We had originally advertised our house with another company, however this did not work out for numerous reasons. We contacted Hamish Homes and instantly felt at ease and confident that they wanted to do their very best for us. Stephen Jr was our agent and we can't recommend him highly enough. Can not recommend Hamish Homes enough! Especially James who went above and beyond to help me buy my dream home, James was always available 24/7 to answer any questions, regardless of how ridiculous they were! He even assisted getting my dad who is wheelchair bound into the house for a viewing, there really is not many estate agents that would go that far to help! After the sale, James was at the end of the phone if I needed anything! My previous estate agent I had used to sell my properties really couldn’t have given a monkeys once they had received their money but hamish homes, even though they had no obligation to help me were absolutely outstanding! James is an absolute asset to this company and I hope his dedication and passion to his job will be recognised by management! Give that boy a bonus!!!

Hamish Homes first caught our attention when a colleague mentioned that she & her husband had sold their bungalow for a good price. My wife and I in turn were impressed with Stephen’s businesslike attitude towards ensuring viewers of our home were ready to buy. Our home sold very quickly - we accepted a suitable offer in two weeks of marketing! Furthermore, it was great that HH’s George showed us around the property we subsequently purchased (and are very happy with) as this simplified the transactions. The cherry on the top was the generous goodie bag of mugs, coasters, key-rings, kitchen towel, apron & wine - and even kind replacement mugs after one broke! We confidently put Hamish Homes forward as first call for selling and buying a home.

I was honestly very sceptical at first, having endured a nightmarish two-year experience with Purple Bricks. But working with Tony at Hamish Homes has completely restored my faith in the sector.
Selling my parents’ cottage was an emotional process, and Tony handled it with genuine sympathy, patience, and understanding. He brought a refreshing can-do attitude to every challenge, from helping me navigate difficult neighbour issues to supporting several potential buyers with the same positivity, patience and professionalism.

If you want a headache, then you’ve came to the right place, especially if “Tony” is involved. This chap visited our house as we had initially inquired about putting it up for sale.
What can we say ,we found him extremely overpowering , full of self-importance , never listened to a thing we had to say and that was more and more evident as our meeting progressed during his visit .
Our friends had previously dealt with James who they told us couldn’t have been better , maybe “Mr Bravado”himself wants to take some coaching and people skills from him .
He told us that previously he had sold cars, and to be honest, he probably should have stuck to doing that .
We had our property valued at just under £500,000, and to be honest ,they are not a company that I would want or trust to sell our house based on his attitude and demeanour.

After my daughter bought her new home through Hamish Homes they went on to sell her maisonette. I was so impressed with their professionalism that, when I had to sell our period home of 41 years I contacted them. We were in Fife and Stephen came to see me. Selling was urgent due to my husband’s ill health. The viewers were vetted and the house was sold to the second viewer - on the market less than 24 hours, achieving an excellent price. Stephen kept in touch and was totally on the ball during a very difficult time for us.
All the work Hamish Homes had done in presenting the house and garden to the right market confirmed my opinion of their expertise. A 100% recommendation.

I did buy a house through Hamish homes, however it was not due to the agents' selling skills. On my 1st viewing which was in my lunchbreak so time was limited, Tony said he'd show me around quickly then leave me to browse on my own. He followed me around, incessantly talking about totally irrelevant things, was overbearing and "did not" leave me alone. I arranged a 2nd viewing which I had to chase 3 times for a response to, he arrived 15 minutes late. Again he did not leave me alone to view. Despite this, I made an offer which was accepted. I arranged a 3rd viewing so my son and his girlfriend could see it. Tony would not stop talking "at" my sons girlfriend, who could not escape him, I had to rescue her in the end so that she could actually look around the house. On my completion date, I would have liked to have been handed the keys so that I could open the door to my new house myself - instead I arrived to find Tony already in the house!! A very very odd way to operate and I was certainly not impressed!

Received this text after asking for an itemisation of the marketing fees, which I would think is only fair as a great many professions provide itemised bills. No issue with the home report or photos.
Further to the request, it was insinuated that we could not pay the invoice. A final demand was sent THREE WORKING DAYS later, threatening us with a debt collector.
We are definitely going with the auction house after such unprofessional behaviour from Hamish Homes. My husband dropped off the keys before we moved, I still have the text of the office address, with the date.
The invoice has been paid, at no point was their allegation that we couldn’t pay correct.
I hope someone else is warned before this is review is no doubt deleted.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Their communication was poor, despite claiming to be available until 10pm. Our viewing was booked for 5pm. We turned up at 4.59pm and were told to go and wait in the car, because there were still people viewing. When the previous viewers had left we entered the house. Agent rushed us through the house in about 10 seconds explaining ”hallway, kitchen, outdoor tap, outdoor electric.” He sat down on his phone for the remainder of the viewing. He took 2 phone calls during our 5-10 minute viewing. Agent made me feel uncomfortable. He told us that Hamish Homes are the only letting agents that do not use fisheye lenses to take pictures, which is a lie. When I asked if we could leave the property by the rear entrance to see the rest of the property, Agent stared at me and said “that’s a really weird question”. The properly was offers over £210k so we put in a very good offer of £218k (which it wasn’t worth to be honest), and the house had been on the market for months. Our solicitor was then told in writing that no offer below £225k would be considered. If we’d had this info previously, we would have never made an offer through a solicitor, that we now have to pay. Massive waste of our time and money. The only way we found out that the property had actually sold, was through Facebook. I believe the property was misleadingly advertised for their benefit. We have since purchased a different property through a different estate agent. I would avoid.

I booked a viewing on a house and on arrival was met by the agent who had his face in his mobile phone and didn’t even look up to acknowledge me. Even when I said hello he just gave an insincere “Hi” without even looking up. He then walked into the house leaving the door open which I assumed was a sign for me to follow on. House was on sale for 285k and he immediately informed me that it was worth 330k (it absolutely was not), continued to tell me very personal information about why the current occupant was selling (not relevant or any of my business). I was then told to have a look around while he continued to stand in the living room in his phone. Toilet was a mess (surely a basic rule for a viewing is to ensure it is semi-clean). For some reason we still made an offer but received no further contact from Hamish and found out the house has sold via Instagram. The most unprofessional experience I’ve encountered in 25 years of house hunting. If you like the look of one of their properties be prepared to be either ripped off or ignored.

I've called Hamish Homes twice now to attempt to book viewings for two of their properties.
First property although it stated offers over £270,000 we were told that owner wouldn't accept anything under £300,000. Why not have it on at offers over £290,000 then? Thought this seemed strange but were willing to give a second chance.
Second time we called the gentleman was rude, could hear he had the TV on loudly in the background and basically didn't seem interested in working with us to arrange a viewing time.
Perhaps this is why both properties have been on the market for several months?
I would suggest that buyers and sellers alike avoid. Plenty of agents in Inverness who actually seem interested in facilitating a sale.

We are very happy to recommend Stephen and his team at Hamish Homes. We secured a sale very quickly. However, I would not recommend going with Wrights solicitors as part of the transaction as we are still waiting for our money from Friday's sale and purchase. Why? Our solicitor is busy!!!
1. His secretary deals with this.
2. I didn't work for a big banking organisation for 14 years plus co-ordinate a busy branch to know NOTHING.
Stick with a local solicitor is my advice as again I am waiting for Wrights!!.
