I recently sold my property with Foxtons and had a very positive experience. The property I was selling was that of my late grandfather so there was a times issues with the estate however the team at Norbury were incredibly helpful throughout the entire sale process. I would like to give a special mention to Chris Read and Khan Broughton for their hard work and commitment to helping me achieve the best outcome possible. They were always on hand to answer any questions, provide support and even helped look out for the property as it was vacant and I did not live local. Absolutely brilliant service from Khan and Chris at Foxtons Norbury. They genuinely couldn't do enough for us.
My partner and I were searching for a property for over a year, and had been through our fair share of estate agents - most of whom were clearly only interested in taking our money.
However, from our initial conversations with Khan and Chris, to finalising our house purchase, they have been nothing short of amazing. They were both quick to respond and transparent in their communications, as well as remaining professional throughout the process.

They over value your property then ask you to reduce it by £50,000 to then ask a few weeks later to drop it even more. If Chris Read valued your property correctly in the first place they wouldn’t have to ask you to do that. It seems he over values, makes you drop the price, then again and then you get a sale for the price that other estate agents valued your house at originally. Worst experience ever!

Try to avoid unless you'd love to lose your money. We had more than £1100 deposit. We lived there for less than 2 years. Around April they gave us notice to move out. When I called them to ask why I've been told it's landlords decision and they don't know why. When I suggest we can pay more, straight away he told me new price which was higher for 85%! I could understand rise of the rent but 85% it's unfair. When we moved out they refuse to give us our deposit back. They said we damaged kitchen units (never been replaced so they're over 20 years old...) I asked around 5 times to compare their photos before we moved in with ours when we moved out (see attached photos of "destroyed" kitchen units) but they never replied. They also deducted £350 due to professional cleaning of the flat. Doesn't matter that they didn't even hoover flat when we moved in, fridge stank like dead rats (it took my girlfriend 3 days of everyday cleaning to make it better). My girlfriend is cleaner and she did even too much comparing how they gave us the flat but we've been told it needs to be professionally cleaned so remember to prepare £350 for professional cleaners when you will move out. Last deduction was for a week of rent back in November. We didn't pay it because main drain pipe was blocked on outside of our flat so we couldn't use the only bathroom. It took them week(!) to fix it. Week of struggling with basic human needs. We never felt humiliated like this before. Finally after week (and many, many calls both to agency and building management) they send plumbers which fixed the problem in around 2 hours. It was that simple and yet took them week to do so. If that would happen to anyone from foxtons they will sort it out same day but me and my girlfriend can suffer. We had to drive around to family and friends so we can use toilet and have a shower and yet we have to pay for that "pleasure".
Another things worth mention:
-few months after we moved in the whole building turned into construction site. Dust, vibrations, noises but most important we lost access to parking spot which was included in the rent! The renovation of the building took around 1.5 year. First week after it was finished they send us notice to move out :) perfect scam because if we would knew about refurbishment of the building then we would never rent it.
-arrogant stuff (except maybe 2 people) especially Property Manager Nicole Smith. Never before I met so unpleasant, arrogant and racist person in my whole life.
- when they ask us to make viewings I gave them time at evenings 2 days a week. Most of working people (like me and my fiancée) have free time after work so that would be perfect for both parties. Also I don't want anyone to walk around our flat while we're not there. I think it's normal unless the flat would be completely empty but it wasn't. Instead I heard they have keys and they will access flat anytime they want (what a hit into out privacy and security...) great response to a tenants but after I explained them that in agreement access to flat via keys is reserved only for emergency situations they let go for a while but we went through this conversation another few times. Such an arrogant people it is just hard to believe. It's not like I told them I won't let anyone in. I agreed for viewings and let them add me to what's app group so it was easier for them to book viewings but the only condition we had was to make viewing while me or my girlfriend will be at home.
I could write a book about renting from Foxtons but those few examples should give you an idea how they can act like. I don't know how they treat other tenants but that's how they treated us. We will fight back for our deposit as we worked hard for that money and won't let them have it for that nonsense reasons without showing any good proof.

After going through 3 previous well known agents, none of which were able to find a suitable buyer, we opted to ask Foxtons (who had just opened a new branch in Norbury). Selling a house for the first time is a very nerve wrecking experience. I really felt like a fish out of water trying to find the right agent for the timeline and price I wanted. When Chris came to see the house, he had 100% confidence that he can sell it quickly and was realistic yet ambitious about the price!
I was thrilled that they had viewings lined up before we even listed the house and it had an agreed offer within a week (even before it was listed)! He and Khan kept in touch through the whole process and made sure that everything finished in a timely manner! Thank you! Highly recommend them! It’s true they take more commission, but they are motivated and back themselves with direct actions!

Over promised and under delivered in my experience.
I liked the photos and the advertisement of my flat but then it went 'live' with the wrong price and there was generally a big lack of communication. I was chased up to get my property on with them and after I did so, I didn't hear from them at all.
Additionally they charge 2.5% and I don't believe they do anywhere near enough to justify that price.
I'm sure my experience is not the norm but given the reputation they have and the price they charge they should be able to sell properties in all conditions.
I wouldn't use them again.

Chris came highly recommended from my sister who had a very good experience with her house sale. I found he was an absolute professional from start to finish. I don't live in the country and he went above and beyond to help me preprare the flat and manage all the viewings. He gave a very fair estimate, around what I had hoped, and despite a tricky economic climate we managed to meet it. He did thorough back ground checks on prospective buyers and when the first offer fell through, he found another buyer within a short space of time. He was an excellent liaison between me and the buyer to help us understand what was holding things up so we could push our solicitors and keep things moving. Most of all, he kept in touch almost daily so I was fully aware of where we were at and gave excellent advice and reassurance throughout. Highly recommended!

Absolutely disappointed with their commitment to the tenants, they do not care at all.
Was left for a full week without any bathroom facilities with a one year old. The landlord needed to carry out works due to bad job being done originally, it started leaking on the neighbour below. Without providing any option the works just started, I chased them every day but as told once “property managers do not work weekends” so tenants cannot have issues over weekends because otherwise you will be stuck with it and wait until the normal working day. Despite all my complaints nothing was ever done. And not only that they will trick you as well. The old landlord sold the property so instead of letting the tenants know they wait to get at least one extra rent money before they say they are no longer the letting agent and withhold that money. They will always find an excuse so watch out for a so called property manager Natalia.

Chris Read did a fantastic job selling our house at the end of last year. We decided to go with Chris because he was the agent we bought the house off a few years earlier and remembered how good he was to deal with.
Chris managed to get us a number of offers on our house within three days of it going live on the market. All of them within or above the range he had predicted so we were not disappointed.
It was the period after we accepted the offer where Chris was invaluable. The sale process was not simple and there were a number of issues arising, including a potential collapse in the chain. Chris was key to keeping the sale alive any everyone focussed on proceeding. I am certain we would not have completed on the sale without him on board.
Would certainly recommend him and will be using him again in the future.

Chris Read sold my house earlier this year and did a fantastic job. Not only did he secure asking price, he navigated very difficult circumstances (and a long and drawn out process), extremely diplomatically and empathetically.
I’ve bought and sold several properties but Chris is by far the best estate agent I’ve worked with. He’s professional, kind and a pleasure to worth with. Thank you Chris for all your hard work and help!

George and Louis at the Norbury office pulled off the seemingly impossible, and sold my house before it had been on the market for four full days - and for a fantastic price. Incredibly energetic, proactive and attentive agents, they did precisely what I needed them to do for me move on to my dream 'forever home'.
