I was a property store tenant who they have merged with, please stay away if you are considering letting a property from them. SHH doesn't want to know the issues I had with the property store, property store once again don't reply to emails to get important information they have from my tenancy.
Their complaints procedure is awful, and the follow the landlords requests while knowing that the landlord is lying. Too many people dealing with one property so you don't know who to contact, if I could give them a zero I would. I would have expected more from SHH now they have merged with the property store. Landlords claiming for damages they repaired when they haven't, claiming they didn't give permission for things, when they did. Advice if you are already letting from them, keep everything! Follow up phone calls with emails, follow up visits with emails so that when your tenancy ends you have everything!

Put an offer in on a property that’s currently listed in Lothian Way in East Kilbride over a week and a half ago and chased Slater Hogg no less than three times for an answer. Still received no call-back despite all my follow ups, including a final email to the branch manager to express my disappointment at the lack of professionalism. I’ve experienced plenty of unprofessional sales people in the industry but this operation is on another level altogether! Bargain basement stuff!

Purchased a house in EK via them back in June of this year and no sooner did I put my offer in, I was bombarded with calls every week asking what my situation was when I explained to them on multiple occasions as I was in the midst of selling my own home, it was out my control. They knew the situation beforehand as I was very honest about my situation when I put my offer in. To add salt to the wound, on the date of entry, it was a very hot day and I was waiting all day for the key. Because of this, the removal vans were waiting outside the house and my parents (who are pensioners and also have a disability). The woman KAREN that went to the house on that day told my parents to get away from the garden. With my mums disability and with the heat, she only wanted to sit on the bench that was in the garden. I feel this is something that could have been overlooked by KAREN as I was only minutes away from picking up the key. Not very nice.

Heather our Mortgage Advisor was exceptional throughout the process. Heather was very professional in her approach and was very clear in understanding our needs and worked toward those needs consistently. Heather was very Proactive which helped us to get our mortgage offer in time. Heather knows her responsibilities and her knowledge is worth mentioning in this area. The proactiveness was also evident in getting us very good deal in insurance related issues. I recommend Heather to anyone who wants assistance in this process. Heather showed a very polite manner and showed her care in all our conversations. Heather also communicated regularly and quickly to all our queries. I will surely be approaching her in future.

I would not recommend Slater Hogg for their letting/ property management service. They were great at the beginning, but unfortunately that service fell away pretty quickly. The communication was almost completely absent. We had to chase to remind them to do the property inspections. The statements are opaque about the charges being applied (I had to ask what various charges were that I saw on my statement, e.g. 'CRS'). They didn't seem to take repairs seriously (once quoting me £660 to repair a shower tray. When I asked for a second quote this dropped to £156). Everything just required multiple exchanges and was like wading through treacle. I ended up switching to another management company a year ago. But I've just received an invoice from Slater Hogg for work that was done on the house 12 months ago. No explanation, no apology just an 'administrative error'. That was what prompted me to write this review. The company I'm using now are so much better and caring about customer service.

I worked with Heather and Nina to sell and buy at the same time. They were very knowledgeable about the process and were a calming and encouraging presence throughout.
Heather was very helpful by arranging a mortgage for the new property which accounted for my situation with a potential early repayment charge. Heather was also invaluable in checking whether interested buyers were actually able to put offers in as well as speaking to selling estate agents to get an idea of the size of the offers they would expect to receive which was greatly helpful in managing to submit a successful offer.
Nina showed great interest in the house that I was selling as I showed her round which gave me confidence as I did not wish to show viewers around myself. In addition to taking the viewings, I found the feedback that Nina provided very helpful in knowing what viewers thought and gave a good idea whether an offer would likely be made which helped me know where I stood in the process.
I found both were very easy to contact throughout and would definitely use both again.

I knew I was going to engage the services of Slater Hogg after Nina popped round to do the valuation and took her shoes off at the door. Nina was both professional and approachable, taking her time to explain all the options available. Her recommendations on our marketing photos/video were, I am certain, what drew in the viewers and solid offers we received.
Covid hit just after we accepted an offer, but with the help of Nina and Karen, we got where we needed to be. Incredibily supportive and patient is how I would describe them.
A big company who knows that the little things are what really matter.

Slater Hogg & Howison always seemed to perform well in the area where my old house was so it was a no brainer that I would use them when it came time to sell.
Nina, Karen and the team handled my sale professionally and just as they promised, I had people lining up to buy which was especially reassuring in the pandemic times.

The fees were very reasonable too and the pictures and video made the old place look great.

This was new to us and I don’t know if they are good or bad .How much is the market and how much is the estate agent . Certainly we have had much more communication from our current estate agent.We are glad we moved to another estate agent .
They did not sell our home, we still had expenses to pay .We were sent the wrong bill total .We are still waiting on a receipt for the payment .A request for a receipt of payment was made and we were advised “bank statement is receipt”
I wouldn’t recommend this company .

What can I say a fantastic team nothing is a problem they all work together from the first visit to the house, and us actually deciding to use Slater Hogg etc. as our estate agents very professional, house sold within 9 days on market.
I would honestly recommend any one to use them

From our first meeting with Nina right through to our sale settling the East Kilbride team were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble and we were so relaxed knowing Karen and her team were there whenever we needed them!
We dont plan to move again but if we do I can say we will definitely be using Slater Hogg East Kilbride.

From the start the team were helpful and professional and provided support every step of the way. Nothing was too much of a hassle and were reassuring during a normally stressful time. I would also recommend them for value as they were very reasonable compared to competitors in the area. I hope I dont need to move again any time soon but if I did I would highly recommend this East Kilbride team!

We have not moved house in 31 years and it was with great trepidation we started our journey to buy a smaller home. From the moment we contacted Slater Hogg we felt that the weight come off our shoulders. Everyone we dealt with in the company was so helpful. Everyone we spoke to seemed to know us and able to assist with any question we asked. The people who came to view the house also commented on the professionalism of the staff they had dealt with. The house was sold very quickly which is a benefit to all involved in the process. I viewed a few properties for sale with Slater Hogg and although the property I found eventually, after over 20 viewings, was with another agent, I feel that Slater Hogg East Kilbride definitely deserve a 5 star review. I mostly spoke with Blair and on a few occasions Karen. I found both to be very friendly, professional and always looking to update me on interested properties and accomodate viewings for me. From a sellers point of view they always called me for feedback and listened to what I had to say. The office is very conveniently located and well presented. You can just pop in when at the town centre and you will be made to feel welcome and all the staff look happy at their work which isn't that common but very refreshing! Thanks again for dealing with a fussy woman and keep up the good work :)

My partner and I have just sold our property and are now purchasing a property through Slater Hogg and they have been amazing. They were on the ball with every enquiry and accommodated any questions we had (there was loads). They kept us up to date with everything and gave advice where necessary.
Karen was amazing, so polite and cheery. She was always helpful.
Fraser was brilliant, the pictures he took trumped the ones our previous estate angent took which we think is what helped massively in gaining the sale .
And Blair was just full of knowledge and helped keep things calm when we started panicing!

Team are friendly and approachable.Even though the branch can be busy at times their service is never rushed. Used this branch to sell my flat and Kelly spoke me through the best package they had and finally managed to sell the property that had been on the market with another company for some time.
I always got calls of updates even if we hadn't had any viewers , so felt they were on top of it the whole time and didn't have to worry.
Was so pleased with the service that my family member used this branch to sell another property in the area.

My wife and I have just purchased a fantastic property through Slater Hogg East Kilbride and can't say enough positive things about Kelly (the branch manager) and her staff. Not only were they eager to help and incredibly supportive of us, but they put up with my - borderline neurotic level - questions and have remained helpful throughout the entire process. Can't say enough positive things and as first time buyers who had heard nothing but horror stories we consider ourselves very fortunate to have had such a great experience.

"WHAT A BRANCH OF DAFTIES" I used this branch of Slater Hogg and Howison to sell my house, out came their super salesman Fraser he told me more lies than Jim Carey in Liar Liar They advertised sell your house for £795 paid up front they market the house (advertise it in two web sites) you do the rest problem was this deal was new to them and no one knew how to use the platform, the deal was you get one week your property highlighted on both websites,super salesman Fraser sent my property live before I got the very expensive £450 home report that he recommended it took him a week to organise the home report so I lost the one week highlighted advertising when I confronted him about this issue he could only reply DOH So I decided to deal with Kerry the branch manager she said I would be better off letting them deal with everything at 1% of the sale price of my house so I went with that as I was getting no where, they sent a handful of people out to the house I sold it no thanks to them, They got a buyer who they were arranging a mortgage for that was August 28th move in date 4th October 3rd of October I get a call from my solicitor come to her office and sign the disposition deeds as I sat in her office she gets an fax from Slater Hogg can I wait another two weeks as the had problems arranging my buyers mortgage sale was off I asked Kerry for a refund the answer was no as the £795 was marketing costs so now I have to take legal advise SO DONT BE DAFT AND GO NEAR THIS BRANCH as they are a nightmare they are much better and honest agents available AVOID AVOID AVOID
Hi Scott I did what you suggested and sent them an email and to my surprise they NEVER got back to me, why do you waste your time and your customers time responding to your negative reviews when you don't give a damm, it is all about the money to you otherwise you would do something about how your branch is ripping of it's customers prove me wrong and get this sorted, your company is achieving the impossible and giving estate agents a bad name;....

I am a new landlord to the Glasgow market and found a real gem with Slater Hogg and Howison Lettings. I now rent out two properties through them and am delighted with their service. I live an 8 hour drive away so for me to organise, new carpets, keys, and inspections I needed a company that I could rely on. I know that I can rely on them to look after my tenants and properties.
