I will never rent property through this agency again????????????. It’s the worst experience I had ever and it makes me hate London!!!!!????
.When we viewed the flat, we were told it would come with basic furniture including a bed, sofa and table. However, after moving in we discovered that none of these were provided — the flat was completely unfurnished, ????????????making it impossible to live in
I can only sleep on the floor at first five days.
In addition, after paying the holding fee, the agency delayed sending us the tenancy agreement for over a month. ????????????I only received the contract three days before moving in, and only after calling and chasing them repeatedly.
This level of dishonesty and disorganisation is unacceptable, and I would not recommend this agency to others.

My partner and I recently rented a flat through Stirling Ackroyd’s Streatham branch, and the experience has been outstanding. Danielle, the Lettings Director, handled the initial process with a perfect balance of professionalism and efficiency, making everything smooth and stress-free. Once the tenancy was set up, Samantha, the Property Manager, took over and truly went above and beyond. She made sure we had everything we needed and promptly resolved any issues with care.
After many years of renting in London and encountering poorly handled situations with letting agents and landlords, this has been a refreshing change. The London rental market can often feel like a jungle, but this time I genuinely felt well looked after in every aspect.

Leaving a review after having recently gone through the property viewing process. Kevin H. is the one that looked after us, and right from the very first phone call he was incredible. He has an infectious energy that garners instant trust and you just know that he’ll do the very best that he can do for you. On the viewing itself, Kevin was both really respectful to us and the home we were visiting. He always knocked to see if anyone was in a room before showing it, took off his shoes and turned off the lights when done etc. This just goes to show he goes above and beyond for his clients. He was also very personable and knowledgeable. Ask him any question and he’ll have the answer for you, if not now then in no time at all over email. Honestly can’t sing enough praises about Kevin!

We walked into Stirling Ackroyd in Streatham High Road on a Saturday morning. We were greeted by Hussain Achour and explained that we were under offer on another property and that the vendors were taking their time to consider the offer. In the meantime, we were keeping our options open.
Hussain showed us a range of properties and we arranged a viewing that took place 45 minutes after we met. The property we saw was very close to our specifications. This is testament to Hussain really listening to what we were after. We gave it serious thought. Hussain was very polite and patient throughout the process and followed up with my partner in a timely manner always ready with other property options to consider.
Our circumstances changed and we did end up getting our offer accepted by the vendors on the original property. However, Hussain was a pleasure to deal with. We will refer any friends looking to buy a property in the area directly to Hussain. Thank you for a positive experience! ????

Terrible experience with Stirling Ackroyd, particularly due to the poor management by our assigned agent, Dottie Wilson. Communication was consistently lacking — we had to chase her with multiple emails just to get basic responses, and even then, the replies were often vague or unhelpful. Throughout our tenancy, she offered little to no support, and never provided real solutions to the issues we raised. It always felt like she was acting entirely in the landlord’s interest, with no consideration for us as tenants. A very frustrating and disappointing experience — I strongly recommend avoiding this agency if possible.

SOLID ADVICE AND INNATE WISDOM
There are so many good estate agencies out there and choosing one out of them all is never easy.
In a flourishing, fluid market, some of the agents are young, slickly competitive and as fast as Flash Gordon. Others are more measured, experienced and steady. I have learned that all of them are incredibly dedicated, hardworking and inevitably successful, but it was the latter set of qualities that drew me to Stirling Ackroyd.
That may say more about me than it does about them, but as one complication after another surfaced, I learned to appreciate their solid advice and innate wisdom – especially as I was a complete novice in the business of selling a house.
The process took at least two months longer than it should have due to the problems we faced! But we got there, and the date of final completion was a wonderful day and cause for great celebration!
I want to thank the Stirling Ackroyd Sales Progression Team for their hard work but, more especially, the amazing bunch at Streatham!
Wayne and Anthony, thank you so much for walking me through a daunting process, answering my panicked cries for help – sometimes outside of office hours - and for your grace, humour and integrity in dealing with my ignorance.
Thank you to your colleagues, too, for their efficiency in handling my queries.
I would not hesitate to recommend Stirling Ackroyd to anyone looking for help in selling a property. Thank you again!

I have used Stirling Ackroyd Lettings at Streatham for many years on a number of my properties and have dealt with many of their managers.
Without exception Danielle has been by far the most helpful and professional. She as a work ethic that is customer lead and deals with any issues promptly. There have been many occasions when I was having difficulties with the Head Office staff mainly due to personnel changes and she stepped in and resolved the problem. She is driven and has a pleasant personality and does not come over poorly in any way. I have noticed in the time I have known her to bring out the best in her staff with a calm and focused manner.
I would recommend her to anyone within the industry and am certain she can undertake more demanding and senior roles in SA or elsewhere if she was asked to do so..

Awful! We are currently leaving a property which is being advertised online with Stirling Ackroyd for new tenants. The service we have received has been shocking! We understand that you need to carry out viewings for potential new tenants, but these estate agents think they can show up whenever without even giving us notice. Our agreement was at least 24 hours notice, yet we have people phoning saying they're coming round for a viewing within the next few hours which is totally unacceptable. My house mate was ill last week and bed ridden and they said they were coming for a viewing. She told them not to as she wasn't fit to do a viewing and they still showed up anyway! We've now just had a call from one of them, having no idea that they were coming for a viewing, to say that they had forgot to bring the keys with them and asked if we could let them in... we had no pre arranged appointment with them to do a viewing! Absolutely shocking and unacceptable.

***RENTERS BEWARE***
I am posting this review as a sincere warning to anybody thinking of renting a property with this grossly incompetent organisation.
At the end of me and my partners tenancy we were disgusted to be informed that we would be only be receiving just over £100 of our £1600 deposit.
The reasons stated were that the flat was left in an 'uninhabitable' condition. A statement which was completely at odds with the check out report. We were also informed that the place was 'riddled' with bed bugs. These bed bugs were supposedly situated within the sofa bed, one small issue (I'm being generous using the word 'small' here) is that we were never informed that the sofa was a sofa bed and never used it as such.
This means that we moved into a property with a sofa bed that wasn't declared as such that was supposedly filled with bed bugs from a previous tenancy.
We were charged over £1000 for fumigation services, sofa removal and purchase of a new sofa.
So, this bombshell was dropped to us in a cold and informal email shortly after our tenenacy and we were informed that if we disagreed with their assessment we would have to follow the arbitration process.
Me and my partner spent countless hours on this form providing irrefutable proof of lying, gaslighting and pointing out numerous instances of gross incompetence over the 12 months we had the displeasure of dealing with this trash company.
The arbitration process was an unnecessary and extraordinary mentally taxing process which I will never forgive Stirling Ackroyd for making us go through.
I'll end on some good news. The arbitration process was a success and we were found in the right and recovered the majority of our deposit.
I really hope that someone reads this and decides to steer clear of renting from this company.
I'd actually love more than anything if someone we had the displeasure of corresponding with during this process is reading.

I bought my flat with Stirling Ackroyd and they were great, specifically Feroza who took me round my viewings and helped me secure the flat. It took a while to complete (not their fault) and I was always able to go and view and get in for quotes and measurements etc. It made the process really straightforward.

Given the very competitive situation in the rental market we were a bit apprehensive about looking for a property - it was really reassuring to deal with an estate agent (Kurwahn) who was so engaged and supportive.

Unhelpful and unprofessional.
When selling a property I expect those who consider themselves the experts to be the ones to guide, lead, and advise on the process. I can't attribute any of this to the service I received from Townends.
- Misled on selling price
- Different employees, asking conflicting questions and/or providing different advice often within days of each other
- A seemingly lazy approach to the art of selling (all they could suggest was "lower the asking price" over and over again, without offering any real insight to viewing stats and/or demand vs supply in the area
- No apparent care for my best interests
- Clearly not clued up on the type of property I was selling (shared ownership)
I could go on, but all in all a terrible experience and a complete waste of 3 months of my time. What made it worse was that within just one week of moving to another clearly more educated estate agent, my property has sold.

He was very knowledgeable about the property and the vendors position. We progressed with the property and the team were very accommodating when we want to visit the property.
