I came across Chandler’s lettings on Rightmove and once I contacted them for a viewing, the process was seamless, from booking the appointment to the viewings. Lily Dawes was so lovely upon meeting with her for the viewings, she took her time to show us the property and answered all of the questions we had accurately. Even when we had our offer accepted, Lily was excited for us, which made the whole experience very fulfilling and rewarding.

Pre marketing was done quickly and efficiently. Asking price achieved within a month of going on the market. Then the hard work started!
Unfortunately my buyers solicitor was very inexperienced and unhelpful, and caused countless problems and delays to the whole conveyancing process.
Sales manager James Armsby was exceptional in his endeavour to get us to the point of exchange of contracts, which we eventually did.
James was a constant support to me throughout this very stressful process, he was always at the end of the phone whenever I needed answers, or very often for me to let off steam to!
I cannot praise him highly enough.

After a very positive experience during the sale, the customer care completely disappeared once the house was sold.
I contacted the estate agents to ask them to pass my details on to the previous owners, as I needed to get in touch. At the same time, I later found out that the previous owners were also trying to contact me to retrieve important mail. This situation could have been resolved in minutes with a simple email, but no action was taken.
Once the commission was secured, there seemed to be no care or urgency for what was clearly an important matter for both parties. The lack of communication and follow-up was extremely disappointing, especially given how good the service had been previously.
Overall, I’m very let down by the poor post-sale customer service and would expect much better.

If someone had told me four years ago that one day I would be selling a property I never actually bought, I’d have thought they were completely mad! But life has its twists, and when my dearest friend passed away ????, I found myself with the enormous responsibility of selling his home.
Determined to do right by him, I began researching everything I could—how-to guides, articles, videos, you name it. I met with four estate agents, but the experience felt discouraging. Each one suggested an asking price that, frankly, undervalued the property.
Then someone recommended Chandlers. I made a call, and David Murray arranged a viewing for the very next morning. From the moment David stepped into the house, something was different. He saw potential where others hadn’t. He looked past the current condition of the interior and recognized its true value. We quickly agreed on an asking price—one that my late dearest friend had suggested.
The property went on the market in April. It sold at the full asking price in May, and the keys were handed over to the buyers in the third week of July. Incredible!
Despite my inexperience and initial nerves, David’s calm, confident approach made all the difference. He patiently answered all my “newbie” questions (blush, blush!) without ever making me feel foolish.

It was not straightforward and unfortunately hit a few bumps along the way, but I felt fully supported throughout the whole process.
I chose chandlers as I preferred to place my trust in an independent Estate Agent rather than a chain, and this paid off in the service I subsequently received.
On a lighter note, I would also like to recommend their frequent coffee and chats, especially when things weren't quite going to plan and a bit of TLC and reassurance was required.
House selling is very stressful, but having two consistent and friendly professionals to guide me through it has been invaluable.

When selling my house, Chandlers were professional, helpful, honest & efficient. They listened to what I wanted and advised what I needed to do to get that result not only on the sale of my old house but also with the purchase of my new house.

Just sold our house through Chandlers. David valued the house slightly above the other agents we had asked to provide a valuation. He gave us a good explanation why he came to that valuation and outlined a strategy to achieve it. We did not get this from the other agents. The house sold very quickly for that valuation. We Used Chandlers to sell a family property, after viewing multiple estate agents, Ben and David were the only Estate agents that made us feel like a human and not a number. The staff at Chandlers were friendly but professional throughout the sale of the property. Their advise was spot and needed to be to secure a sale during a particularly difficult financial period after the October 2022 mini budget and interest rate rises.
We were kept informed of all relevant movement and information throughout the sale.
Additionally, they were able to arrange a number of trades to carry out work or
surveys of the property as issues arose.

We rented a property with Chandlers for just under ten years. Chandlers properties are of a high standard so you will not be disappointed. Beautiful little flat and we were allowed to make it our home. Anytime we had to report an issue, it was dealt with very quickly and efficiently by Serena. Her communication skills are brilliant!
When we informed them of notice to leave the flat, we received detailed information and guidance. We worked hard cleaning and ensuring the flat was up to scratch for our checking-out process. We were fully shocked and delighted to receive all of our deposit back after such a long time of living there but I’m told Serena fought our case of the time element. Very much appreciated as the check-out process is carried out independently by another company and you are unable to attend with them.
Overall, we are very happy with Chandlers and how they looked after us for a very long time. Polite, professional and respectful! We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking at renting in Stevenage.

Communication was efficient and regular and If Ian wasn’t ever available Calls were returned promptly or answered by his colleague Ben. I am not local, living in Lincoln, but if I was to sell property again I will be straight on the phone to Chandlers. They might react to things quickly when issues are reported, but expect cheap replacements for everything (after getting a toilet seat replaced 3 times we ended up buying our own).
Serena will not make your stay a pleasant one. We have lived in a number of rental properties and have never received the over zealous level of scrutiny by Chandler's.
Tried to charge us over £800 of our deposit for work not completed at check out for work not even completed.
When you check out, DO NOT ACCEPT IF THEY HAVEN'T DONE THE WORK.
Overall, poor experience. Know that this is not a partnership between tenant and landlord being supported, Chandlers will make it clear where their loyalties lie. Fully with the landlord.
Will never deal with Chandler's again. They really need to up their ethics when it comes to renters. We are not second class citizens.
