We purchased through Clubleys Pocklington in May. On the whole the experience was positive, staff were friendly and professional. We asked for several issues to be addressed by the vendor: the garage door which was unsafe (dealt with), the boiler which was very over due for a service (dealt with), and for the carpets to be cleaned prior to completion. The house is carpeted throughout with cream carpets and these were badly marked after viewings and use by previous owner. A member of Clubley’s staff assured us when we checked after exchange that the carpets had been cleaned but we discovered on moving in that they had not. A staff member merely said ‘oh’ when we raised the issue. Disappointing.
Edited to add: The evidence provided by Clubleys referred to below was a photo of a bucket of dirty water which is what was sent to them by the carpet cleaning company. That is not evidence of cleaning carpets. I stand by my review and have suggested that they do not use the company again.

After 30 years in the same house, it's fair to say we were pretty settled...or so we thought! Lisa at Clubleys in Pocklington had other ideas and encouraged us to view a house on the market with the Pocklington Office. Three months later, here we are in our new home!
Lisa instinctively knew what style of house we would like and from the very first viewing she has been so professional, knowledgeable and helpful with nothing being too much trouble. If Lisa was away from the office, the rest of the team at Pocklington could pick up the file and the service was seamless. The whole team are nothing short of excellent and a credit to Clubleys.

It is very rare these days to find estate agents who have always had, and have never lost the ability and professionalism to provide first class customer service, but Clubleys is one of the very few.
I have bought and sold many properties over the years (50+) and so have experienced and had to suffer some of the worst agents that the industry has to offer, which is why Clubleys are so refreshing.
Buying and selling properties, whether your own home, or for a lettings portfolio is a stressful proceedure, principally because most of the process in out of your control. This is where an agent who truly understands buyers and sellers is invaluable, and over the twenty two years that I have dealt with Clubleys, this has always been the case, and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Within the space of less than 3 years, Clubleys Director Lisa and her team have sold 2 houses for us - each of them for the asking price at the very least! They are super-efficient at what they do, in the way they conduct viewings, offer constructive advice on how to present the best possible look for our homes ahead of the (advertising) photo-shoot. (I should also add that Clubleys use an excellent photographer for this purpose!) Clubleys also offer a very useful software tool by which the vendor can view how the sale is progressing as regards the necessary steps in the sales process. In addition to all that, we received weekly phone updates from staff each Friday. Clubleys of Pocklington consist of a very professional team of individuals. They have a positive work ethic and in each and every case, the client is their number one priority. As a result of all these qualities, and more, I have no hesitation in awarding them 5 Golden Stars.

So I don't leave these sort of messages as most companies fail to impress and negativity is always a problem. However having dealt with Sam Atkinson at Clubley's for over 15 years only positive thoughts come to mind as she has been an amazing letting agent from start to finish. She has always been totally fair with my obligations towards my tenant and what ongoing maintenance I was always expected to do. I cannot recommend Clubleys Pocklington enough. We just sold our house with them, and they were present and proactive every step of the way.
To start with, Lisa's first visit to value the house was very professional and helpful (i.e. not just a valuation, but advice, too). Clubleys clearly have a very good sense of the market, which should not be taken for granted. Accurate valuation resulted in receiving an offer quickly.
They were very accommodating when arranging times for potential buyers to visit, and respected our home.
There were various delays not caused by Clubleys and they always kept us up to date, and communicated well with our solicitor and other estate agents.
My only regret is that we're leaving the area and will not be able to use their services again - thank you!

Although not clients we received regular updates on the progress of the sale and any queries were answered in the same day. A "Welcome" gift pack on completion was the icing on the cake. Booked an appointment to view a house, turned up and noone was there to show me round. Turned out they'd not put my appointment in their diary and accepted an offer on the house the day before. Complete waste of my time.
EDIT: Clubleys went above and beyond to put this error right and I am now satisfied with the resolution. Thank you Lisa!
FURTHER EDIT: I am now almost at the final hurdle with Clubleys and buying my first home and they have been absolutely exceptional. Lisa and the whole team are wonderful people who have been very patient with my slightly complicated and long winded house purchase and I am extremely grateful for all their kindness and positive attitude whilst it's been going on. Thank you again!!

Lovely elegant house and gardens with excellent restaurant /coffee lounge. Well worth the short trip out from York city centre. Come to think of it one can walk.it in less than 20 minutes from.the station.

We sold our Mum's house and Clubleys made it so easy. From meeting Lisa when she visited the house we were impressed with her attitude and personality, which made us feel comfortable with the whole process. All communication by phone and email was prompt and friendly. The sale was quick and efficiently dealt with Sarah, Sarah & Janet, making sure we knew when things were happening. I have never had to deal with a worse surveyor in my life. Although sharing the same name as me, he shared non of my friendly characteristics. He was rude to me and my wife when meeting us. He then tried to bill us twice for the survey. After not apologising for this Chris then sent us the worst report i have ever received with basic spelling and grammar mistakes.

I would never use Clubley''s again and I advise anyone looking to rent a property to avoid them like the plague.
When my wife and I first moved to pocklington we were looking for a house to rent. We found a very nice house in pocklington through Clubley's. We applied for the house but made it crystal clear that we both had poor credit history, so rather than pay the fee's and risk getting knocked back we wanted to know our chances of been accepted.
We were basically told that we had been accepted so our poor credit history wasn't an issue. So we filled out the application form and paid the fee's.
A couple of days later Clubley's phoned to say the landlord had changed his mind and not happy to accept us due to out bad credit, which we made clear BEFORE we applied. Clubley's then refused to give back our fee's. Had Clubley's been honest with us and said there is a chance you won't be accepted but we will still keep your fee then we would have never applied.
Last week my sister-in-law applied for a house through them and exactly the same scenario. My sister-in-law told Clubley's she had terrible credit but could provide an excellent gaurantor. Clubley's took the fee for the application under the pretence she had already been accepted by the landlord.
A few days later my sister-in-law received a call saying the landlord won't accept her or her guarantor because of her poor credit. Yet again Clubley's refused to refund the fee.
Come on Clubley's........I'm sure you make enough money already without having to rip off hard working people. I advise people to avoid them at all costs. We have used RM English and sweet move, both of whom are much more open and honest.
