We have always found Bradley to be very friendly, personable and helpful, answering any queries we have had and ensuring the sometimes stressful viewing process goes as smoothly as possible. It has been many years since we sold/purchased a property so our decision to enter this daunting process was approached with some trepidation. We had been in discussio with Mike Hughes for some time prior to start of our search, as our requirements were specific to our retirement plans
Mike kept regular contact for updates and progress. Our search came to fruition towards the end of 2023. There were some challenges to be addressed, but once we had decided to proceed we requested Mike to expedite as quickly as possible. The speed with which the paperwork and launch was competed was far beyond our expectations. Throughout the viewing and offer period the Chancellors team provided comprehensive updates verbally and in writing.
Overall any concerns or trepidation were dispelled. Mike and his team have shown a wonderfully refreshing approach and attitude to our partnership. A big thanks to all.

Recently purchased our first home via chancellors. There was a lot of back and forth with dates etc with a sales progresser based in reading.
When we went to pick up our keys at 5:30pm they were given to us in an envelope. No key ring just 3 loose keys. Which we were informed “they have moved out as they picked up their keys about 1.5 hours ago” (this was by Michael) and that “they have left the other keys in the house and as the door was one that needs a key to open this was fine”
Also when we also went to our house at 8pm after going to shops to pick up some paint and other bits and pieces the previous owners were still in the house moving stuff out… so when we got talking to the previous owners they asked “have you been told about the damage the removal company did and the rubbish left out the back”. The answer to these questions was no. So our new house is already damaged and we were not informed until the previous owners told us.
I would also like to think and have seen/been told by friends that when they moved into new properties they had a welcome gift from the estate agent. Chancellors however have not done this. Poor customer engagement in my personal opinion.
If we ever go to sell our house in the future we will not be using chancellors. Awful company.

Three years ago, I initially rejected some potential tenants, but Chancellors advised me not to judge them based on their earnings and need for a zero deposit. I reluctantly agreed and opted for their full management service since I live abroad. They failed miserable at managing the property, leaving most things to me and now, I'm dealing with £25k in damages, bills opened in my name, and debt collectors at my door looking them! Chancellors take no responsibility for the condition of my property

Not happy with letting side of business. I signed letting agreement and cancelled in 5 working days. Agency have not done any shows and asking me to pay full bill of 750£ for doing nothing for me. I found tenants myself and was not happy on such attitude towards me. Please don't ever sign any letting agreements with them, because they do sole agency and trying to have eclusivity for 12 weeks. And even work is not done try to bill you and harrass with this.

I was looking to sell my property. Initial meeting went well but I decided to use a different estate agents in the end.
Ever since they have frequently called me leaving voicemails and emails asking to keep in touch. I can understand one or two calls and I am often happy to give the benefit of the doubt but their repeated calls over the last 2 months have progressed to being a nuisance. I've asked for my records to be removed and to be left alone - hopefully now the calls will stop.
If I feel the need to switch estate agents I will not be considering Chancellor's in future.

Had a worst experience with them as they are not helping me out in returning my money from landlord and cancelling my agreement. And if they have some work with you, they give you deadlines and when you have work with them and ask for help they just raise their hand especially Bradley Whiskin and Matthew wyeth. Worst agents in swindon ever. I Would suggest dont go to these people.
After the director reached out to me on email, still the issue hasnt been resolved and the owner says take money from Chancellors and Chancellors says take money from Owner as he manages the property, but I paid to chancellors and they are liable to payme back. Currently Lost in nowhere as nobody is ready to help

Work on your phone manner and update your website and rightmove. I don't remember who I spoke to, but more training is required on phone manner and how to answer questions professionally and courteously. The prospective property has been on the market for >6 months unsold, and when I inquired about it I was told that the property has been renovated during that time and the layout is now completely different. I was made to feel stupid for not having up-to-date information, but where am I supposed to get that info if your website and rightmove aren't up-to-date?
Chancellors are desperate to get hold of your details to bombard you with spam, but they don't actually want to put in any work to help you find a property.
Come on, Chancellors. Do better.

David was great and helped us understand the process. We are happy with our experience with Chancellors though it did feel there could have been better prep for the first open day. Second was more successful with multiple offers. One concern was that the right information for the buyer wasn't collected and we were told the buyer was a first time buyer though i found out from my seller agent that it wasn't the case. This caused undue stress as the sellers might have rejected our offer if we didn't have another lower offer that we subsequently accepted.
Overall happy though there's room to improve certain aspects.

I just wanted to update my previous comments, that my relationship with Mackenzie and Chancellors definitely improved. Mackenzie managed to arrange a viewing for me for the house I mentioned below, he has been responsive and helpful. I even enquired one another property and the process since their first phone call till a moment they proposed my a viewing has been very smooth and clear.
I believe that we all learn from our mistakes and we should give each other another chance. We understood our expectations in the end, and this definitely will help in our future relations.

I had a very very bad experience with this agency. I requested a viewing of one of their properties on Monday this week. I got a call from Mackenzie Masih
who informed me their viewings are not yet open for this property, that he will get in touch with his colleague to find out when they will start accepting the bookings and will get in touch with me afterwards. I waited till today, emailed Mackenzie to follow up and he called back saying they are fully booked now for the viewings next week and that he will contact me if there are any cancellations. I mentioned it was not what we agreed, that I asked for a viewing 4 days ago when the viewings were not even open. He said it is a competitive market, his colleague have a full list of viewings and he doesnt have any availability for me. I am very disappointed that I wasn't contacted on Monday if that was really the case that they were fully booked that time, that there was no more viewing available for me. I simply feel I called and was forgotten and in the meantime new poeple started calling who got the space. This is not the first time of my disappointment with their service, lack of respect to the customer, and total lack of professionalism. It happened already in the past for another property what in my opinion explains such a low rating in general. Yes it is a competitive market, but somehow the other agencies can still care of their customers and respect us and treat like humans and not just an anonymous number.

I honestly think some of them must be from people that work there as the experience I have had from trying to arrange a viewing on two properties has been astonishingly bad, like beyond bad!! The first property, they didn't even know was listed by them the second, they were just so inflexible it was ridiculous, even though I am in a proceedable position willing to offer over the asking price, they are potentially loosing a sale for the vendor... Edit: Having previously been very happy with the sales team in Swindon I then had the misfortune of dealing with Chancellors head office. For the first 8 weeks following our sale I had no contact form Chancellors. Despite numerous phone calls and emails for updates they never responded. This prompted a complaint and our case was moved to another member of staff. Whilst they did their best to keep us updated I actually received better and quicker updates on the sale of my property from the estate agent of the house we were buying. Matters were also not helped by our buyer using Chancellors "preferred" solicitors who I can only described as inept. I would also point out that the rate of commission was the highest of all the estate agents we met with. The service received was certainly not worth that premium fee.
After a very promising start (and indeed Tom and his team remained positive throughout) my overall experience is a poor one and I would strongly not recommend Chancellors.
Original: Having sold our property with Chancellors in a very short space of time I can only say they deliver in terms of results. Tom Howell has been our main point of contact and I have been pleased with his honest and friendly approach. Some administration aspects could be better (hence the 4 stars) but the people I have dealt with (especially Tom) have all been very good. I would be more than happy to recommend Tom and his team.

Our experience with this company has been amazing straight from the initial inquiry. As first time renters we weren't sure what to expect but Matthew has been amazing throughout. Our initial inquiry was for a property that was no longer available but Matthew quickly and efficiently took down our requirements and found a property for us straight away, he continuously kept us in the loop with what was happening and never failed to follow up an email with amazing response times.

After being interested in a property in rent with chancellors I was booked in quick to see the property all paperwork done professionally, got told we have been accepted for the property within a day of viewing. Absolutely disgusted with chancellors. They never get back to you. My house is currently on the market I’ve told them time and time again not to come at certain times and they don’t listen they work around themselves. Do not sell or buy from these people!

Buying home in UK is really overwhelming and it becomes even more tricky when you are a first time buyer and to make it worst usually property agents work for seller as they are paid by them. During my home buying journey during Feb'21 till Jun'21, Thomas Howell shown incredible professionalism and responsiveness in handing my queries. As others have said, this operation is a shambles if you're a potential buyer. Viewings are booked centrally - you're lucky if you can get one within two weeks - and then you can waste multiple calls trying to get Swindon branch to confirm it or give you basic details like the address of the property. I've also had them leave me voicemails saying "please call me" without leaving any reason or information. Then deny they've called me when I finally get through to someone after multiple attempts to find out what they want. I can also confirm as mentioned by others that they leave properties active online as bait long after they have sold.

This agent doesn't mark properties as sold STC on rightmove and leaves them there for months. When you call them up for a viewing, they tell you that the property has been sold.

If you want a quick sale then DO NOT go with chancellors. We did have many time wasters coming to the house. Offering £30-35000 under asking price. In my opinion they over value the property to get the listing. Bring all these people round and eventually say maybe we have to reduce the asking price. Ask them questions - what happens if you do not achieve the asking price? Can you bring your top 5 best buyers round before going to market? Basically get tik tok and watch John.savage

I have not had a good experience with this agency.
I was looking for houses to rent. I became interested in one that was available and went to see it.
Submit all requested documentation. In one day I arrived to receive more than 7 calls from this agency and I informed that I could not answer because I was working.
After sending everything that was requested, no return from the broker is required.
I needed to get in touch to check what was going on. And the broker said they couldn't approve me for any home. And they didn't know how to explain the real reason. I was wondering what was not approved.
He didn't know how to explain it to me and just told me he couldn't. It was very disappointing for my family and my son.
We never went through that.
It lacked professionalism.
Even if a person does not pass checks, they should be treated well and informed about what happened.

Having mainly dealt with Tom and Abbie, they are extremely helpful, friendly but also professional.
My calls are always returned promptly and I genuinely feel as though they want to get me the best price for my house, and have actively been trying to help us find our dream home in the process.

If I could give zero stars I would. They’re unable to value a property and their motto should be ‘if you’re bored and fancy a snoop about come & have a look’ if you want a quick sale look elsewhere. They couldn’t sell water to a person dying of thirst. If you’re lucky enough to get a viewing they may even remember to lock your front door after they leave

My son has tried in vein to view 3 properties with this agent over a 2 week period, we have phoned 8 times and left 2 messages with the call center and 2 weeks later still nothing.
