In a world where great customer service is a rarity, I can't speak highly enough of Kirsty and how she helped secure my property in record time. I'm not the easiest person to deal with and my application was complex due to moving from another country, having a large dog and quite specific requirements.

They have an absoloutely incredible service. I have been looking for a house since an eternity and I came across them. Living in Hamilton, I visited their office and from the start, Natalia and Kirstie, both of them were extremely friendly and welcoming. I was updated, informed about everything. Starting with the viewing, where all the answers that I had were answered by Natalia who was great and warm with all her interactions that I had. Kirstie took care of all the paperwork for me and made things extremely smooth sailing and easy. Absolutely incredible service!! Finding a house is such a stressful time and both Kirstie and Natalia went out their way to make the process as easy and quick as possible. Couldn't ask for nicer staff and never imagined I'd find a property and get moved in so quickly. From the minute I phoned, Kirstie was so friendly, polite and keen to help me find a property - nothing was too much trouble! I was then introduced to Natalia for viewings and she also could not have been nicer and more helpful. Had a recent valuation done by this company on our present home after spending serious amount of money on the property, all. We got is statts , from the guy who came out to value it , hell I knew them before hand absolutely no price increase for giving the home a complete transformation and a low ball estimate, plus had the cheek to ask for 1 percentage of the house sale way over the top , a local agent valued our house at least £20k over there price , avoid

I tried to sell my house through Slater Hogg of Hamilton, Scotland. The experience was terrible with the result that I had to kick them off as a letting agent. A good decision as the new agents managed to secure me 20% better property price than what was offered by Slater Hoggs.
I found them to lack in integrity a d professionalism. A couple of buyers (who pretended to be) seemed not even have the affordability to purchase the property. Everything appeared to be an act to show that they had clients with them for viewing.
Our property is in an estate where houses gets bid and sold within two weeks. And Slater Hogg could not get a meaningful offer in 12 weeks! Once I showed the door, Slater Hogg and their principals, Countrywide started sending annoying emails and threatening letters. It was an absolute nuisance!
Within 1 week of reassigning the engagement to another company (and removing Slater Hogg), our house was sold at a price 20% higher. That was the clear proof for us about the poor skills and integrity of Slater Hogg!

I let my property out with SH for about one year. The initial process as a first time landlord was good, and SH were supportive throughout.
However, when I regained access to the property one year later, the tenants had left piles of stinking rubbish in the living room, which included soiled clothes, and rotten food. The back garden was left in a mess, and beds still had smelly bed clothes on them. There were also numerous missing and broken items, and damage to fixtures and walls.
SH were absolutely no help at all in bringing the property back to a reasonable condition, they were perfectly happy for me to move back into the house in a unsanitary condition - shame on SH.
In the end I had to clean up the house and garden myself - 23 bin bags full of rubbish, not including the refuse bins which were all filled with miscellaneous rubbish, that also needed to be emptied. I also made all the arrangements for items to replaced and/or fixed.
I would urge you not to use SH to manage your property.

Awful awful company. Worst decision I ever made was to use Slater Hogg & Howison Hamilton to sell our first home. They do not promote your home to give you the best chance of a sale, nothing on social media etc and do not market it well at all - I had to do this all myself. The staff were extremely rude and unprofessional throughout the whole process, taking no accountability for anything. The ladies were so rude and had a very bad attitude. They also agreed to do ALL viewings then did not turn up and left viewer's outside our property, mortifying! The even gave the purchaser the keys to our home without carrying out necessary anti-money laundering checks and a member of staff stole my key ring from my keys and laughed in my face about it! Disgraceful company avoid like the plague!! Would advise anyone to find another company if they are looking to sell their home whilst receiving a good service.

I rented my property in Hamilton through Slater Hogg and Howison Hamilton and my contact throughout was Kirsty and I could not have asked for a better contact. I have used Slater Hogg & Howison in Hamilton for a number of years. I must say that the letting side has always been helpful and my first shout would go to Kirstie who has always been supportive regarding any issues that I have had over the years regardless if it was her job to resolve or not, likewise all the other letting staff. Over the years I have found the repair side a bit lacking at times which is carried out from Countrywide in Glasgow. However, last year they brought in Darren McAra and there has been vast improvements which I am happy about.

I used Slater Hogg Hamilton to sell my property and my experience from start to finish was first class. The valuer David was very professional and efficient and explained the process to me and outlined the fees and charges so I understood what would be involved. He was on time for the appointment and also offered that Slater Hogg could do any buyer viewings which was extremely helpful to me on this occasion. David organised that on the visit.
Marianne from the Slater Hogg office in Hamilton was excellent and the service provided was very professional and very helpful. She answered all my question with ease and managed to negotiate on my behalf the offer price to guarantee me a sale price I was extremely happy with. The sale was concluded one day following the viewing and one week from going on the market. I couldn't have asked for more!! She helped out with correspondence between the buyer and myself during the difficulties of the pandemic and simplified the process that would have taken days via the legal process.
I wouldn't hesitate to use them again and would recommend to anyone looking to sell their property. In terms of value for money and service it proved to be very worthwhile and hassle free.

Feel sorry for person selling. There was about five people sitting about not doing much and they couldn't arrange a viewing 100 meters up the hill from there office.

Poor customer service trying to arrange a viewing for a property with promises of callbacks to arrange dates and times, called 3 times regarding arranging a viewing for the same property and never got anywhere. Everytime I called to arrange a date,I was told they would arrange a callback for me to schedule a day for me to come and view the property, no callbacks ever happened

Unresponsive and dismissive in my attempts to view a property. Did not return my calls about said property. Took multiple attempts to arrange a time that suited them even although the house was unoccupied. When we eventually succeeded in obtaining a viewing. The agent carrying out the viewing was uninterested and unable to tell us anything about the property. This continued even on the second viewing that we had.
Have also had experience with Slater Hogg as a tenant. Although they eventually responded to any issues reported - only the bare minimum was ever fixed. The landlord never being held accountable.

I put my property up for let through Slater Hogg & Howieson, Hamilton branch and within roughly 48 hours I had a viewer who progressed with the tenancy without delay. We weren't treated very well as rental tenants. To the extent where I tried to avoid looking at potential houses to buy that were marketed by slater hogg. Unfortunately we did buy through slater hogg, but they didn't do anything for their commission. It took numerous calls to even get our first viewing of the house, a house that was not lived in.

Awful service from this estate agency if you are a potential tenant. After leaving my details to book a viewing for a property listed as available immediately, I was told someone would get back to me as soon as possible as they surprisingly did not have the keys yet. Twice they provide me with no professional service at all. The first time I naively thought that maybe there were too many demands for the same flat so I just moved on even if I was asked silly details and questions that have nothing to do with rental conditions like "how long have you been living in the country for" even if I previously mentioned CLEARLY that my husband is Scottish, he's working full time, also we're not housing benefits reliant and so on. The second time, my husband called to book a viewing but for some reasons they phoned him back as they couldn't remember which property he was interested in so as he couldn't answer the phone at work, I phoned them back to give the right informations. The person on the phone recognized my strong French accent and told me that they already have my details and they would get back to us as soon as possible.. With no surprise, they did not.
Never again. I don't want to play the victim card, discriminated and everything but I am really disappointed because of the lack of professionalism..

Pity noone can answer a phone. Between a Saturday Morning 9am - 11am and Monday Morning 9am - 10am I tried 6 times to call. It's a new experience to have an agency who is not available to answer a phone. Would put me off selling through them too.
