I'd needed to make a claim (upheld by the Property Ombudsman) against another local estate agent, who had dragged out and delayed this 2019-20 (probate) sale, in order to favour their buyer. After the above delay and attendant loss of several potential buyers was stopped in its tracks, with Miles & Barr being appointed to clear up the mess, they delivered a sale (and with yet more delays around the rent-a-roof solar panels installed by our parents - but they got there in the end), albeit at a lower price than we'd initially hoped for.... They would not sign us up until we had paid them £303.00 for their solicitors and £199.00 for photos and I think it was a further £60.00 for money laundering. Four viewings in 23 weeks. No weekly phone update as promised, we had to chase them. When we gave them 2 weeks notice, they didn't even acknowledge the email until the last day of the 2 week period. The branch manager even had the cheek to tell us he did not rate the area we lived in. Diabolical service!... Read more

I was advised a price for my property which had gone up by £10,000 by the time i signed the contract which is fine i am not the professional. All the feedback following was that the price was too high and at no point did anyone ask me what i was willing to take as a low offer as it turned we didn't sell and have come off the market for now ... Booked Friday, 5 building to see today with Dover Office, arrived this morning from London, they couldn't find their appointments anywhere, were not helpful in any way. said they could book for tomorrow instead!!!!
