I recently sold my flat in SW17 via Holleigh and Xander at John D Wood, Clapham. As an overseas seller (I emigrated to Australia many years ago) and with there being tenants in the property who understandably weren't happy that the property was being sold mid-tenancy, there were several hurdles to overcome. I can't recommend more highly the John D Wood team, who were incredibly helpful, understanding and professional throughout the entire process. If you're looking for representatives who are prepared to go the extra mile to ensure a smooth sale, look no further.

Really had a poor experience when recently dealing with this office on Abbeville Road. I called in asking about a property and was dealt with by someone who clearly didn't know anything about the area and even less about the property I enquired about. They then tried to bully me into viewing it and were thoroughly unprofessional from start to finish. I would give them a wide steer if you are considering using them. They fulfill the typical stereotype of an estate agent who knows little but acts like they are experts. Big disappointment.

On our first viewing with Charley from JDW we knew from the get go that JDW provided a different, much higher calibre service compared to the other local estate agents we had dealt with. Estate agents generally have a poor reputation amongst us non-estate agents. We don’t quite trust them and don’t like the way they use our first names every time they say something to us. And I have to admit that I’ve felt this way myself – until now.
Because I have had to completely change that opinion having experienced the brilliant, patient and honest support we received when buying a house through John D Wood in Abbeville Road – and in particular from the wonderful branch manager Kesha Foss-Smith, who was so lovely, helpful, useful and friendly that we would have asked her to be godmother to one of our children, had they not already had some.
From the outset, Kesha was a refreshing change. She didn’t sell at us, or call us all the time. She only showed us a couple of houses that, having spoken to us, she thought we would love. And she was perfectly right. We fell in love with one of them as soon as we came through the front door and offered the next day.
Over night, Kesha (and her team of course) proceeded to become so much more than estate agents. She became our effortlessly efficient administrator, legal adviser, trusted source of information and pretty much ‘one of us’. She kept us sane through the long and anxious wait for mortgage approvals and legal documents. She was always there whenever we called. And then when it finally did all go through, she was the first person to congratulate us and even brought a bottle of champagne round, literally brimming with genuine happiness for us. Her smiles were almost as big as our own.
So if you, like me, have rather a negative view of estate agents, I suggest you get yourself over to John D Wood on Abbeville Road. It won’t be long before you’ll be changing your views too.

We recently used John D Wood to rent a flat. My housemate and I are exceptionally pleased with the service we received, particularly from our agent Donal Kerr. With his help, we managed to secure the property extremely quickly (around 24 hrs). I have been really impressed by everyone at John D Wood, it has made the move easy as everyone has been so helpful. We had quite a tight time scale and budget which was making our search quite difficult, but Jessica Richards was really friendly and personable. We had been dealing with quite a few letting agents and because of the time crunch some had not been overly helpful. There was no pressure with John D Wood and they seemed interested in our needs rather than trying to move property. When we found our flat all the paperwork was completed with ease, Dale Wilson was thorough and accommodating to my schedule. Everyone who has been in contact with us so far have been pleasant and lovely to deal with (including Adam Ball and Mara Marchesi). Myself and two others recently signed a house with John D Wood & Co through agent Jessica Richards who I am thoroughly impressed with. The process was smooth and efficient regardless of the fact that the three of us were on entirely different schedules. Jessica happily spoke to all of us on the phone whenever we had questions (which was very frequently) and helped us navigate the offer in a manner we were very pleased with. She arranged multiple viewings that fit in with our schedule and was always available for assistance. Although the process was very quick from start to finish, we never felt pressured or rushed. Jessica did an outstanding job and I would recommend her and John D Wood highly based on our experience.

I think it's safe to say we all have a certain view of estate agents however Chelsea at John D Wood really surprised us and exceeded our expectations.
Chelsea went out of her way to understand our requirements and suggest properties appropriate to our needs. Many agents take you on a wild goose chase to get the 'close' however Chelsea just tried to help. Quite a refreshing experience.
A massive thanks for all the help and your incredibly friendly approach.
