I bought my run down terraced property at Auction in Pelton County Durham Nov 2022. Big mistake . The world was in a bad state such as everything going up. It took us v long to refurbish cost a lot and poor workmanship let us down. We did quite lot of the work ourselves too. On top we were v far and took the gamble and didn’t see it. Also overpaid. Oh my god the problems didn’t finish even until the sale, when the sale happened through the modern auction method got a call from Robinsons saying there’s hole in the flat roof . Not my problem no more ! The person before us fixed ones before they died , we fixed it from top to bottom the man that gave the written guarantee called Philip Thompson with the company called “The roofer” and charge about 2 grand didn’t come to fix it after lying many times. And then the 3rd time Robinsons recommended builder called Joe Morrows with no company name which I found a little dodgy I went with them as Robinsons recommended them and previous parties let me down. He charge £2300 roughly fixed it with “rubber roof” that he said never went wrong with him and was v confident with it, he gave us a guarantee which was passed to the buyer. Not sure if they knew what they doing or it was some sort of a dark magic . Would I ever buy up north again NO . Poor returns generally . As well as many problems especially mining . Most people at Robinsons were ok. However when we eventually had a buyer (still to our loss) they wasted 3 months of our time and said the survey wasn’t favourable and ducked out honestly stupid rule that needs to change. We didn’t want to waste more time and money with a survey ourselves or rent it out as returns aren’t great, so we took it to the modern method auction. Their partner company “iamsold”.
The guy I had called Jack was a nightmare always had to chase him and I think he purposely was waiting for us to reduce the price so he had an investor lined up for the sale, this process took v long too. Absolutely avoid I’m sold as their fees are extremely ridiculous. Our buyer ended up paying around £8000 which was shared with Robinsons. Do i recommend Robinsons, I give them the benefit of doubt hence 3 stars do I recommend Iam sold no way . They also delayed the sale. With all the utility bills running .The whole thing from buying to selling took almost 3 years !!! Losing a lot on it too.

They are the worst agency in the world. Very racist. I have been in uk for 5 years and had loads of property on rent but never had any issue. This is the agency that have eaten up my deposit for no reason at all.

I sold my home through Robinsons a couple of months ago and the whole team couldn’t have been more helpful. I was really happy with the photos Michael had taken, they were brilliant.
I was updated at every step of the process and viewings were made simple as the team communicated clearly with my availability. I had several offers made on my home from the very beginning and I think this highlights good estate agency as the listing was clear and informative.
I had a couple of issues with needing the sale to go through quickly to avoid additional stamp duty abs Robinsons were extremely helpful in contacting the buyer to update them when I felt like the solicitors were not doing enough.

Would not recommend this estate agents, they have no manners and lack of communication skills. I have never dealt with an estate agents who are so uninterested in their customers! I would be ashamed having people work for my company who struggle saying hello, goodbye or thank you. Seen other reviews saying the same at their lack of interest in people. Avoid at all costs - i would never buy or sell a property with them ever again!!!!!!!!!!!

Coffee / drink stop
Stopped on way to and from Edinburgh on National Holiday trip. Lots of potholes in car park need mending and position of cafe coffee counter near outside door meant people were waiting outside to get in. Seems strange. However , we bypassed them and went in very pleasant bar area for a pint. Felt sorry for barman as he could not pull lager as it was so frothy, same problem on both visits so probably manager should sort that out. Otherwise pleasant enough and bar meals they were serving looked good.

I would not recommend Robinsons, Chester-le-Street branch to sell a tent, let alone a house! 2 weeks after completion and im yet to get a call from them advising me of this. If I didnt have a great solicitor i wouldnt have been informed of anything.
I always thought the estate agents role was to negotiate the sale of a property!!! I had to ring or call into their office for any updates. At one point the manager /valuer asked me if i was not in contact with my solicitor? Not meaning to be rude but exactly what was their role in the selling of my property?

Initially making contact via online enquiry i did not receive any follow up call or email.
I visited the branch and a viewing appointment was made. immediately the attitude of the staff member made me feel i didn't want to deal with Robinson from the offset but i went ahead and viewed the property.
Having viewed the property i submitted my feelings and an offer online and didn't receive a reply.
I then called to discuss the offer and they didn't seem interested at all. again the attitude was awful.
three telephone calls later i managed to get some sense and they advised my offer had not been accepted. they showed no interest at all in asking for increased offers etc and could wait to get off the phone.
I prompted them to increase the offer and they said they would call the vendor and notify me if it was accepted but if i didn't hear from them to consider it had not been accepted, so not to waste each others time.
absolutely unbelievable, these people couldn't sell a biscuit to a starving man!!
