I chose the agency to sell the house as they offered fixed price package regardless of the sale price. I have also reached out to other estate agents in the area to obtain valuations. Carnegie came back with the lowest estimate out of all agents and I disagreed with their valuation and proceeded with the price I thought was appropriate. One buyer was interested and offered a price which was 5% below asking price. Stuart, who is the director and one-man band of the agency, tried to convince me that the offer was reasonable and I should accept it, without any attempts of negotiation. I again disagreed and managed to agree the price which was close to the asking price. As my agent Stuart failed to protect my interests and was not prepared to negotiate on my behalf. The house sale was due to a separation and communication was broken with another party. I am sure, Stuart, as an estate agent is all too familiar with divorce/separation cases. Yet he did not act professionally, he revealed confidential information to the other party without permission and was also providing incorrect information, only making the conflict worse. During the sale process I was also buying another property. The agent who was assisting with the purchase was 100 more helpful and proactive than Stuart. It was surprising as I have paid Stuart for the sale, yet another agent who would not receive any commission from me, was more proactive and helpful in trying to get matters moving with both sale and purchase. Overall, I was dissatisfied with the level of service I received from Carnegie Estate Agents. Not professional and failed to put my interests first as a seller.... Read more

Reviewing as a customer of Carnegie Estate Agents - I have both rented my property and sold it through this company. By far the best experience I have had with an agent full stop. When renting the property they have been scrupulously fair to both sides and have always rented the property successfully over a period of 20+ years. On the sale side they found a buyer quickly, showed the property well and the sale went through exceedingly quickly, despite on ebuyer pulling out. Had a property viewing booked for the 3rd October which was cancelled by the estate agents on the day with only 2 hours notice despite several confirmation texts - we had re-arranged work plans to attend and this was cancelled with very short notice. Another viewing was arranged for 2 days later, only to be rung on the day and say the property was no longer available. Poor communication - always very last minute. Will not use them in future....
