If zero stars were possible, this company would deserve it.
I trusted Burchell Edwards (Connells Group) with full management of my property. The result?
• My tenant moved out early, but they failed to carry out a timely check-out.
• They withheld and contradicted information for weeks.
• They demanded £135+VAT for an inspection that should have been part of their service.
• They repeatedly chased me to release the tenant’s deposit before resolving my complaint.
• When I escalated to The Property Ombudsman, Connells’ delays and tactics meant the case wasn’t accepted.
Two months of stress, endless emails, and still no accountability.
My advice: do not entrust your property to this company. They take their fees but not their responsibilities.
Update (24 Oct 2025): Burchell Edwards replied here with a generic apology and asked me to email a complaints address. I have already submitted a formal complaint months ago with no proper resolution. A template response does not address the fact they failed in their full management duties and left me to deal with the fallout

We choose / employed Burchell Edwards to sell our house for us we did have a couple other estate agents to value our house aswell but we found Burchell Edwards gave care and attention towards our house and was honest and real about expectations.
The team are happy and always there for picking there brains for advice they keep me informed about how it's going with rightmove stats, viewing feedback mortgage advice and general questions we have. This is a service I expect shall continue until we are fully moved and living in our new home.

Little nervous as I was buying my first home, received great service during the whole process from everyone in the Eastwood branch.
Buying my first house was way easier because of Lee Peck's help. He was always quick to respond and easy to reach whenever I needed him. No matter if I just needed a quick update or had big questions, Lee was always there to answer them. He knows a lot about how to buy a house and was really willing to help me understand everything. This made a huge difference. If you're thinking about buying your first home, getting help from Lee is a great idea. I'm really grateful for his help and I think others who are about to buy a house should definitely talk to him.

We went with Burchell Edwards because of previous experience with Lexie. Tyler signed us up. Scarlett organised and did the viewings, she understood what we needed from a purchaser, i.e. ability to actually proceed was more important than highest offer. I saw her in action when we had 7 viewings in 1 day she was brilliant with potential buyers. We got 4-5 offers within about 10 days. She's always replied to emails and phone calls in a timely manner, if she didn't know something she found out. Amazing from start to finish, I cannot speak too highly of her.

I have received excellent service from the Eastwood branch, right from booking the valuation via Scarlett, dealing with Lexie who listed my property and re-installed confidence I had lost with another local estate agent, Watsons. Most of all SCARLETT, who ensured the viewer who bought my property had been vetted and in a position to buy also negotiated an offer on my property that was way more than I anticipated and that is what you need from your negotiator, not someone who is just happy to get the sale but fights to get you the maximum sale price. Months were wasted with the other local estate agent who did not vet viewers and wasted my and my family’s time by booking people to view my property who were not in a position to buy, just to say they’d booked a viewing. Communication has been fantastic with Scarlett and she has actioned every query and has been happy to do so.
My property sold after just 1 viewing using Burchell Edwards, Eastwood, the photographer was awesome, marketing was professional, not the agent sending an accompanied viewer round with a camera claiming to be professional. After wasting 6 months with another ‘ estate agent’ whose Negotiators were argumentative and rude I would highly recommend Burchell Edwards, ask for Scarlett!

I cannot thank Lee Peck (my advisor) enough for his work, unconditional support, knowledge, time given to explain and consistency throughout the 18 plus years we’ve worked together. I have experience of working with others too and honestly no one comes close. A Weekend viewing at a time both parties were available for, she Sorted it, went for the Viewing & having immediately Loved the place, phoned Holly up after saying "I'd move in Monday if I could", Bosh she Sorted it, Monday Night had the keys in my hands to my new place.
Beyond Fast & Efficient, along with the team at the estate agents being incredibly pleasant and helpful as I had Alyssa give me a friendly check up/confirmation call to ask if I have any new questions I'd like to ask for peace of mind & about how everything that was being organised for me was still going to plan. After a flood in the house over the weekend Holly was an Incredible help, after I’d left a very panicked voicemail with the branch, not expecting a reply because it was the weekend and out of hours, Holly called me and talked me through what she would do, massively putting my mind at rest. She was a fantastic link between myself and my landlord, keeping us both fully informed and staying in constant contact to get the situation resolved. This contact was maintained the entire time (including Sunday!) which was such a huge help. Tyler Heaton at Burchell Edwards has been brilliant in our recent dealings over finding a suitable property to buy. He has been extremely helpful and professional, and knows his trade, which I sadly have to say is not that common in our experience. We have had a series of ups and downs in our search and Tyler has been there throughout with helpful advice, and has put himself out to do viewings for us even when he’s rushed off his feet. Documents where produced well. However, before we managed to post them on the internet, we had sold the house to someone down the road who simply knocked on the door. Pleased with the sale. Not sure the Service from Burchell Edwards was worth there commission. Basically they didn't have anything to do really. Burchell Edwards were always polite, but the team did not always now where things where.... "have we got keys?".

I would highly recommend Burchell Edwards and the staff at the Eastwood branch. I have just completed a house sale and throughout the process I was kept well informed of every development. They were skilled at negotiating a deal for me . Offering advice and the benefit of their experience without being imposing. The staff were lovely if I rang with a query and always had time for me. I feel that the service was good value for money as they conducted all the viewings for me and had to contend with the disruption of the lockdown. Thank you Lexie, Jasmine and Billie .
Jane , the sales progresser was also invaluable at liaising with the solicitors and advocating on my behalf . This was not an easy task. Unfortunately , although Burchell Edwards themselves were amazing, the solicitors that they work with were not. DC Law were poor at communicating and did not chase up the progress of the sale promptly.
So absolutely go to Burchell Edwards but think carefully about which solicitor you use.

We used Liam from Burchell Edwards to help with the process of buying our first home. We had spoken to other mortgage advisors but found things were explained in such a complicated way that me and my partner left feeling exhausted from all the confusing information explained to us.
When we spoke to Liam, he could see we were first time buyers and found things complicated to understand. Liam explained everything and things made much more sense which really helped with the buying process. Liam found us a great mortgage with a really competitive rate compared to others.
Even though the process of buying our house took much longer than we would have liked (this was not Liam or Burhcell Edwards fault), Liam would chase things up with other parties and did everything he could to make the process be as quick as possible.

We decided to sell our property and went back to Burchell Edwards as we had had a good previous experience with them when we purchased our first property 10 years ago. We joked with Adam and David about selling our property within a week and how we would like to be moving into our new property the following week. The "for sale "board went up Tuesday after the photos were taken and it was sold by Friday!! This was thanks to them and their expert knowledge in knowing who was looking for what property on the market at that time. The team at Eastwood were not only friendly, funny and easy to talk to, they put you at ease instantly and they are all very professional and knowledgeable in their field. The girls in the office answered any questions we had and helped with any paperwork that we were struggling to fill out and even sent it off for us to the solicitors when needed.
We also used their mortgage broker Lianne and words cannot describe how helpful and brilliant she has been. We had had previous quotes on mortgages and were very unhappy and left feeling like we were not going to be able to move, but after speaking with Lianne she suddenly gave us so many more options and we are now in the final stages of purchasing our new home.
I cannot thank the team enough for their help and they have made the whole moving experience easy, stress free and almost enjoyable! (if that's at all possible when moving house?!)

What an absolute joke outfit terrible service no follow up call as promised, wrong details/description of our property in the summary these are the most unprofessional estate agents I have ever come across!!! They were a problem from the very beginning. Every time I had to call the office, somebody different would answer and there would be no record of what was going on, rude people no apologies from them on not calling back to me makes me think how this business still survives.
