This is the first time we have used Home for a house sale and I can honestly say we were delighted from start to finish. We would like to pass on our appreciation and thanks to the team for how well they handled our sale.<br><br>Special mention must go to Kyran. He was fantastic from the very first time he came round. He stood out from the other agents we had round. Nothing was too much trouble for Kyran and he dealt with our many questions and anxieties with patience and enthusiasm.<br><br>Kyran kept us up to date throughout the transaction and we felt that we were in safe hands.<br><br>Compared to how the other agent in the chain dealt with things, never returning calls and leaving us and their clients to constantly chase, Kyran was very proactive and helped to keep up the momentum especially towards the end. The progressions team were also fundamental in finally pushing through the sale after taking over from Kyran.<br><br>We have no plans to move any time soon but if we do, we won't hesitate to use Home again.

We are overjoyed that we will get the keys to our dream pad next week and Home have been brilliant partners in this process! We just completed the sale of my deceased mother’s house in Westcliff. Tony Kelly’s initial judgement of the market price was spot on. He just exudes honesty and professionalism! Tony had a buyer within 2 weeks of marketing last summer. Unfortunately, Mum died and the house fell into a probate limbo and could not be sold until probate was granted, a potential delay of 6 months at least. Because of this, we lost the original buyer but Tony did not give up! He found another buyer that, astonishingly, was prepared to wait and complete the sale whenever probate was granted! We completed yesterday! Also many thanks to the team that managed the progression of the chain, with a special shout-out to Sue Kelly, Tom, Dan, Amy. If you live in the Southend catchment area, do notlook any further than Homes of Leigh to sell your house.
We recently sold our family home in Westcliff. We initially put our house up for sale in summer with another well known Essex estate agent. The experience was awful! The agent cancelled viewings without us knowing, failed to attend viewings leaving us to conduct viewings by ourselves, and repeatedly asked us to drop the sale price of our house.
We spoke to friends and family about our experience and many took the stereotypical view of "all estate agents are awful". How wrong we were!! We decided to choose another local estate agent so contacted Homes of Leigh. In stepped senior valuer Tom Lambert!
Tom apologised for the negative experience we had with the other estate agent and got right to work. Through the failings of the previous agent, Tom immediately secured a buyer for our home with a welcome bonus of £10,000 more than the asking price. This was £25,000 more than the previous agent wanted us to reduce our property to. Tom regularly updated me on the progress of the sale and the process was genuinely effortless and personal.
From the moment we chose Homes of Leigh, we knew we had made the right decision. From the simple weekly Friday updates, to quality assurance callbacks. All the staff we spoke to were absolutely outstanding. We cannot thank Tom enough for his hard work and diligence throughout the entire process. Tom made it absolutely effortless and promoted a brilliantly transparent relationship.

I used Home for a rental property, the onboarding process was simple however when I came to exit the property, this in my opinion was where they fall short of decent standards expected from any estate agent, I was called one day to be told the landlord couldn’t afford their mortgage, whilst I understand this is happening across the country, better checks and a much more stringent financial disclosure should be in place to protect against these situations. When I came to exit the property, I wasnt invited to the check out which many estate agents do offer, I called the office many times but was ignored and no one called me back, eventually after emailing Mr and Mrs Kelly and their other office, I eventually was called. I asked for my deposit to be returned however was told after waiting weeks that that the landlord wasn’t happy with certain conditions in the property, Home should have a duty towards the tenant and the landlord and not be on one side, I took my case to the adjudicator after they tried to claim for a ridiculous high amount to paint a wall and for cleaning, Thankfully justice was served and it was declared that the amount they tried to claim was rejected and around 40% was awarded of their claim!! I thank the adjudicator for seeing the case for what it really was and would urge any tenant reading this, that never trust the agents quotes for any works and always fight it, because like me you will win and greed will lose.

But right at the last stages, they started interfering with our Solicitor (he was perplexed as to why they were trying to encourage us to go with their buyer when our sale was 80% done). Tried to get a viewing for a property and was one of the first to call as I was told on the phone. Then they came up with this ridiculously backwards system where I had to give all of my details, to which I also responded to pretty quickly. Had heard nothing back in a week and when I called today, was told there were already offers on the property.
I kept having the situation explained to me very poorly and ended with "alrightttttttt" which no, it definitely wasn't "alrighttttttt" a proper fob off attitude from the staff. It doesn't surprise me as all estate agents lack any decency anyway

Whilst the process of finding a tenant proved to be longer than I had originally hoped for , I have to say, I found Home to be extremely professional, thorough and hands on throughout the process. After meeting Kyran the Manager, I then dealt extensively with 2 individuals, Ms Hayley Cambell and Christine Reed. Have to say both of these individuals provided a very hands on service, are extremely driven, focussed, and thoroughly pleasant at every interaction I had with them. The agency that doesn't care about their tenants, only their landlords. They either say "oh, it's up to the landlord" or ignore emails at all. And never expect to get your deposit back. Probably good friends with my landlord and it was naive of me to expect to get the deposit back.
Update: Home Estate Agents are so kind to respond to my comments, I will add an update that 4 months later I still haven’t received the deposit although check in and checkout reports don’t match the complaints. Your landlords are not playing a fair game and you should be wiser about who you choose to represent. So stop defending yourself and just admit your tenants will have a disappointing experience.

Buying a house in this climate can be soul destroying!!! It's so competitive and there just are not enough houses to meet the demand in Leigh.
BUT when we have viewings with Home (Emma!!) coming up it feels like an absolute breath of fresh air. She understands exactly who she’s talking to and what they need. She’s honest and real, and is the ONLY estate agent we went on viewings with who genuinely cared about making sure we found the right home for us. It did not feel like another generic hard sell. I even said to my partner once, “its ok, today’s viewings are with Emma, so they won’t be painful!!”.
Nina and Sam in the office have also been lovely to deal with and make the time to give us regular updates even when the process of buying is (unavoidably) a little slow.

After a frustrating period trying to sell our house with another agency, we moved across to Home. They were able to generate new interest in the house even after missing the key first couple of months, and have been great from start to finish. Constant communication, no chasing needed for queries, available at all times either by phone or email, and just generally nice people to deal with. Special shout outs to Matt and Dan during initial buying/selling, Julia and Matt (again) once all agreements were in place, and also Tom right at the start of the process. Can't fault anyone, thank you guys!

They make you answer a lot of personal questions JUST for booking a viewing (I only wanted to see 1 flat). The place advertised looked very nice, but it wasn't worth me answering 50 questions about myself for "future viewings". I haven't even seen the property yet, why would I give you all of my info.

I must first start by saying that I don't ever leave reviews on websites but on this occasion I feel that I really must. A week ago I moved into my lovely new apartment in Leigh.
I initially approached 3 different estate agents in dealing with the sale of my property, Home being one of them. They were, by far the most dynamic, pro active & professional agents that I dealt with. They actually acted for me in not only my sale but also my new purchase.
Nina was excellent in securing my new property at a price that I was comfortable & happy with. From then on Chloe looked after me all the way. I found her to be professional, knowledgeable and most importantly personable. I knew that any concerns I had during the whole process would be overcome & resolved by her. They were. Over & above springs to mind.
Home estate agents, I cannot thank you enough. Quality service from start to finish. I will not hesitate to recommend you going forward!

Solid sales team and marketing of house, friendly and courteous at all times. Plenty of regular viewings, with their selling status known when visiting. Good accurate read on the price our property would sell at.
Chasing the sale through once the price was agreed, was a little more tricky. Difficulties sharing consistent and up to date information across a large chain made a difficult post lockdown situation more nervy than needed. Greater accuracy of information used internally and improve contacts across other estate agents would have resulted in a smoother process to completion.

From the moment I decided to move to Leigh-on-Sea, Home have been nothing but supportive - from helping me make the best of my viewings, to negotiating a good offer, to getting me over the line and to taking possession of my new home - greeting the removal men with the keys when I got stuck on the M25 in very severe weather. Sue, in particular, has been amazing. I had one or two really bad experiences with agencies while looking for my flat but when I was contacted by Hayley it was the beginning of a great turnaround for me. I saw the property I wanted but thought I wouldnt hear back from the agency but I did! From the very first conversation, Hayley has been fantastic and her level of customer service, superb. The whole process and dealing with her and Kyran over the phone and via email has been great. They have dealt with ALL my enquiries and to be honest the agency itself is just warm and friendly.

A flurry of activity at the start, but then they just lost interest. No communications, promised weekly calls but never happened.
Asked for property to be removed from the market and suddenly had a flurry of activity again.
Then this too stopped, and they didn't take the property off the market. Had to ask again.
Not once did they ask if we were happy, or why we were taking off the market.
Seems to me they lose interest and move onto other houses if they actually have to do some work

Moving house should be an exiting time. Hopes and dreams, fresh starts mixed with memories and tears.
We considered several local agents and seriously, Home were the only team that understood this and committed to our journey.
The market is sticky and all along the way we had a fantastic dialogue around tactics, advertising and the market place. We had a phenomenal amount of viewings all followed up with feedback which informed our market tactics. Home never wavered in their commitment. When selecting an agent don't underestimate the value of sales progression. Selling is the easy compared to the coordination of the sale with solicitors, removals and banks. Home have people that come with you all the way. We dare not list the team that helped as basically it's all of them. Phone at any time and they will respond, follow up and drive things forwards.
My advise is to speak with Home about their services. Look at other agents, plug in spreadsheets, assess the market and then use Home.

My mother recently sold and bought her property through Home and found them to be very professional from start to finish. She had her house on the market for over four months with another local agent who struggled to send anyone round, never kept in contact and continually advised dropping the price. A friend recommended Home to me and I suggested my mum give them a go and couldn't have asked for better.
Neil came in and took some excellent photo's which was swiftly followed up by proactive sales support in the office from Sue and her team. After finding my mother's buyer in no time at all we were passed to the sales progression department headed by Jeanette who took the deal by the horns and helped us battle the solicitors to a successful exchange and completion.
If you are looking for a local (family run) agent who will sell your home and provide a great service then Home are the ones to contact.
