Pestell & Company, established in 1991, have been supplying a high level service for 25 years. From centrally located offices in both Great Dunmow and Bishop’s Stortford the teams market properties across central and west Essex as well as East Herts. The experienced teams offer a professional and personable service, working closely with solicitors and all parties involved to maintain a smooth and prompt progression of sale. Being independently owned allows a freedom and flexibility to work to customer requirements allowing us to provide you with a bespoke service, the experience and expertise required within a modern Estate Agents.

We were the purchasers in our involvement with Pestells. Ray was our agent. We had quite a lot of issues with land borders with separate titles, which was not made clear on the particulars of sale. Rather the land was shown as one piece on the particulars. There were also other issues, the mention of a secondary electric gate to the property however the ‘gate’ has not got planning. Nor was any mention made of the neighbours right of way to have their oil tank filled. I felt like we were not being given full and frank disclosure about these and other issues that occurred. House buying is a complicated and expensive process, so clarity is paramount at the start of the process to ensure you enter into it fully informed. Ray is not contactable by mobile. You have to contact the office by landline or email. I don't know any business like this now that does not have their staff contactable by mobile phone.... Read more

Avoid! Constant issues with the properly and the landlord never wanted to pay for any repairs. Damp, leaks and contact mold all year round with the advice to ‘open windows’. Since moving out, I am getting ignored with no one willing to help. Very unprofessional and says a lot about a company.... Read more
