We bought our first house through Hilbery Chaplain and it was far from seamless in regards to delays and issues with the solicitors but the estate agents were great, kept us up to date as much as possible. Chased our solicitors when our completion date fell through and really assisted us considering we were first time buyers and knew very little about the process. We recently used Hilbery Chaplin, Laindon to sell our home. From our very first meeting I couldn’t fault the service we received. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They did all of our viewings for us and took care of everything we needed. Once we had sold our house, we ended up buying a property that was also being sold by them. Any question or query was quickly answered and the whole process was made so easy by the whole team. Karen is amazing, she was the first person we met and was one of the main reasons we chose to use them as estate agents. Lewis did a brilliant job with the photos of our home. We ended up mainly dealing with Marcus, who was outstanding, so helpful. He showed us houses and helped to make our buying process so simple. He is a true gem! Hilbury Chaplin Laindon have been absolutely amazing with the Sale of our home. We bought through them 5 years ago and there was no hesitation to use them for the sale again. We first met Karen who was amazing during our valuation and gave us some brilliant advice for buying our new home aswell as continued support for any questions we had. She made us feel so at ease and comfortable through out the whole process. I would also like to mention Marcus who is a credit to Hilbury Chaplin - he has gone above and beyond for us on so many occasions. One Saturday evening we lost our set of door keys and didn’t know where to turn. We decided we would stay at our parents and collect the keys from the office in the morning - we text Marcus to ask what time they would be open in the morning and he promptly replied “I don’t live far from the office I can get them now for you” the relief that come over us was unbelievable and we could never thank Marcus enough for coming out on his weekend to help us. His positive and can do attitude is something that others should look up to! We will be sad to see the end of our communications when everything is finalised but we will not hesitate to get in touch again if we ever need to sell our home again.

Karen, Anabel and the team were amazing at selling our house. We sold within 2 weeks and when we ending up with a long chain to complete, they did everything to keep us up to date on where everyone was and the communication was fantastic. We wanted to move before the stamp duty increased and we had issues where no one in the chain was really pushing the completion. Anabel was great at chasing updates and pushing for completion until the very end, and even when we were struggling to exchange due to the solicitors not acting quick enough, Karen tracked down where the hold up was and ensured that the exchange went through within the time frame. We can't thank the team enough for their effort to get us completed and moved before the end of March. Their service was fantastic throughout. Definitely recommended and would use them again without hesitation.

Sadly didn't live up to expectations. After 2 weeks with them we had no viewers and we're advised to reduce our price. We weren't happy with the suggestion but decided to try it.
After 6 weeks with them we had 5 bookings but only 3 turned up and we didn't get any feed back.
2 days before we were cancelling our 8 week contract with them we had another viewer. An offer was made but unfortunately way below the minimum guide price.
The agent tried hard to get us to accept it but we couldn't as it would affect our budget going forward.
We didn't feel like the agent was working in our best interest.

After feeling slightly disappointed that our property hadn't had any offers after a fair few viewings, Valerie went out of her way to come by and offer advice and guidance.
4 days after this we recieved our offer!.
Paul catered to our every need and was nothing but transparent with every part of the process, he knew exactly what we wanted and was very patient with our very specific list of needs for our new home and after looking at several properties he found our dream home.
Karen was consistently keeping me informed of how the exchange of contracts was going and in the 6 days it took due to the top of the chain she absolutely worked solid to get exchanged before Christmas.
I can honestly say that if you want an honest, hardworking no nonsense or hardsell estate agent then hilbery chaplin laindon are exactly who your looking for.

Not to be trust .... got my property for 4 months and booked 9 viewings but only 6 turn up of which 4 we need to do it ourselves and they started giving us feedback for people who didnt turn up and when started questioning they said they got feedback wrong on different properties....also be careful on signing contract as they try to hold of ur property for long and then once contract signed then I didnt even get any calls for 2 weeks and then I have to follow up and then they got some excuses .... at last I have to wait for 4 months and then kick them out as they turned our to be useless

I have bought and sold a property through Hilbery Chaplin. My sale was an extremely difficult case and wouldn't have been possible without the help of Chris and Corrine (and Susanne) at the Laindon office. They were very helpful with the solicitors on both sides. The response to emails and constant communication was very frequent from all staff. Additionally to helping with the sale they also recognised that the buyers and myself were real people and went above and beyond what was expected throughout the sale to ensure that no one was left in a difficult personal situation (i.e. no where to stay for a few days). Finally it was just a pleasure dealing with them everyday. Even thought the sale was stressful it was always an enjoyable conversation when I was called about an update which made the whole experience a lot more enjoyable and I will miss the contact. I have bought and sold properties with Hilbery Chaplin and found that both sides of the transactions were dealt is a very professional and efficient manner. The staff offered me an excellent service and were courteous and very friendly at all times. Ian kept us up to date throughout the long and stressful process, making sure we were advised every step of the way, with where we were at any given time. Liaising with all in the chain, not just "his" client. He was always on hand and if not available would come back to us straight away, something other Estate Agents could take a lesson from. Would definitely use again. Professional and friendly, even calling after the move, to make sure that everything was as expected.
