Butler Sherborn were our second estate agents after a disappointing experience with the first. In a very difficult selling climate Helen Whitfield worked incredibly hard for us, went way beyond our expectations and was relentless in her pursuit of finding the perfect buyer, who we are delighted with. It was a lengthy process but throughout she has been encouraging and understanding, as well as being very funny. During the final process, she has been constantly in contact with both sets of solicitors as well as the buyer, and has at all times kept us informed, day and night and at weekends. Finally we have reached the end, and we will miss her but we have found a friend. We feel that she should add to her talents by becoming a conveyancer as well as an estate agent, since she could do all that is involved in conveyancing with her eyes closed.
Thanks to Helen we were informed of the state of play at all times in that difficult period leading up to exchange of contracts and completion, and luckily also by our wonderful buyer, long before we heard from anyone else, and we have been blessed in this respect.
Now it is all over life will seem rather quiet.

Overall I am extremely please with the manner in which Butler Sherborn have managed the sale. The property was ‘under offer’ after just 4 days but I worry until contracts exchange has taken place. With the World in chaos it takes a brave couple to take such risk. Wish me luck that all goes through. Thanks for the good advice contained on your website.

Rang them once. Spoke to someone, they didn’t answer after that. Subsequently sent web enquiries through Rightmove and separately, two emails. They responded to nothing. No texts, emails, calls…nothing. Finally, sent them an email telling them what I thought of them. Used to feel sorry for them. No longer . With Savills and Knight Frank over taking them they’re on their way out. They made their choice. They can live with the consequences. Goodbye Butler Sherborne. You had a choice about how you treated me. I will enjoy witnessing your decline.

I have been a successful lawyer for 30 years and I am absolutely fastidious about client care and client service. However I have never been more impressed than with the way that Helen Whitfield of Butler Sherborn managed us through an extraordinarily stressful four months of house sale in the Cotswolds. Although our property was an attractive and marketable one, we experienced a series of purchasers who failed to proceed for reasons of their own. All through it, Helen was cheerful, robust, focussed, responsive and absolutely determined to get us the sale that the property merited. In the end she magicked up some excellent purchasers and when all seemed lost, put together a fantastic deal for us. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She is streets, towns and cities ahead of some of the other agents we considered, from much larger and perhaps more well-known agencies. Our confidence in Helen was rewarded over and over again. I can recommend her without hesitation to anyone with a large property to sell, or buy, across the Cotswolds. Plus, she is just such a nice person to deal with.
