I bought and sold through Parkers, and was particularly impressed by the market knowledge and support provided by Alex Pearce (and the whole team) throughout the transaction.
From start to finish was a little over 4 months. Alex arranged a viewing day for our property, and a couple of one-off viewings, and we had interest from day one, which led to a couple of offers, which were communicated and validated to us, and once our eventual buyer was identified, Alex took all of us through the process seamlessly, keeping everyone informed.
I couldn't have been happier with the service from the whole team, and Alex has also been very helpful post-move with queries regarding the market in general

We recently sold our Grade II listed home through Parkers Caversham. The service that Alex and Fiona provided was outstanding. The professional, targeted approach towards marketing meant that the house went under offer in just a few weeks. We were really well-supported through the sale process. I found it especially helpful to be able to communicate quickly and easily using WhatsApp, and response times were always incredibly fast. We have moved house a number of times before, but this was the least stressful experience that we've had by a long way, largely because of Alex and Fiona's care and expertise.

Very good... at empty promises. First of all Parkers overestimated the value of my property to convince me to sign contract with them. Initial price didn't bring any viewers and Parkers suggested lowering price twice within first couple of weeks from signing contract / starting to advertise. Default contract length is way longer than other local agencies, which indicates low confidence in selling property. Their charge is one of the highest on the market, but that does not reflect quality of service received. Staff did not give us any tips of what we could improve with the house to make the sale quicker. Parker's employees conducting viewings were unable to answer basic questions about property from potential buyers and very often couldn't provide feedback from the viewings.
To sum up I lost half year of time and 3 properties I wanted to buy myself from lack of proffesionalism from Parker's side.

Alex is absolute god send. Having bought, sold and rented on 9 occasions in Reading with many estate agents I have to say Alex at Parkers is the best. From the moment Alex took on our property we felt assured he had everything in hand every step of the way. From creating a fantastic promotional video, social media marketing, excellent and accurate property descriptions to personally overseeing most of the viewings and of course updating with feedback without us having to chase, as well as overseeing the photography.
After a year of being on the market with another agent in Reading, Alex managed to get us two offers close to asking price. Once the offer was accepted Alex was still very much involved with overseeing the process through to the end. Nothing is ever too much for Alex. Thank you, you’re an absolute star.

If I could give zero stars I would, Parkers took advantage of my elderly mother (late 80s) with a 2.5% fee (plus VAT) on a two bedroom terraced property. Upon the family expressing concern over the fee, we were advised that is "in line" with other agents - despite several agents advising their fees which ranged from (on average) 1% to 1.5% depending on the property.
Perhaps if Parkers were half decent at progressing the sale and actually truly earning their extortionate commission we would be more inclined to pay for a premium service. Instead my mother was recommended rubbish solicitors too as an added bonus.
Very disappointed. Clearly took advantage of the situation and a vulnerable elderly woman. If your loved ones are looking at selling a property, read the contract on their behalf before you are in too deep! Due to my mother's declining health, we proceeded with the sale of the property to pay for care home costs. If it was a different situation - we would have pulled out and found a decent Estate Agent who would truly earn their commission.
We trust Parkers enjoy the commission from the house sale. If you are charging premium prices - perhaps offer a premium service too.

Rob Penford sold our house in Sonning Common in April this year. Being an unusual property, this was no mean feat!
We had valuations from other agents, but with Robs experience and enthusiasm, he saw though our properties negative points and turned them to our advantage. He came up with a marketing ploy and Parker’s Estate agents had potential buyers viewing the property very quickly. Rob would report back to us following each viewing with a comprehensive review and was always available to speak to.
We ended up with a couple of offers, and obviously went with the highest bid. When they withdrew that offer shortly after, he had handled the failed bidder so diplomatically, he was able to bring that offer back to the table.
He dealt with the rest of the process with the same professional approach. Never a straightforward sale, we knew we were in safe hands. Above and beyond his remit, Rob even sent over potential properties for us to buy from other agents!
We cannot recommend Rob highly enough as a hugely professional and accomplished estate agent. Without hesitation, we are giving Rob Penford ?????5 Stars.

Having set Caversham as the location we want to live in, we spent the weekend going to speak to the estate agents in the area. I have to say that the most helpful by far was Rob at Parkers. In many of the other agents, they didn’t even want to take our details! What a difference!
