I'm still waiting to hear back from an email sent over a week ago , and that was already chasing an unmet promise!!
I needed one small thing repaired in the whole letting period. Was still waiting weeks later. Eventually got it fixed myself in two days for less than half the quote House Shaw finally got for me.
Will use another agent next time.

We just bought a property in Chesham with Richard French as our estate agent. It wasn’t a straightforward chain, and the estate agent managing our sale was useless. By contrast Richard was extremely helpful, and always responded to questions and passed on messages in a timely manner - keeping things moving when we hit roadblocks. I would definitely recommend using him again.

Terrible.
When it came to getting all the rent documents and payments they replied to emails within 1-2 days.
But when it comes to getting things fixed they just ignore you.
I have not had a working sink or a properly working shower for 4 weeks (which they knew before I even moved in and didn't bother to fix or let me know about) and they don't reply to emails and are just avoiding fixing these issues.
If you are renting, avoid them at all cost. They are useless.

I am writing to express my concerns regarding the recent service experience I’ve had since Houses Shaw took over Potter and Ford. From my perspective, there appears to be a lack of understanding or capability in handling the commercial side of the business effectively.
Unfortunately, communication has been very poor. My calls and emails have gone unanswered, which gives the impression that my time and potential business are not valued. As a result, I am seriously reconsidering my engagement with your services.
I believe this is a critical area that needs urgent attention. Poor customer service can quickly erode trust and lead to a loss of potential clients like myself.
I would be happy to discuss this feedback further with a director or member of senior management if that would be helpful in improving service standards moving forward.

Nathan worked with us to secure a tenancy which I thought was optimistic, but he worked with our optimistic requirements and was able to secure a very good deal. Evidencing his competency and expertise as an agent.

As letting agents they are easy to contact and pick up quickly, however, we have been waiting on fairly urgent safety repairs for over 4 months now while paying rent on time and in full, which is why I’ve changed this from 4 to 2.

He was attentive and met difficult time restraints at each point of the move in process. His team have dealt with cleaning and maintenance issues prior to the move and have have been there since to sort out any teasing issues. The bill service offered by House Shaw is fantastic and makes paying Utilities easy with a clear understanding of costs for budgeting. When I first moved in there was no internet for weeks- HouseShaw failed to mention this (and still tried to charge full rent).
They have tried to take a hugely unreasonable chunk of deposit (£120 for cleaning and £250 for a mattress).
Please be aware and take pictures for DPS evidence! Don't be naive like me and think they won't try it on.

Please find attached a picture of the '£250 mattress' with accompanying broken furniture and smashed tiles.
Also attached 'clean' 'fridge freezer'- you can see the dirt on the middle shelf and fridge door shelf. It is clearly not a freezer or clean. (Pics from initial handover).
3rd picture is of the room as I have left it (after spending a day deep cleaning). The reply below describes this as 'quite a messy condition'.
I have rented for 10 years with various agencies- houseshaw are the first and only to make such ridiculous claims.

Houseshaw have been managing my rental house for the last 5 years and I've always been really happy with the service they provide. John, Steve and Chloe are all super friendly and helpful and do all the jobs I wouldn't want to do. They are responsive to my calls/emails/queries. I trust their judgement on decisions about the tenants and house and I can rely on them to do whatever needs to be done. When a tenant leaves, they always find a new one quickly and the rooms have never been empty for more than a few weeks. If a tenant doesn't pay promptly they are on the case. They really take the stress out of being an HMO landlord.
I am so glad John bounded up the garden path when I was weeding 5 years ago to ask me if I'd like him to manage the house, and that I put my trust in him and said yes!

The HouseShaw team is like my extended family now. If you are looking for letting agents, then don't look any further, just go with them. They are extremely professional and very knowledgeable.
