I'm a first time renter and have had a brilliant experience with everyone at Martin & Co Saltaire so far!
Special shout out to Carol who has helped me throughout the whole process. Carol arranged the viewing for me and was present from the beginning. As a first time renter I had an abundance of questions, some of them probably a bit silly but she had so much patience with me. Carol was in constant communication from application right the way up until collecting my keys and explained everything well.
Carol was also kind enough to allow me to have a second viewing once the existing tenant had moved out and when I identified a few things that might need repairing she was again fully on it and in constant communication which made me feel reassured that I could count on Martin &Co throughout my entire tenancy.

Angela has been managing my rental property and I honestly couldn’t ask for better support. She is incredibly responsive, organised and always on top of everything that needs doing. Angela has been extremely helpful through out my stay in my house, wherein she has helped us whenever we needed something done or needed an extension of contract owing to my wife being pregnant. I would have loved to stay back had it not been for me buying my own place. The owner of the house 11 Cecil street has also been lovely and supportive. I would recommend everyone to use Martin and Co as your home solutions as they are very professional and helpful. They keep the tenants always first for all their needs. Hannah from Martin and co was outstanding from start to finish, I called to view a property and my availability was a little awkward, she quickly got onto seeing if we could view to work around me which was arranged, from applying to the property to moving in she couldn’t do enough for us, kept me up to date every step of the way right to arranging the keys to be picked up at an alternative branch that was convenient for us. My wife and I have been dealing with Martin & Co., Saltaire for the past 10 years. In that time they have been responsible for managing both our apartments in Bradford which they have always done with great efficiency. They provide a first class service that includes sourcing and vetting prospective tenants, collecting the rental income and dealing with any issues that may arise. Very importantly they are ALWAYS contactable by telephone!
A big shout out in particular to Carol Stubbs and our property manager, Ian Tait but all the staff I have had dealings with have always been friendly and helpful. They also have an excellent sales team that recently helped us sell one of our properties in double quick time.
I have no hesitation in recommending this branch of Martin & Co.

I submitted an urgent repair due to a leaky boiler on Saturday via the company's portal, and also contacted their out of hours phone number. Angela got on the phone, and got an engineer out just over an hour after we spoke. The engineer diagnosed the problem, told me the temporary solution to reduce the leak, and said he would be back to replace the damaged part. Could not have asked more from Angela, brilliqnt service

Today me and my partner viewed the property, it was a lovely property with a very homely feel. It is very spacious and very modern, we took a liking too it straight away. The garden is very spacious and has an even surface and although it is a corner house it still feels very private with the nature around the house. I'm honestly not sure where to start, Martin and Co have been brilliant. Never had a problem. But recently out windows were smashed in our front room and kitchen. This is where Angela stepped in. She saw to it that we had someone out that day to measure the windows. And get replacements sorted ASAP. Then just 24 hrs from having the windows boarded we had glass back in and beat there 2 day turn around, But this was more than enough to justify leaving a review, as so many just leave the negative comments. But to add to this Angela has also stepped in to help sort the problem what caused the windows and I can't be thankful enough for the effort taken . So from us both thanks you

Hannah is a lovely sweet girl and we clicked immediately over our love for dogs! It was really important that our new property was suitable for our anxious dog (crazy dog lady alert)
Hannah very kindly let us bring our dog down to the viewing. She was enthusiastic and friendly and gave a full show round (covid safe of course) with background knowledge of previous history and truthfully opinions.

Absolutely fantastic service from Hannah! She sold my house in a record amount of time at the price I wanted, she helped me from start to finish through the sale. Took excellent photos of the house, made life easy for me with the viewings and even once sold STC gave me advice about conveyancers. We moved 300+ miles from Bournemouth to rent a property from Whitegates. Joe, who has now left the business was lovely and our move in was perfect. We paid all our rent up front.
However, we started to discover lots of problems with the property after we moved in. The sockets in the kitchen were arcing, tripping the power and there was rising damp in both the kitchen and the lounge.
Wallpaper peeling, large holes in the lounge hidden by a large canvas, bath panel came away, chimney leaked water into the bedroom, bits of brick landing on my fiancee's desk among other issues...
Whitegates dragged their heels on every repair and then 3.5 months in, decided to tell us we were to be issued with a Section 21 eviction notice (this notice is not like a Section 8, which is for difficult tenants). We were compliant and started looking for properties, but understandably wanted compensation for our move. We will have to move all our belongings again, change all our addresses, change insurance (with fees) etc. We asked for £480 to cover this cost. They refused point blank.
Note that the cost of a Section 21 is already £144 just to start it up. They didn't offer any assistance whatsoever before informing us of the nuclear option.
The general property manager, Denise who has worked for Martin and Co for 20 years is defensive and difficult to handle. Very quick to accuse you of being threatening/condescending which I'm sure you can understand, only make people more angry.
We're fully expecting them to try to get us on non existent costs from the deposit scheme as revenge for this review. We have nothing left to lose so we want to make sure nobody else suffers as we have.
Avoid this agent at all costs. Might be difficult as they seem to have half of Keighley but stick with it.
Love you though Joe, where ever you've gone. Hope you enjoyed the chocolates.

I have dealt with Whitegates over a period of 18 months, I started off by letting my property through the Tenant Find service they offer. Joe was key in finding me a great tenant who still lives there now. He was always prompt with keeping me updated on the referencing process and very knowledgeable of all aspects of the lettings business. When I came to sell my property I chose to go back to Whitegates seen as they'd delivered a spectacular service through letting my property. I decided to sell it with tenant in situe. Matthew arrived on time for the valuation and was great at explaining the process. I was impressed that the branch manager Robert took time in photographing the property and they were quite astonishing! The property sold within a matter of weeks to an investor Landlord and Hannah was amazing at aiding me through the sales process. Such a well oiled machine, even Olivia who hadn't been there too long when I came to sell the property was polite and professional. I really can't recommend them enough, such a fantastic team! I'd considered dual listing but why would I want the hassle when I could deal with such a fantastic team! Thank you all, if I ever need to Let or Sell a property again I know where I'm going!

Whitegate fully managed our property and gave us the report that it is in good condition and well looked after by the tenant only to find that the property had been used to grow drugs and it was trashed.
Had to spend hundreds to bring it to the level where it could be rented again.
Will never recommend them to anyone.
They refused to accept any responsibilty.

I had the please of speaking with Joe and Matthew in Regards to renting one of their listed properties.
Matthew Showed us around the property and answered any and all of our questions. They even helped us clarify a few important details with the landlord before putting in our application so as not to waste anyone time or money.
We put in our application only to find the landlord had decided to change their terms and amongst other things was just unethical and dishonest.
The team handled the situation extremely well and even though we ended up without the property.. I would definitely use these guys again and I would 100% recommend these guys for your letting/sales needs.
You can't beat honest and helpful!!!

Whitegates Keighley were fantastic from start to finish. They created a great listing, put together a detailed floor plan on an awkward large property, very professional in their approach and delivery of service. I found the whole staff very friendly and courteous and nothing was too much trouble. My property was in an area of low interest and yet within a week of the property being listed, we got viewings. We agreed a target to sell within 3 months which I thought was optimistic but we agreed an offer with 2 months. Outstanding.
In my dealings with Whitegates, I got to know the branch manager, Robert McCarthy, a very pleasant chap with a wealth of experience within the industry who lives and breathes property!
Have used other Estate Agents in the past, they don't even come close. Highly Recommended Agent.

Awful experience, estate agent was rude and judgemental. He wouldnt take us to view the other places as he thought we wouldnt be able to handle it and it would upset us. He also said to us that every other estate agent wouldnt be interested in us because of a few glitches. When infact weve now found somewhere with an estate agent who was very helpful.
Will not be going back to this branch. Very patronising bloke
