After being left homeless twice by another local letting agent, we went to view a property with Northwood on the 26th August. We immediately said yes. Obaida was polite and friendly at the viewing and said he would do everything he could to get us moved in to the property ASAP. Our offer was accepted the next day and a move in date of the 2nd September was proposed. As I went back to school that day, we asked if there was any chance it could be 1st September instead. Obaida and Emma said they couldn't promise that as it depended on references being completed quickly enough but they would try their hardest to make that happen for us. We received the reference requests via email the morning of 28th August and by lunchtime, everything had been processed and the let agreed, including a move in date of the 1st. Obaida and Emma were both amazing and we couldn't sing their praises enough after making this happen for us so quickly! The whole experience was professional and smooth sailing and we'd recommend them, and Northwood to anyone.

They helped me find a home. As a dog owner, I always felt that no place truly suited me — but they made the effort to find somewhere where I feel genuinely at home, with a lovely garden for my little dog to play with my sister’s dog.
The customer service has been excellent. The application process was quick, and they’ve been very transparent throughout. Obaida and Sue have been absolutely wonderful and incredibly helpful.

Update: they are now attempting to steal all of our deposit. Didn’t let us know about supposed damage to the property which we did not do. They are a bunch of liars and con artists.
I rented from them for 7 years and always paid my rent and stuck to my contract. They evicted me due to the landlord selling the property which is fine but they have not given our deposit back and keeps evading questions about when we will receive our deposit back. Be careful when renting through this company.

While renting, they were lovely people, very well prepared and willing to help.
Quick response regarding the issue we had.
Of course they tried to charge us for stains on the carpet that were already there. £240 Good thing I took pictures from the beginning and also emailed them as well but, as any other agency, they are trying to charge you as much as possible for any little thing. My advise, if you’re renting, take pictures of any defects and email them to the agency.
On top of it, after check out, I received an Amazon package at the old address. I contacted Northwood Crawley and spoke with an agent at the office. They treated me with absolute disregard speaking with me but without looking at me. I went outside the office and told my wife to forget about the package. Northwood never contacted me even though the package was visible for weeks inside the house.

Don't touch em with a barge-pole !!! Absolute joke. Was great Tennant's for 4yrs @ Property in Crawley - as soon as we refused new tenancy agreement due to Huge price increase to rent (2nd year on the trot) - all contact and replies ceased from themselves. They have not done what they need to do to release our deposit with DPS causing huge implications to us supporting and feeding our family.
THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUR THEIR TENANTS - UNLESS THEY KNOW THEY ARE MAKING MONEY OUT OF YOU.
WOULD NEVER EVER USE THEM AGAIN..... CAN NOT EXPRESS ENOUGH - DO NOT USE THEM !!!!!

I've been a long term tenant for 10 years. After repeatedly asking Northwood to do essential repairs to the property, I had no other option then to get my local health & Safety involved. Once I did they kindly served me a Section 21 thirteen days before Christmas, clearly a (retaliatory eviction).
Northwood also failed or couldn't be bothered to let the Landlords know about the bad state of disrepair of their home. Hence now they have been served with serious Improvement notices from my Local council. Leaving them with an unrentable property!!.
Northwood have also hit Crawley news earlier this week regarding serving a section 21 on an elderly Gentlemen! ( very decent of them!).
Tenants and Landlords be very careful of this unscrupulous company.

BE VERY AWARE!! I've been a long-term tenant of TEN YEARS. Couldn't get Northwood to do quite serious repairs. Was kindly given a Section 21 to leave 13 day's before Christmas. Once health and safety involvement. Even the Landords where unaware of bad disrepair leaving their property with a CAT A Health hazard as Northwood couldn't be bothered to inform the owners. As it was the Christmas and New Year festive break many of the organisations they needed to deal with were closed, but they worked around that well, and eased my stresses regarding whether the move would happen on time. We met with a few estate agents to ask for advice on selling our property. We went with Northwood because we felt they had better knowledge of the market and we are so glad we did. The process was seamless and quick. We had several offers the first day the property was on the market and they managed to achieve a whopping £40,000 over what another well known local estate agent valued the property at. This company has poor communication and will disrespect you as a landlord. I tried to get the company to fix the fencing in between tenants and they did not do this. The tenants wanted things to be repaired and they did not relay the tenants concerns to myself as the landlord. They let my house get ‘run down’ and then tried to give me a ‘maintenance’ contract via their contractors to get it back into a good rental state. According to the manager -Amy Godden ( manager) - the tenants were allowed access to my house before the tenancy commenced. She informed me that industrial cleaning machines were those of the tenants. My view - don’t go here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been renting my house for the past 3 years with Northwood. Being a first time landlord I required the assistance of an experienced estate agent to manage the property on my behalf. After speaking to many other agents in Crawley, Northwood is by far the best estate agent.
Ben the manager came to our house, explained the entire process from start to finish and we knew straight away that it was Northwood we would be trusting with our home.
Fast forward 3 years, I have never encountered a problem with Northwood. Every member of staff that I have spoken to (over the years that's probably everyone) is a credit to Northwood, Ben leads a team of caring, compassionate and professional individuals who provide excellent customer service.
I recommend Northwood Crawley wholeheartedly, if your a novice landlord like me and you need professional guidance then Ben and his team will take care of you.
Finally a big thank you to Sue who takes care of maintenance issues at Northwood Crawley, she is the backbone of the entire team and a lovely lady. Always a pleasure to talk to even though she only rings me when there's an issue lol.

Do NOT lease a property from Northwood! They were incredibly rude on the phone when I called up to complain that they hadn't cleaned the property prior to my moving in. As it was written in to the contract that they would do a professional clean it means that they had cut corners when preparing the property. This is at the expense of the tenant and probably also the landlord. I have never been spoken to so rudely by someone who is supposed to be providing a services. Stay well clear of them!!

One year after having left the property we rented, I am still in shock at how Northwood made our time in Crawley miserable. Here are some events that we experienced throughout our 4.5 years renting in Crawley:
- Spent an ENTIRE winter with a newborn without heat. Northwood took every attempt to avoid replacing the boiler until it was obvious it required replacement.
- We suffered from huge mold issues on the upper floor. Northwood’s kept blaming us and telling us that we were not opening the windows despite the landlord’s acknowledgement of the issue. This caused allergies on most of the family which are gone now that we moved property.
- Northwood increased Rent on a yearly basis using their “experts” to assess the value of the house. Well their expert used the neighbor’s house as a benchmark who had indeed the same house size but omitted that:
o He had negotiated the price down
o His house had a fully equipped kitchen
o His house had a garage
Now, the worrying part is that one year after leaving the property, we were sent the cancellation documents of the next renters, including personal info’s. I had then a look at Northwood’s website to see our previous property. The pictures shown were those used to present our property when we moved in 6 years ago…
That being said and on a positive note, Northwood had been very helpful when it was time for us to move out. Taking this into account, I wish I had taken the decision much earlier. Indeed, having left Northwood has proven to be such a relief on all the family. Our new agency has the decency to rent good property and provide an excellent service when needed.

Probably one of the worst experiences I've had with a tenancy. As a head role in property I have vast experience both with property sales/lease and customer service. Something this company does not understand. First example is witnessing the sheer poor lack of service recovery herein the Google reviews - scanning quickly through the responses from the owner/manager shows the constant lack of experience, respect and understanding of operating a agency.
As a tenant I experienced a poor service from the outset, the office manager on viewing informed me I could redecorate the property, having had confirmation on email by the manager - I redecorated the top floor. Leaving the property in a far superior finish to what i leased it for. I was required to go through a property inspection by the office junior who displayed little or no experience, claiming I had broke the tenancy! The landlord confirmed in writing how I improved the property.
On vacating the property, I had agents letting themselves in to show new tenants without notice, moving items and offering my own furniture to potential future tenants!
After cleaning the property professionally providing an invoice - I was charged excessively for a mark on the oven which hadn't been picked up by the cleaners. Given how I left the property, improving the presentation, allowing new photos of how it was dressed, together with showing how it was left cleaned. It's sole destroying to learn you penalise tenants for a stain which was missed unintentionally by a cleaner which could have been wiped easily at check out! This agency just demonstrates how little they think of tenants. Avoid.

Ben in particular took control of our property and sold it, it was a long process with the other side solicitors taking a long time, so he went above and beyond his job detail to make extra phone calls and reassure us, right up to completion.

I would like to give 0 stars but unfortunately this is not possible!
On the day we signed the contract the branch manager was yelling at us as we were not fast enough with signing and said, that if we won't hurry up we won't get the keys! But this is not everything...at this time my wife was highly pregnant! But the branch manager didn't care even on my request to calm down! This is simply disrespectful!
I would recommend a seminar for proper behavior!
During our tenancy:
For fixing the roof (after a heavy rain it was dropping inside the apartment) it took ages till something happened!
Check out day:
I got a mail and was asked if I will attend to the check-out appointment. I agreed and went there - one of the agents then told me they can't go on with the check-out as long as I am present. Why you are asking then if I will attend to this appointment?
Nearly at the end of our tenancy:
Viewings were agreed and I went to this appointments. I don't remember exactly but it was 2 or 3 times that I went there and nobody came. I didn't get a call or a message that this viewing won't happen! And the "funny" answer I got is that my telephone has some problems - what?? On my answer that my telephone is working without problems I got the answer that the agents telephone has a problem or it was a misunderstanding - ridiculous!
Strange that this was just a problem with my number!
Before you will answer that I don't need to attend to this viewings: I know but it was my wish to be present. And a call or a text message is the minimum what you can do - at least in my opinion. And don't say that my telephone has a problem.

I recently found a flat through Northwood and I wanted to mention how much I enjoyed the help I received from Katelyn Byrne. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. I had previously seen a couple of other properties with other estate agents, and it was shocking how little they knew about the properties. Katelyn was able to answer all my questions, and she made the viewing and application process very easy. She was also very speedy in getting back to all my phone calls. It was a pleasure to work with her!

The only reason there is one star here is simply because you are unable to choose zero stars...
Northwood crawley are rude unhelpful and will fleece you at any oppertunity, if they could put a cost on you walking through their door im sure they would since having dealings with other letting agencies I have come to realise just how terrible Northwood are along with much higher charges than others that offer far superior customer service.
My opinion avoid if you can or face the consequences.

these guys a thieves, been with a different letting agent for two years now, no pointless yearly fees like these guys do, my rent hasn't increase once, Northwood increased my rent yearly, when I moved out I left the house spotless probably just as good or better than any cleaning company would have left yet they charge you if you don't use one, AVOID!!!!

Worst renting experiance ever avoid!! Worst customer service, added fees that wasnt informed of throughout letting and when we moved out, damaged roof wasnt fixed mould in celings caused by damp in attic. Garden left in a dangerous condition after daughter fell through decking which was removed by northwood leaving mess, glass, wires, sharp metal and a unusable garden for my dog or children to go in. Water from out pipe going into electric boiler told was safe so called out a electrician for a inpection, was told needed emergancy work, spoke to northwood and told that it will be fine. Plus alot more that i could list. Please avoid!!!

Rogue Letting Agent - Northwood Crawley
Crawley, Northwood purport to be a first rate letting agent, but they are no more than a pseudo non-professional outfit, with little genuine experience of managing property, customer services, or the ability to comprehend their own written polices, and they are entirely focused on making as much money as they can from the vulnerable tenant and landlord. The best part of being locked into a contract that allowed them to take in excess of 29% of the rent each month for more than 18 moths of a 3 year contract, was to terminate it.
Avoid their guaranteed rent scheme as its an utter rip off, the office staff are rude, unqualified and frequently incompetent. The franchise director, Peter Green is obsessed with money and will frequently dispute the smallest amount that is owed to a landlord. When I complained about the intolerable rudeness of his office manager, he chose to do nothing about it and there are plenty of other reviews on the WWW documenting the obtuse rudeness of Gemma Armstrong, who subsequently was promoted to Director - how inappropriate, disgraceful and shocking, and what a clever executive decision, Peter Green ? These individuals know so little about letting property, maintenance and it beggars belief that they are still in business.
The handover of my property was mismanaged, unprofessional, and even though the damaged caused by the outgoing tenant, who damaged 50% of window blinds, cracked a bath panel, left two lights hanging from the ceiling, damaged a garden ornament, scratched a kitchen worktop, damaged kitchen plinths, scratched the window in a door, cracked a garden storage box, and left the garden in an awful state, and removed items from the property, and caused damaged to rendered walls having installed equipment without permission, Northwood Crawley condoned all of this, as, unequivocally this is damage, and yet Megan Scannell had the audacity to call it all wear and tear - she clearly needs help to understand Northwood’s own printed policy.
The email I received following the hand-back, some 8 days after their tenant moved out, having assured me that my property would be handed back within three days, took them eight days. Some 48 hours later, following their bogus investigation into the items of damage listed, I was sent an email containing a badly written list of cut and pasted paragraphs that made no logical sense, and I chose not to reply, and if I understood the drawl, £10.20 was offered as a settlement. I suggest they keep it and use it for staff training, as Peter Green clearly spends little on this, as demonstrated by the poorly informed staff he employs. So desperate are they for 5 star reviews, they will pay £10 for every 5 star review submitted, so maybe the £10 I have allowed them to keep, as its worth far more than £10 not to have no further communication with them. They could use it either for purchasing another review, or use it for the desperate staff training they all so urgently require. Northwood, Crawley have to be the most spurious and worst letting agent for miles, so don’t be taken in by the false impression they give. Do the right thing and do not be lured by their unprofessional and dubious dealings.

As a Landlord of Northwood, I am continually disappointed with the poor level of customer service and the lack of continuity afforded by the fully managed scheme, for which I pay a very high price for - approximately 26% of the rent. The scheme is very poor value for money. For example, during the previous check-out of my property, the only qualified employee capable of carrying out the task, only listed two issues, when there were eleven. While I was promised these issues would be resolved, following much debate and uncertainty, I had to push and complain in order for these issues to be eventually resolved, which took months.
These issues should have been resolved automatically and routinely, without the consternation that ensued. I was informed somewhat abruptly that works would be carried out only as a goodwill gesture, and yet on reading the company’s own guidelines concerning "wear and tear”, the rules were contradicted, as the state of the painted walls and surfaces were clearly not the result of wear and tear after only 10 months of occupancy, especially when the Northwoods document detail periods of two to three years.
Furthermore, when I complained to the franchise director for the rudeness of the office manager, nothing was done, as he chose to uphold the comments and rudeness of the office manager. In closing, so often one member of the Northwood team will declare one point of view, which is then contradicted by another, and thus there seems to be no sense of continuity, as this is clearly a lack of communication between the team. The franchise director unequivocally doesn't like to deal with his clients, and clearly places profits over client / customer satisfaction.
Sadly the only one professional manger I initially had dealings with, who was always so helpful and understanding, has since been told that she can no longer communicate with me - what an utter shambles, when this particular property company purport to be the best there is. If you have a property to rent, I certainly would not recommend this property agent.

Used to be good customer service when terry worked there , he has now left & since then the place is a disaster, the way they treat there customers is appaling and they are extreme money grabbers when u rent of them they will claw at you whenever they get a chance .... i do not reccomend !!!

Northwood Crawley manage two properties for us. We have been found quality longterm tenants. I can rely on them to deal with our enquiries and management of any issues arising from the day to day running of the properties promptly and efficiently. However they go beyond this (particularly Sue & Megan) and have recently instigated the resolution of a long-term maintenance problem via the management company of our flat. Fantastic!

Saying that Northwood are the worst letting agent would be kind. All we have had from their office in Crawley for the last six months is nothing but problems! Gemma Armstrong (supposed Crawley Office Manager) has not been helpful in the slightest. Various formal complaints have been made and even other staff members have commented to us on the poor service that Miss Armstrong and Northwood are portraying. Be very wary, The viewing and contents of the property viewed are not the same as what you get when you move in (even after 2 staff members say they are) as we found out. Extra bills are expected to be paid for that aren't in the contract. Peter Green - Company Director, doesn't respond to any correspondence from tenants. We were advised we aren't able to deal with him at all with any complaints even after following their Complaints Process to the letter, and we were advised by Miss Armstrong that whatever she advises, he will back her up all the way. Friends/Colleagues of ours have also had so many problems with Northwood or have heard bad things through their relations, but were unfortunately too late in advising us. Trading Standards should be made aware of this Crawley Office working ethos!

Customer Service by the Office Manager, Emma Armstrong was the worst I have seen in all of time.
I was looking to buy a house in Crawley. During the viewing she barely said a word and during offer and negotiation acted as more of a hindrance to the process rather than an aid. Very rude and unprofessional. Lacked tact or ability to empathise with her customer.I am actually shocked she is Office manager. I wonder what she teaches and trains her subordinates to be like. Definitely the worst agency I have come across thus far. Past reviews tell me I should not be surprised. Stay well clear guys!

I use this agency to rent out multiple sites and the service has been fantastic.
They offer something unique and it really does set them apart from other rental agencies in the area.
The staff are professional, informative and I feel we're working towards building a partnership. There is a real sense of team spirit within the office and I can go to any member of staff and trust them with any questions.
