Liz and Nicola from F&C Rugby provided a first class service throughout the process of selling my late father's house. They were very supportive and always happy to attend the premises, not just for viewings but when I needed to give other trades access (as I live 300 miles away) and in my opinion went above and beyond at every step. F&C were not the cheapest quote we had, but were worth every penny: their marketing was superb and quickly generated a lot of interest in the house (far more than we expected) which led to a good offer. They continued to be in close communication throughout the legal process, gave good advice, and diplomatically negotiated a couple of bumps in the process to ensure everything continued on track. Nothing was too much trouble - even helping to lift a stain out of the carpet which was discovered when the last of the furniture was moved out! Carter & King have been very professional and helpful to us throughout the process. Their team all seems to know what is going on and can help with any enquiry, but they didn’t tell us when to expect to hear from them and kept us waiting a few days, so we were chasing for updates. The agent took 6 months to sell one of the two properties I had. I spent a lot of my time chasing him up for information and feedback. He had failed to advise about writing into the sales schedule, no guarantees. This cost my £3000 payment to the buyer for a new boiler. He sold the property at home report value, which I'd agreed completely unaware of the additional costs I'd be paying. The second property did not sell. I discharged this estate agent and went with a different estate agency. Within two weeks of them marketing the property, three viewings resulted in two second viewings and an offer accepted. When I wrote a review, to prevent anyone else experiencing such unnecessary stress and negative financial impact, he responded with it was my fault for insisting on doing the viewings. Oddly enough, as my son is a vulnerable adult, I continued with the viewings after changing estate agents and behold the property sold!... Read more
