Despite not being able to push through tenancy because of a very sudden decision to stop plans of relocating, the people I had communication with in Nicholas James group were so professional. Everyone I talked to over the phone was so friendly, warm and accomodated my concerns well. I still got my holding deposit back as referencing had not been started yet after calling them of my sudden withdrawal from application. In the future, should I fully decide to relocate in Brighton, I will still do business with NJ. Thank you so much and more power to everyone in NJ.

I was recommended NicholasJames by a family member and boy was that good advice. Within days of making the initial contact, the bungalow was on the market realistically priced. With over 20 viewings in the first week, we accepted an offer after just 8 days. Nick, my main point of contact throughout the transaction was excellent in terms of communication keeping us regularly informed, mainly by phone, of all developments sometimes outside of normal office hours. The estate agency to use in Brighton & Hove: and I don’t say that lightly. I’d read previous reviews on how good the service was at Nicholas James, and I really liked how Nic presented the agency to me and the sense of trust he built. And so, after speaking with a number of different agencies, I decided to go with them.
But then the proof is always in the pudding. I can say that Nicholas James has been absolutely outstanding from start to finish. The service has felt personal, modern, and attentive throughout and nothing has been too much trouble. They kept me and my buyer informed at every step, and made sure every little detail was taken care of and followed up on. The team are clearly top pros and work closely together to ensure everything just works throughout - something that, in my experience, is not always the case with estate agents after the initial sales pitch.
Amongst all the agencies and solicitors involved in my selling and buying process, they were comfortably the most proactive and professional in keeping on top of everything and ensuring the entire process ran smoothly. A special shout out to Luke, who was an absolute star throughout the process. A credit to his profession.

I was recommended Nicholas James by a neighbour who had used them and said the service was exemplary.
I contacted Nicholas James and James came round to value the property and put me at ease with the process so we decided to sell with the company. Our property was a rather complex sale due to the nature of the property and it was on the market for quite some time. I was kept informed on a weekly basis and Nick worked with us on a new plan of action which resulted in our property being sold rather rapidly which was wonderful. Nicholas James kept us informed throughout and even recommended a solicitor who was superb and allowed the process to run smoothly. The whole sale was excellent with constant updates, no question was too small or daft and the service we received was excellent. My partner is a customer service veteran and even he was impressed which rarely happens!
I genuinely think if it wasn’t for Nicholas James we would not have been able to sell and move into our new family home ahead of a new addition next month. What was important to me was finding a genuine and transparent agent who would act in our best interests. James and I met at the property. I had arranged to see two other agents. By some distance James was the best. Not just about price and some of the usual services, but transparency, honesty and a very professional approach to keeping me informed. Importantly he would take personal responsibility for the viewings, many agents say this but don't deliver, James did. At every stage he led not only the sale and viewings but kept me informed of progress far more efficiently than our conveyancer ever managed. He made the whole process reassuring and professional.

James was helpful from start to finish. Of course we were using lots of different agents at the start as we arranged multiple viewings over town. James was instantly more accommodating, helpful, and friendly than the others. When issues cropped up we knew James would be on the end of the phone to calmly explain our options.
I can confidently say that it's unlikely the sale would have gone through had James not been as hard working as he was. I'm glad the seller didn't use a different agent as we probably wouldn't have just moved into our fist flat!
It's a shame it's not the sort of service we can provide repeat business for (and hopefully it'll be some time until we need their services again) but when we make out next move we'll undoubtedly use Nicholas James and we will recommend them to as many people as we can!

We used Nicholas James for the sale of our flat based on a recommendation and cannot recommend them highly enough. Everyone always imparts the importance of having a good solictitor you can trust but what we found is that it equally if not more important to have that relationship with your agent. From begining to end we had up to daily updates from them at times when we needed them the most, and after our first buyer pulled out after 5 months and just prior to exchange they were fantastic at being motivated to get our flat on the market again immediately and we found a new buyer within 3 days. I have no doubt that we could have lost our purchase property had Nicholas James not gone to the effort of effectively doing our sellers agents job for them in getting the chain to commit to staying with us, we then finally moved just 4 weeks later and couldn't be more happy with the service we received. Using Nicholas James to sell our house was an excellent decision. They give you the best of both worlds. A pair of expert local estate agents with an easy to use website which keeps to up to date with how far along the process you are. Plus they have a competitive fixed price option. They keep you up to date with progress but don’t over communicate so you can get on with your normal life. They found a buyer for our property a day after the advert went live and managed the whole process with the other estate agents, solicitors and vendors brilliantly. Just over 3 months later and we were all moved into our new house. I can’t recommend James and Nick highly enough. They made the whole process effortless.

Dealing with Nicholas James was such a great move for us. Both Nick and James guided us through the moving process in a very calming manner that gave us confidence in selling our house, even when we thought otherwise. They were always right, always had an alternative idea and their experience is what got us through - I have no doubt whatsoever about that.
I think they have the mix between traditional and modern estate agency down to a tee, and we ALWAYS recommend them to our friends (we actually sold our house pretty much on the same day as our best friends, who also went through NJ!)

I am renting for over 15 years in different locations such as Germany, Spain, London and now in Hove.
And I have to say that James has been the best letting agent I worked with by far. The whole experience has been outstanding end to end and James went even beyond by doing things like allowing repetitive viewings of the property or talking me through how to set up utility bills etc.
If you're looking for an agency that still puts the customer first and doesn't simply sell you things by having standard monologues known from big cooperations, you want to work with this one!

Having bought my flat off plan through James when he was at Sawyer and Co, and knowing the way in which he markets a property, there was only once person I wanted to sell the property nearly four years later.
Nicholas James were fantastic from start to finish and made - what was a complicated move at times - pass smoothly, promptly replying to my endless emails, calls and providing general reassurance.

Just moved into a new flat in Peacehaven and couldn't recommend Nicholas James highly enough. I dealt with James who was very helpful and answered all the questions I had (which were a lot) considering this is the first time I have rented since leaving home.
Had a load of viewings to find the perfect place with different agencies and James was always keen to tell us about a new property that was available within our price range, unlike some other agencies who weren't bothered.
Had a hiccup with the bath when we moved in and was sorted straight away. I feel confident if there were any other issues then they would be sorted!!

The whole experience was seamless from start to finish .
The property let on the first day of viewings and I was kept constantly in touch with updates right up to the day the tenant moved in . Having let out property before this was by far a much more professional experience and far less stressful for me .
We have since had Nick round to do a valuation on our home which again was done with great professionalism but no pressure .
