During the purchase of our soon to be home, Dan has been available to answer our queries and provide information regarding local trades people etc as we are a little out of area. His regular updates provided both my husband and myself with reassurance and an excellent, professional service from start to finish, during what has been a challenging process.

I put my house on the market with Jackson-Stops Chipping Campden office and Rupert Wakley took charge of a very difficult situation for me. My husband was extremely ill and I had to take on the task of selling our family home - something I had no experience or knowledge of. At the same time I had to spend many hours every day at the hospital and my life was in a complete turmoil. Rupert and his team calmly guided me through the process, dealt with everything sensitively and professionally and made an incredibly difficult transition much easier to deal with. Even when the initial offer fell through, his advice got us moving forward again very quickly. Despite a few hiccups along the way I managed to sell, move to our new house and bring my husband home from hospital before he died. I can’t thank Rupert and his team enough. As a footnote, on the day of my husband funeral, Rupert was unable to attend but he was represented by his wife Annabelle, who works alongside him. We, as a family were very touched.

Buying a property can present significant challenges and give rise to a good deal of stress at the best of times and, even more so, during the current period of national economic uncertaintly.
Rupert and his team greatly faciliated our purchase process by their excellent communication, and straightforward, whole some, even handed approach. It was clear to me that while Rupert and his team were properly focused on doing their level best for the seller, they were appropriately understanding of the challenges faced by a buyer in the current economic climate.
There were a number of occasions when the sale - purchase process faltered for a variety of understandable reasons. Rupert and team handled all aspects of the sale quickly and attentively. Though not the cheapest estate agent in this locality, I was from the outset impressed by Rupert's preparation for our valuation meeting, his preparedness to suggest ways I could improve the presentation of the house, and his personal "grit" ... I felt he would fight my corner for me, and had a sound understanding of the market context. The Jackson-Stops team generated a very rapid and accurate floorplan, a selection of 'photos from which we negotiated what should feature in the brochure, and (minor but important to me) made changes in promotional text. Armed with this high-quality marketing material, and using the Jackson-Stops database to source relevant potential purchasers, the office efficiently arranged numerous viewings in very short time, and secured a second visit, followed by an offer which (with Rupert's assistance in negotiating it) quickly translated into an agreed sale at full asking price (£500k) ... all this within six days of going to market. Once a buyer had been found, the Jackson-Stops office kept me informed of progress, and helped me reach a mutually agreeable compromise on the sale price post-survey (they wanted £10k off, we settled on £6k). All in all, a very good result, and one which I regard as worth the commission. I'm glad I chose Jackson-Stops as my selling agent, no regrets. Highly recommended.

In searching for a good estate agent, my priorities were that the company should be good at communication with all parties and should regularly report back on progress, while also being efficient in all aspects of the sale process, knowledgeable of the local market, and sensitive to the somewhat delicate matter of selling a family property empty of furniture but full of memories. Tremendous service. When the market was extremely busy, our house was on the market within 4 days of instructions being given. Nine viewings followed within 2 weeks, yielding 5 offers. Later, when our buyer's buyer defaulted, we had to re-market our property the next morning, and again we received a tremendous response from the whole team at JSS, yielding 7 viewings within 4 days. We interviewed various local estate agents before choosing Jackson-Stops to manage the sale of our home. Rupert immediately demonstrated a professional approach and answered all of of our questions.
His team were all involved in the the sales process and took time to visit our property, carefully listening to us and understanding the features of the home and how it formed part of the village in which we lived. This was important as they were charged with showing potential purchasers round and marketing our house.
During the sale our chain presented various challenges but Rupert remained calm and ensured communication between all parties remained open and amicable. We expected a tight timescale to achieve completion and the Jackson Stops team worked hard to ensure we achieved this.
While Jackson-Stops was not the cheapest agent on the block we would recommend them to all our friends and we would certainly ensure Rupert managed any future sale.

It all took place during and post the 2020 summer Covid lockdown, and despite all of this the whole process from initial listing to completion took only 16 weeks!
