I had an amazing experience working with Cyrus. My friend and I were moving to London for our Master Programs in January and began looking at flats in November. Due to the holiday season and therefore leasing agents' slow response times along with not knowing the UK renting process, it felt impossible. We were two weeks out from moving with still no place to live and no help. We looked up Real Estate companies and found Chestertons and got in contact with Cyrus. He responded immediately and asked us a ton of questions to help him help us. Over the next two week, he worked days, weekends, and nights to help us find a flat and navigate the whole process. He listened to every doubt and answered every question. He negotiated and advocated on our behalf and was extremely communicative. He's the reason we were able to find a flat we love and move in so quickly. I couldn't recommend working with him enough! He took our terrible experience and made it efficient, easy, and successful. 10/10 recommend!

I had a wonderful experience working with Mimi Pitman at Chestertons Covent Garden. I only had about a month to find my next flat, and I came across a beautiful and convenient two-bedroom place near Bedford Square, close to my university. I called Mimi just minutes before the offer was about to close, and she immediately stepped in to help.
She guided me through every step, worked quickly with me to secure the flat, and later gave me a thorough introduction to all the details of the property. Since this was my first time going through the renting process on my own, I really appreciated how friendly, warm, and responsive she was throughout.

Mixed views around Chesterton Covent Garden.
I think our agent Mimi did try her best but there were few misses from the agency which I think would have been better managed: carpet flooring was not clean so we had to bring another company to clean it, main door lock was not working properly so we had to replace it, mattress was not in there and we had to wait for 4 days before it came in, radiators when we came in were in a terrible condition and the agency is in the process of replacing, hot plate was not working and the agency is currently replacing. Kitchen is still quite rusty and not in a good condition but the agency is investigating.
Few misses that could have been prevented before the tenant came into place. I would like still to thank Mimi who still tried her best despite all the issues.

My experience with Chestertons as a whole has been very positive compared with other lettings agent. I rarely receive spamming emails; all recommendations from Chesterton's mailing list has been very close to my requests and search criteria.
Mimi Pitman especially stands out as a very proactive and considerate agent who takes initiative to help the clients (both the tenant and the landlord) in reaching a satisfactory outcome. This is reflected from the fact that she was able to efficiently identify a willing tenant to fill in the vacancy for a landlord whose previous tenant cancelled last minute.

Poor poor service. The sale agent Carlos has only his own interest (or the seller) at heart, was not helpful, and slow response, and always made us feel, the buyer of the place, a burden. Any questions we had felt it was not responded correctly, or ignored so the buyer cannot find the true state of the home. It made the whole buying process painful. He kept us regularly updated on offers.The final buyer wanted new locks fitted to the steel front door before exchanging and Carlos went done and let the locksmith in and waited while the locks were changed.The flat has been unoccupied got the last 3 months.

Really bad experience. We had issues with the landlord who went MIA as soon as our tenancy came to an end and so we literally had no option but to take the landlord to court to claim back our deposit.
Got the court order, presented it to Chestertons as they are "the stakeholder" and hold the money - not only did they not accept it, saying that they "must wait for the landlord to appeal", they were incredibly unhelpful, patronising and their e-mail responses felt like they are siding with the awful landlord. One of their employees sent us an e-mail low-key hinting that it was our fault that the money has not been returned to us saying that "...if the dispute was raised during the correct timeframe, we would have had our money by now" - everything was raised, dealt with and documented in the correct timeframe, but they just love shifting the blame.
Not only that was the issue- when they rented the flat to us, we signed an agreement with them that stated that the landlord will remove her things from the flat & professionally clean it. And of course nothing has been done when we checked in.
This agency has compliance issues, and we are now seeking legal advice in regards to their practises.
There are plenty of other good agencies in London to choose from, avoid this one.

We had 3 flats rent it through them and for all of them with any exception half of our security deposit was retained against the law and totally unjustified!!! We paid huge amount of rent for some 1 bed which basically were some converted studio without any support when have issue in the apartments. Therefore we give the flats back with notice because of this and without any reason in all properties half of our security deposit was held so pleas make sure you will not end up in the same position as looks like this is like a habit from what we observe.

It was a tricky probate sale where the vendors live in Australia, but they pulled out all the stops to ensure fast and effective communication between buyer and seller. They also chased slow solicitors very effectively on our behalf so we could exchange contracts in just 3 weeks. she reminds me of a younger james westendarp (office director, little venice, chestertons, who just helped sell my apartment for 1.28 million) --
annabelle is incredibly organised and forward thinking, and adaptive in her thinking -
she is also amazingly caring and sweet - (that sweet spot everyone searches for - well, annabelle has it in spades) -eg, if the property is not right for the buyer, no big deal, there are also other great properties -
and she works her butt off to get the client a good deal.
i have no doubt that i will be contacting annabelle (currently at chestertons covent garden office with carlos) in three years' time, when i will be buying another property in central london.

It was the worst experience I ever had! Lost lot of money and sleep. After years of incompetence and bad service especially by the Covent Garden office and a long dispute, when I decided to sell, I recontacted Chestertons. Rebecca and especially Carlos assisted me through a long and excruciating sale process. I had two sales that fell through and various problems and delays. Service by Chestertons was fantastic. Samuel Allen was available as soon as I called, and the properties shown were exactly the ones I was looking for re price and location.
I ended up renting the first flat that was shown to me, and the process went by very smoothly.
I was told renting a flat in London was a nightmare, and Chestertons made sure it was not, since I found a flat two days after my arrival.
I would definitely recommend Chestertons to anyone looking to rent a flat in London or elsewhere.

I have to say that Slywia has been extremely helpful throughout the whole process. She when out of her way to fit into my schedules arranging and attending viewings on weekends for me. She is extremely diligent in her approach and was determined to find a suitable property for me.
