We are a small family with 2 small children and sold our 2 bed flat through the estate agents Hunters in Carshalton. I had some bad experience previously with a few property agents where they didnt provide any personal experience and didnt work with us to achieve our goals . With Hunters it was the complete opposite. Fleur came to do the valuation and straightaway we knew she was the one we wanted to handle our sale. Once hired, Ceejay dealt with the viewings and day to day communication. Both Ceejay and Fleur were extremely helpful, proactive and gave us that personal touch which we needed. We had a few issues in the process as were also buying a house and were in a chain. But Hunters always were on our side supporting us in critical decisions, suggesting the next steps and chasing the other agents and solictors. They made the process smooth and easy for us by taking away the hassle and making sure the right outcomes were achieved at every stage. The whole process took about 8 months because of some issues higher up in the chain but with Hunters support we managed to sell our flat and move in to the house we wanted! Till the very end both Ceejay and Fleur made sure that we were informed of everything happening around us. They as a team kept each other always informed of the situation and made sure that our sale completed successfully. We are very grateful that we chose them and would recommend anyone locally to hire them as their agents, they will not disappoint - thank you :)

I cannot recommend Fleur and her team highly enough. As an overseas landlord, it is difficult to find someone capable of managing my property but my experience with Hunters was exceptional . They found me a fantastic tenant, managed my property while it was let and kept me updated with timely inspections and dealt with maintenance issues when needed. They found me a buyer and helped immensely with the sale process by communicating regularly with all parties to ensure we met my deadline of completing by the end of the tax year. My 1st contact was with Lauren on a viewing, she was great, friendly and knowledgeable about the property. Being new to it all, she talked me through the process required, and made me feel quite assured about everything I needed to do.
Upon placing a "bid" the next day, I then needed further assistance, sadly on Lauren's day off, however I was assisted by Fleur, and she was both amazingly helpful and patient with me, overall the whole experience has been very professional and assuring dealing with people that seem to care. - we lived out of country when we signed the contract for this property. a lot of agents wouldn’t accomodate that but Hunters did.
- they use an online reporting system for any issues that arise at the property. They would respond to an issue within one day and would sort it out within 3-4 days which was marvelous.
- very friendly staff and good communication.

- when we received the property it was in a very dirty state. despite agreeing that the carpets will be washed before our contract starts, it wasn’t done. So we had to stay with friends for about 4-5 days until we painted it ourselves and a new caroet was put in essentially making the property livable.
- when we left the property we were charged
42£ for a missing smoke alarm because we accidentally took it with us even though we said we will return it.
96£ for a broken radiator control valve even though it was alteady broken when we got here but we didn’t need it so we didn’t report it.
100£ for the cleaning!!! even though when we left the property it was 100 times cleaner then when we got it.

The team have been very responsive and clear in their communications, from the initial viewing through to the present, and I've been particularly impressed by how well some teething issues with the flat were resolved - you can report any problems using an online portal, and Hunters have sent contractors to fix the problems very promptly and efficiently. I've had some awful experiences with letting agencies in the past but Hunters Carshalton has proved consistently that they are not like other letting agencies.
The team has been very attentive to my needs from start to finish and responded to both the Covid-19 pandemic and any queries with a rare balance of professionalism and friendliness, which demonstrates consistently good customer service and made me feel valued as a client.
From my experience, this level of service is unfortunately hard to come by in this industry,, which is why I rely on reviews like this one to steer me in the right direction. If you have a choice of agents, then I believe choosing Hunters Carshalton would be a wise option.

Be aware of this agency! Avoid at any cost! Mr Graham's attitude towards my family over the phone and via emails is very unprofessional and rude. He has treated all of us with not respect at all times as a whole. Graham mocked us three tenants multiple times. Due to issues and errors in Home let system, Mr. Graham Tickner advised Homelet to closed my report on the day three incompleted to my income (data access report) so we had to go with a quadruple deposit, as we were told if not we not getting back our holding fees. The evidence given to the Hunters team, they did not try and back or help their customers. Instead they will go out of their way to tell you they do not care it is your problem. Mouse activities, Ruths, from a day one, gas repair i.e. Not one care will be given by Hunters after you give up your money. I must say though as long as you line their pockets with money they will be very happy and lovely team.
Graham expose his self publicly with ridiculous, nonsense comments to our reviews to the set criteria to let by their policy GROSS Incomes !!! See attached.
Lack of elementary knowledge.
For a year in this tenancy we were charged at two different price list and our holding fee became simply "admin cost", in total of over £1k, incl interest earned at our money?!!!
At the ends of our tenancy at 52b Oakhill Road, SM1 3AE, Hunters Rand refuse to schedule an inventory check out. It has proved again their way of manipulation towards tenants. We had to arranged our inspection and pay again at our cost. In their price list applies inventory check out fees of £102, the amount we paid at the begining. At the end we received email that it was free of charge and we actually paid for inventory check in - not listed at the price list! Fraud!!! See attached.
Also makes abusive phone calls, some of which are recorded and in an emails. This is making me feel very distressed and anxious.

"This can only be determinated by a court following a trial. Mr Graham COULD BE more professional" ?! Graham has claimed loss to my complaint and this was dismissed completely! Graham, your comments have nonsense. As you know your agency still holding our money for no reason. Learn to treat people with respect to get this respect in return! My review is based on your service!

RUDE and INCOPETENT staff, their referencing agency cannot read a Tax return letter from the HMRC, they also do not accept pay slips as a proof of income, nor do they know the difference between Self Employed, and Full/part time Employed. Graham will laugh at your income because "he spends more money on his holidays than you earn in a year" ETC. AVOID at ALL costs. Also making complaints is pointless as Graham is the owner of the carshalton branch and he will ignore your complaint even if it is sent by Citizen Advice.
Apparently as far as homelet and hunters are concerned my GROSS earnings are under 10,000 even though HMRC states 13000 Gross! GROSS is what homelet and hunters take as a number, even my NET income is higher than 10,000, 13,000(gross)x0.8 is 10,400 NET so both GROSS and NET are over the requirement yet i still dont meet their requirements for 10,000 gross? and i earn over 13,000. make your own assumptions people.

Lettings Side - If there was a 0 star option I'd select it. This relationship started well but 2 years on I am desperate to extract myself. If you want a letting agent that is only concerned about their fees and defending poor management then these are your guys.
I'm trying to end this one based on their track record of failure but all I get is a request for all fees due up until the end of the contract (somewhere around 4k for doing nothing).
Sure, these guys will be good and cheaper than other agents if you have a good tenant. The minute you get a problem, these guys have all the excuses ready for why it's not their fault. My favourite was when one of the team defended their fees saying 'we showed your house'. To which I had to remind them they didn't and if they had, they would have seen the dog (pets banned) that was breeching the agreement and did 90% of the damage I ended up paying to address (Oh and I nearly lost my new tenant). Lucky I seem to have good guy in now and we've found it best to cut Hunters out of things.. although they still want their money of course.

Hunters Carshalton were amazing with us. My wife and I found Fluer to be lovely and professional. She always kept us well informed of what was going on. Our move didn't happen in the end due some uncertainty from our potential landlord's part (who by the way was also very upfront and honest about what was going on). We just wanted to recognise that Hunters staff did good by us and for that they deserve a good review from us.

Hunters have assisted us in the rental our first home for almost a year now. There were a few unforeseen issues with the property after we moved in but all we're ironed out speedily and to our expectations.
Most recently we had a water valve in our house go bad, causing water leakage into our garden - after a quick call to Hunters it was solved within 2 hours.
Would recommend to anyone, and use them again for any future moves.

Ive been in my property for 3 years now which is managed by hunters and i have to say i am more than happy with the service they provide me with. 3 years ago i was contacting 100s of properties for me and my littlen and estate agents didnt want to know as i guess a single parent is a put of dispite having a job which ive been in 9yrs & regular income. When i got in touch with hunters about the property i am in now they werent put off or judgemental. They were helpful, riliable and made me feel at ease about the whole process. Since having moved ive found all the staff to go a little above and beyond my littlen has an illness which they never fail to ask how his progress is going whenever i am im contact. They have always been punctual with any request ive made or any repairs ive needed done. Ive recently discussed moving to a bigger property which they have put me at ease and reassured me that they will help to find me another suitable property within their region. I do not think i could leave hunters as i feel they have made my whole experience easy and stress free. I look forward to being a tenant with them for many more years to come. All the staff are fantastic and do an amazing job. I would highly recommend them. ????

Reading the negative feedback from Mr Boeteng, I have to agree..... I went down to the office to register last Saturday - 15th April & the office was closed at 12.05pm. No one there.....?! I wanted to register my details & request a viewing but as Hunters were closed on a Saturday, I couldn't get my viewing. Very frustrating but I feel sorry for their owners who probably don't even know that this company have very few staff, preventing people like me from viewing their properties.
I spoke to them on the phone Monday, but no one called me back to book in a viewing........ I've since bought a property through another agent but would definitely not use Hunters again.

Would never use them again!
I was led to believe this company was an independent business, but unfortunately learnt after signing up that they're a franchise, part of a big chain.
I found Fleur to be quite pleasant on my first meeting but when things started going downhill I soon saw her true colours- quite rude & patronising! With hindsight she over valued my Apartment by £30,000 & when she demanded a price reduction 2 weeks after signing up, didn't like it when I said no, reminding her she valued it at the higher price not me!
They said they'd do the viewings for me but when it came to it, they gave excuses saying they were double booked or a colleague was delayed so could I do them. This messed me about & I wasn't happy.
I recently went to collect my keys on a Saturday last month & the office was locked with no one there?! I then found out it's often locked on a Saturday as only 1 staff member is in who goes out on appointments. No one to cover so the office is locked. I had to go back on Monday. I was understandably fuming because I wouldn't have chosen this company had I known they have very few staff & often close up on Saturdays.
After arguing with Fleur, I've ripped up my contract with Hunters & have gone to a more professional agent. The new agent have provided better presented particulars of my property & better service. I've now sold my apartment & am pleased Hunters aren't getting the commission after the terrible service & misleading me on the price of my apartment.

A cold-blooded, thick-skinned team that would trash anything in their way for a bigger commission. They would suit the seller, but as a buyer, I would be vigilant, as they are sneaky and they would stab you in the back with no remorse.
Our story is that we had two offers accepted for two properties to buy, one of which was advertised by Hunters-Carshalton. We were honest (something that we learned, one should never be when dealing with estate agents) and told them that upfront. We chose their property in the end, and pulled out from the other one. Though, they haven’t taken it off the market and continued arranging viewings, so that a week later we had a call from them telling us that we were gazumped… I know it’s not illegal and that it’s a common practice around here, but that’s so inconsiderate.
So, thank you for ruining our lives! We could have had a home, hadn't we chosen the property advertised by this bunch of heartless people, as prices are going up so rapidly and it is so hard to get an offer accepted nowadays. If you are considering buying through them, I would think twice!
