciated their prompt and reasonable response after receiving my concerns.

A long time tenant recently vacated a flat and the feeling of dread came over me. I was thinking of a long vacant period, dealing with slow unresponsive builders and then any snagging works. I messaged Krunal, and within a few days had obtained competitive quotes, overseen building works and kept me informed of the progress of the works. He even dealt promptly with minor snagging issues. I am one of the executors for a flat sold via Winkworths with exchange and completion taking place on Friday 17.1.25. There were a number of hitches on the way including the buyer pulling out as he was part of a chain, delays in exchange and then in the last minute exchange and completion taking place simultaneously. Throughout Sandiya kept me informed as to what was going on, she reassured me that sometimes things could get rather "hairy" and was always on the end of a phone (or returned my call) when I needed to ask her something. Ask Daniel the “manager”to send me rent form and he never sent to me(like he told me to do).
Sandiya she is rude, unprofessional, she literally doesn’t want to answer your questions, she is like okay have you finished bye.
Literally not kidding.
If you are interesting to rent a property don’t waste your time with them.
It’s a shame because they have some good properties in such a good location but I prefer to be respected rather to deal with unprofessional.

Had a viewing scheduled with Fin Lamb who didn't even show up. I was waiting in the rain and had travelled over an hour on a Saturday to get there so you can imagine my frustration. Daniel came to value my parents house on Shirehall lane as we needed a letter for probate, from valuation to Completion Daniel kept us calm and the many stresses of selling a property were kept to an absolute minimum as any issues were dealt with promptly with Daniel constantly speaking to each solicitor. Wouldn't recommend anyone else when it comes to selling or buying in Hendon!

had dealt with one of the staff in the sales side who seemed pleasurable although did not sell my property as it was taken off market. So, decided to use their Lettings team. This started out well initially till Johnny left and another guy took over. Does not respond to emails or telephone messages until I had to bring this to attention of branch manager. A new Lettings manager took over and was professional and good at her job but again, this changed. Got stuck with another who talks at you and had to remind her about good customer services. With regards managing, didn’t do anything but collect fees. They would try avoid doing basic tasks that other agents do. I have had other agents over the years and only decided using their Lettings whilst property was on the market. My entire dealings with them is something I have not had in 10yrs of dealing with Estate Agents and will definitely not recommend them for letting your property.

Daniel was extremely accommodating, meeting us at the property on multiple occasions before we moved in, and he even stayed late one evening when we were delayed in collecting the keys. He always responds quickly to messages - even when he is not working - and kept us abreast of progress towards completion even when our solicitor did not.
I highly recommend purchasing through Winkworth's - all of their staff are very professional, trustworthy, and respectful!

Josh was our estate agent from the start of our house hunting journey, right through to buying our house. He was exceptionally helpful from the very beginning. One of the great things, was that Josh only focused on showing us properties that fitted what we were looking for and in the area we were looking. He was very quick in getting us viewings at the suitable properties, and helped us find our ideal house! His assistance throughout the buying process was fantastic, helping to keep things moving when information was needed from the sellers, and always on hand to assist where needed. I can't believe Winkworth Hendon are still in business.
The staff and managers are just useless.
I give them my property and they promise me the world and once I had returned my papers, 4 weeks on, I've heard nothing.
I agree with the other reviews on here. I never write them but felt I had to and sympathy goes to anyone who uses them. Luckily I am coming out of my contract as I wanted to leave but was told I couldn't- they had me. Well no more, I'm taking my business elsewhere.
Stay clear.
