We couldn't have asked for a better experience working with the team at Slater Hogg in Kilmarnock.<br>From our very first meeting, they demonstrated an impressive knowledge of our area and current market conditions and took the time to genuinely understand our requirements.<br>Throughout the entire process, communication was excellent —they answered every phone call and email promptly and kept us updated on every single development.<br>Selling a home can be stressful, but Amanda, Mairi, Steve and Lewis made everything feel smooth and straightforward (even when it wasn't!!). We felt completely supported from day one right through to completion.<br>We would wholeheartedly recommend the team at Slater Hogg Kilmarnock to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.

I rented through this branch (Slater Hogg & Howison, West End). The landlord served a Notice to Leave and I ended the tenancy early. Since checking out in August, getting my unused rent refunded has been slow and frustrating.<br><br>The refund took many weeks and repeated chasing.<br>The branch confirmed a refund amount in writing, but a later head-office complaint response offered a lower amount without a clear explanation of the difference.<br>I received conflicting answers from different people and was passed between the branch and head office.<br>As of 20 October 2026, I have not received the rent refund.<br><br>I have a formal complaint open and will update this review once it is resolved. Clearer communication and prompt handling of client money would have made a big difference.<br><br>Update: the rent refund was eventually paid on 22 October, after several weeks of chasing and a formal complaint.

Couldn’t be happier with the service I received from Slater Hogg, and especially Ross! He was very informative and patient whilst guiding me through the process of purchasing a property, working around my awkward schedule and getting me get a last minute viewing for the property I loved, and with his stellar advice I was able to secure it! Can’t recommend them enough, they really put my mind at ease and would absolutely look to use them again.

We had a very easy experience selling our home with Slater, Hogg and Howison.<br>Steve and Amanda from the Kilmarnock branch were very pleasant but also very professional, making the whole experience much less stressful.

Extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience.<br><br>I had a viewing booked for today at 4:40 PM. I arrived around 4:30 PM and waited outside for approximately 30 minutes, but nobody showed up.<br><br>I then went to the office to find out what was going on. The staff there called the person who was apparently supposed to be handling the viewing, only to be told that there was no viewing booked for me today.<br><br>What makes this even more frustrating is that I had already spoken to them about this viewing beforehand, and I also received a call from them this morning confirming that my viewing was at 4:40 PM today.<br><br>So I travelled there, waited outside for half an hour, and then had to go to their office myself just to be told that apparently there was no appointment. This was a complete waste of my time and extremely frustrating.<br><br>If you can’t manage your own viewing appointments or communicate properly with customers, at least have the professionalism to let people know rather than making them travel and stand outside waiting for someone who isn’t coming.<br><br>Very poor communication, organisation and customer service. I would seriously think twice before dealing with this company.

Having been bequeathed a property in Scotland, when I no longer live there, could have been extremely problematic. However from the first contact with Claire and then Gareth, who assisted throughout the whole process, I could not have wished for a better outcome. The house survey report, the EPC, marketing, pictures and drone pictures were all organised by Gareth - this was all undertaken via telephone discussions with Slater Hogg. Continual contact was maintained throughout the process. I always felt that Slater Hogg valued my business and due to the circumstances (me not living in Scotland) I believe that Claire and Gareth went beyond normal expectations to overcome difficulties that may have arisen due to the distance between me and the property.<br>Slater Hogg and Howison have been exceptional and I would not hesitate in recommending them to others and to Gareth I would say thank you - I truly appreciate your efforts on my behalf.

I am leaving a 5 star review however this is simply for Chloe McPhee in the Hamilton office of Countrywide (sadly now moved to another office). We vetted several letting agents and chose Countrywide due to how personal Chloe made the process and how much she kept us in touch with what was going on. Becoming a landlord was a new venture and she made it all very easy.<br>Since she has moved I have had zero correspondence from the office (Chloe has kept in touch despite not being her role anymore...thank you Chloe), and I was only aware the tenants had even moved in after emailing Chloe to find out.<br><br>Thankfully the tenants move in was smooth and I have visited them to iron out a couple of mainetance issues I wanted to get done.<br>5 Stars for Chloe.

I had an excellent experience with Slater Hogg Bishopbriggs. From start to finish, the service and communication were outstanding. A special mention has to go to Kim, who was absolutely fantastic throughout the entire process. She kept me informed every step of the way, was always quick to respond, had a clear strategy and made everything feel smooth and stress-free.
Overall, a brilliant service and a genuinely positive experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a professional, reliable, and effective estate agent.

Estate agents generally get bad press; my experience of Slater, hogg & howison is VERY different. My dealings have been with the Shawlands branch, through whom I recently purchased my flat. They have been: unfailingly helpful; conducted the viewing in a friendly and knowledgeable way ( not my universal experience with other estate agents covering this part of Glasgow); highly responsive in getting answers to all my questions; and efficient in handling all aspects of the buying process.<br>I would unhesitatingly recommend them. My sincere thanks to Ellenor and her team.<br>PS Just in case you’re wondering, they did not invite me to make this review, I offered to write one because they deserve praise for the way they conducted business with me.
