Very disappointing experience. My property sat on the market for four months with no progress and very little proactive effort from the team. Ben Cannon and Jake Williams offered minimal support and their attitude was unprofessional throughout. I expected better communication, better service, and at the very least basic courtesy. I won’t be using this agency again.
I am responding to the comments made by the owner of Taylor Robinson, as several of the statements are untrue and misleading.
From the outset, I made it absolutely clear that I wanted a family to rent my property. The applicants you put forward were not a family. I was told by Jake Williams and Ben Cannon that they were, but I later discovered it was a couple and two brothers. One applicant had a very low income and another was unemployed—information that was not disclosed to me. I asked for a family, yet I was presented with four unrelated individuals. This was not what I requested, and it wasted my time.
I was also informed by Ben Cannon that the applicants withdrew because they were viewing other properties. Yet you are now claiming that a viewer expressed concerns about my property. This is simply untrue. There is nothing wrong with my property, and your attempt to shift blame is dishonest.
After switching to Kings & Chasemore, they secured suitable tenants—a family, exactly as requested—within 24 hours. They have since confirmed that the new tenants are extremely happy with the property. This demonstrates that the issue was not the property, but Taylor Robinson’s handling of the process.
You had my property for four months and failed to find a suitable tenant. As a result, I have lost approximately £10,000 in rental income. This property should have been rented within a month, as Kings & Chasemore proved. Your failure has directly devalued my rental income.
Your staff were also rude and unprofessional throughout. Jake Williams repeatedly pressured me to allow pets, despite me stating from the very beginning that I did not want pets in the property. His manner was pushy, inappropriate, and at times felt like bullying. If I choose not to allow pets, that is my right as a landlord.
Finally, your claim that I behaved unprofessionally when collecting my keys is false. I was polite and simply requested the return of my own property. I will not accept being portrayed otherwise.
If the owner and staff at Taylor Robinson focused on providing genuine customer service instead of responding to reviews with false statements, we would not be in this situation. The unprofessionalism, dishonesty, and lack of care shown throughout this process has been extremely disappointing.

Taylor Robinson were my lettings agents more than 20 years ago. I was more than happy with them but they closed their lettings side of the business but found me another agent.
I recently discovered that Taylor Robinson were letting properties again, I was dissatisfied with my current lettings agent.
Since being back with Tayor Robinson I am highly delighted. I deal with Ben Cannon who "keeps me in the loop" at all times during the process of finding a tenant. He keeps me updated about all viewings. Within a very short time my property has been let.

Really disappointing experience overall. I joined this agency after being assured by a particular member of staff that my property would sell quickly, but after they left, no one even told me. The viewings were handled poorly, staff didn’t know key details about my home or the area, and I often had to chase them for updates. I even ended up doing my own viewings just to keep things moving.
After more than a year with no results, I went multi-agency, suddenly there was effort, and my home sold within weeks. Communication from management was dismissive and when raising concerns I was belittled and intimidated from the owner.
When I advised the owner that I would give an honest review of my experience , I was informed their IT department and legal team would get involved.
Having said that my house was sold through this agency in the end but what a distressing experience when raising concerns. I am now going through their complaints procedure.
Sadly, I can’t recommend this agency based on my experience as there was a real lack of professionalism, care, and accountability.

We had our rental property on the market ro sell with Taylor Robinson. We visited several agents when we decided to sell and Taylor Robinson were clearly the most knowledgeable agents. Although we have decided not to sell now, they had our property on the market for a couple of months and were faultless in their communication both with ourselves and our tenants. We had plenty of viewings and a couple of offers in the short time it was on the market, when the time comes we do have to sell or find another tenant we wont hesitate to go straight back to Tatlor Robinson.

As a first time buyer, I am so pleased to have dealt with Taylor Robinson as the estate agent for my purchase. Throughout, everyone has been so responsive, polite and friendly. Miles ahead of some other estate agents in the area.
Daniel Taylor was the first estate agent to call me on Monday morning to arrange a viewing when I had sent out many enquires for various properties, as well as the first to call me Monday morning after the viewing. Harry, who carried out the viewing was super friendly and welcoming, it set a really positive tone going forward. I was actually undecided between two properties after my weekend viewings at that time, but when Daniel rang first thing on Monday, it just felt right to put an offer in, and I'm glad I did, as this has ended up being my first home. And Kelly thank you for your vigilance in following up with emails various times throughout the process. It’s a huge relief to have a responsive estate agent, and also good for sellers to know Taylor Robinson are following up enquiries and viewings with potential buyers so quickly. Thank you all.

We were considering putting in an offer on a property but were put off by the unprofessional attitude of the agent showing the house. We arrived late due to unavoidable circumstances and were told we could look around while the next viewers were inside — which was fine.
However, during the viewing, we overheard the agent making sarcastic remarks to the other viewers about people arriving late and how his time is precious. Completely unnecessary and unprofessional. Buying a £500k property is a serious decision, and this kind of attitude made us feel unwelcome and disrespected. We’ve decided not to proceed with the property or this agency as a result.

Irresponsible timewasters. The sales pitch that they do - believe none of it. Literally everything they promised - went the other way. Communication is non existent from their side. You have to chase them up to do their job. Remember THEIR agreements with viewers and remind when they agreed to make a follow up call. Agents arrive to property without ANY knowledge about the property. They arrive 1 minute before scheduled time or late. Can't answer a single question the viewer has. Promise to follow up and never do so. When asked about "selling strategy" there's no answer. So selling strategy is sitting and waiting while you get a buyer who just buys. What a joke. Ah also the "communication as a strong point" - get ready to receive ai written responses - that is so "professional". Disappointment is a very minor description of the feeling towards their work. Judging by the reviews on trust pilot - those are more trustworthy than Google ones as they actually describe how they "operate".

We are absolutely fed up with this estate agent. The initial buyer had serious legal issues with selling his property, and, as a result, we wasted 5 months to get nowhere. Not once did they advice us as professional estate agents that we should re market the house, especially during April and May when the market peaks. Nor can I as second beneficiary of our estate get a response to any queries I have sent or even an update on the status quo from them.
They have now found 2 other potential buyers, and, as was the first time round, take an extremely passive role in moving things forwards. My brother, who lives in the UK and is handling the sale, cannot get a straight answer as to whether or not the buyers are for real this time because the estate agent is perpetually in a state of 'waiting for someone to get back to us'.
I think whoever is saying that these guys are good communicators and are motivated sellers must be the agents personal friends or something. This has been the opposite of our experience with these people.
I am now insisting that we change our estate agent and let someone with a little more enthusiasm and with more professionalism take over.

We purchased our house through Taylor Robinson, and unfortunately, the service we received after our offer was accepted was terrible.
To begin with, we were never told our point of contact had changed – we only found out after some of my emails were ignored and I ending up calling.
We were then looked after by Kelly, who just didn’t seem to care one bit; it was very different from the agent we used to sell our property and the effort they put into looking after our buyer.
The worst part of the experience was driving 1.5 hours to come and view the property after it was vacated – they sent an agent to show us around, and we couldn’t get into the property; it turned out they had an old set of keys. I understand mistakes happen, but you would expect an estate agent to have the correct set of keys for a vacant property they’d sold or at least to make an effort to rectify the situation instead of telling us “The sellers are out of the country” just for them to miraculously return and drop off the correct keys a couple of days later. To make matters worse, there was no sort of apology following this – just them trying to justify it by explaining that the locks have been changed – no acceptance that they should have known they held the correct keys before booking a viewing and us driving down.
Even on the completion day, we had issues – they phoned once to tell us it was complete. Unfortunately, I missed this call – but you would expect them to understand that we might be busy moving out of our property or driving, so maybe it’s a good idea to phone again on my mobile? Nope, they just sent an email and moved on.
Even when arriving at our new property, I was reminded by how little care they had – the set of keys they gave us included the 2 old keys that failed to open the door previously. Had I not known how poor their service was, I would have thought they were having a laugh… You might also expect to receive keys for the garage or at least some sort of explanation that they don’t have them, nope, nothing. We were also given just 1 copy of the keys which is appalling for a house they had sold and contracts had been exchanged over a week prior. They did indeed call us over a week later to say they’d been given more copies but by that point, we’d already changed the locks… do you not believe it was your responsibility to make sure you held all sets of keys before completion, or that it would have been courteous to at least try and get us keys for the garage?
No doubt there will be justifications for the above, but everything written is what happened to us which Taylor Robinson had no problem with at the time.

As usual a very defensive response... I'd be really interested to know which part of the review was not true, as you were unable to dispute any of these points.
If you consider it good practice to not let clients know of a contact handover until they've had to call after unresponsive emails, then fair enough!
It's also strange to go on about the eviction process when I didn't complain about that....
Ok then, having someone drive down to view a property that you don't have the correct keys for is nothing to do with you, and then giving keys that you know don't work to them when they've completed seems reasonable..... All it would have taken was better communication with the seller prior to booking us in to ensure you had the correct keys. Even then like I said, no one seemed fussed or even felt the need to apologise for wasting our time.
You'd be better served just holding your hands up and trying to improve things instead of being defensive or petty in your replies to any negative reviews...

My sister in law had a horrible experience with another estate agent and was recommended Taylor Robinson so switched to them instead, and they were fantastic! They were professional and friendly, got her a fantastic price for her house and made sure the sale went through without issue. Then, a few years later, I wanted to rent a property that was managed by Taylor Robinson and had an equally wonderful experience. I've been renting from them for a few months and they are easy to get hold of, helpful and fair. They seem to manage all the properties in my block and all the other tenants stop to say hi whenever they're there. Highly recommend for both sales and lettings!

I strongly advise not to rent through Taylor Robinson. They happily lease out unliveable properties and take no action to rectify issues despite being told throughout the full year tenancy. Now we are leaving they all of a sudden want to fix things because they know nobody else will rent the property in it's state but happily let us live in it for a year. Avoid!

Absolutely terrible company. Very helpful right up until contracts are signed. After that you are as good as forgotten about. Any issues in the property they do nothing but pass the buck rather than doing something about the issue. Technically the company are breaking the Landlords and Tenants Act 1985 but as they know you have still have no choice but to pay full rent regardless of issues encountering in your property they will ignore any requests made to get the issues resolved.

As the process went on, the team at Taylor Robinson were constantly supportive, at times spending up to 20 minutes on hold to speak to the purchaser's solicitors in order to seek progress or even an update on the transaction.

Awful! I recently had put down an offer on a other property which was looking to fall through, so I applied to view a property to buy with Taylor and Robinson. Long story short our offer got accepted and one of their colleagues took it upon themselves to call up the poor lady we was going to have to drop for obvious reasons and then proceeded to tell her that she should be mad because her estate agents wasn’t looking after her bla bla because she hadn’t been told yet that we was dropping out. Baring in mind they had called her 5 mins after telling us the news!!!! and then told her our NEW address of the property we was buying with them!! Broke GDPR and then lied to us, safe to say they lost the sale and I have stuck it out with the first original buyer. I have never known anything so unprofessional and embarrassing in my life. Pleaseeee go else where and use other estate agents, like Connells ! We will be taking this further and will never use them again.

Very smooth instruction process, once the property was on the market there wasn't much communication (property was empty so no need to check for viewings). Once an offer had been accepted I was advised I had been passed to a senior member of staff who oversees the process. I tried calling to speak to this member of staff multiple times and the only time I ever spoke to them was the first time when I was told they would send over an introduction which they never did. They managed to miscalculate their invoice which went straight to my solicitor, which I picked up on and the corrected invoice was sent across with no apology. Weeks after completing I was then forwarded an invoice from a contractor which they had arranged and had for months for payment.

Unfortunately estate agents as a whole get a reputation for broadly disappointing service. I have yet to find an exception.
We requested to have one single point of contact as we were dealing with anyone and everyone and had no continuity. We were selling a property over half a million and felt the fee justified the request.
I had to give a lot of input into the advert that went out as it was not doing the house justice at all.
Communication was patchy and generally picked up when they needed it to but there was a lot of chasing on our part. We also felt they weren’t always honest but I’d say that’s an industry disease and not an agent specific issue. Unfortunately they think they outsmart clients, little do they know...
We lost our buyer and immediately post lockdown we were shocked to see they put their most junior member (an apprentice) to carry out a viewing with a brand new family despite knowing how much was at stake at that point. We were told they were too busy so it was either that or do it myself, which I did. Those are the people who bought the house in the end (who they had also mistakenly stood up prior because of a miscommunication). No apologies from the estate agents to anybody.
On the day we moved we received a hamper from the agent we bought our new home (who we did not pay a penny to!) yet we are yet to hear a word from TR, no thank you, no congratulations, no gesture whatsoever despite charging thousands.
They’re no better and no worse than most I am sure... I am reassuringly disappointed.

This company did a great job with our house sale. We took advantage of their introductory offer which meant we saved money but even their standard prices are great and you get the benefits of a high street agent for prices that are competitive with online agents where you end up having to do a lot of the work yourself. They were efficient, very quick to respond if not available at the time, kept us updated every step of the way and made sure everyone was on the same page so when exchange and completion came there were no nasty surprises. The process felt smooth and seemless and a lot of the potential stress that could have been caused just wasn’t there. Will definitely be recommending!

It's nice in this day and age to have an estate agents who are local, friendly and have been established a long time. I recently had them out to value my property & found Mr Taylor to be friendly and extremely knowledgeable of the current property trends, he ran through the whole marketing process from start to finish and outlined the new fee which sounds like ill be able to afford my d?eam home. Great staff & great company.

Thoroughly unprofessional service from start to finish. We had been in the process of buying and selling a property through Taylor Robinson. We discovered that ourselves and everyone else in the chain had been misled in an attempt to secure the sale(s). Very naive to think we would not have found out. Pity really as it’s such a difficult process when selling and buying your home and you have people like this trying to take advantage of you. Don’t be fooled by the low fee option!

The Sales team does not like to disclose important information regarding the property whilst conducting the viewing. I was not told the garage door was broken and seller would not fix it during viewing. I was only informed about it after I insisted to see the garage and a offer was made on the property. I was provided incorrect information about the lenght of the lease. I was told it is 96 years, where as I later found out it was only 90 years. I felt a lot of pressure sales tactics is used by their sales team which is completely unfair. I found them very unprofessional.

I have used Taylor Robinson as the managing agent for my property for almost one year and am very happy with the service received.
The initial viewing and consultation with Ben was conducted professionally. It was this meeting with Ben that persuaded me to go with Taylor Robinson over other agents. We felt as though our property would be in good hands and thus far this has been the case. The pricing was also competitive compared to other local agents.
I am very impressed with Petrina, the property manager. She responds swiftly to my e-mails and acts upon my requests in a timely manner. She has been the perfect liaison with the tenants.
I receive regular inspection reports with photographs which gives me peace of mind.
I will continue to use Taylor Robinson for the foreseeable future.

I am delighted with Taylor Robinson Agency in letting my house, especially with property manager Ben and Petrina. The letting process was smooth and professional, and I was well informed at the each stage. Once the letting agreement started, Ben and Petrina have inspected the property on a regular basis, and the inspection report was available electronically with photographic details. Things are getting even better with their new property incidence reporting system, and the maintenance work and quotations are totally transparent and very well managed. I would certainly recommend Taylor Robinson to anyone who would like to let out their properties and they will be in good hands.

SEVERE health and safety risks.
I would advise anyone planning on dealing with property sales or lettings to think again, I have never experienced such lack of professionalism in my life and I am sickened at the treatment I have received.
I am in the process of reporting Taylor Robinson to The Property Ombudsman.
Jack Hickey showed us the property and requested the whole flat to be cleared of all leftover rubbish before we moved in.
I was made to drive 20 miles to pick up my key, to which I found when I arrived back at the property, were in fact the incorrect set.
It was only because I made Ben Cannon drop me the keys the next day that I was then allowed into my flat. He was happy to have made me wait 3 days before I could get into my flat.
I was not invited for the inventory, which was odd considering I have been asked to be present for every other check in, but it was abundantly clear as to why this was the case once we had entered the property.
Jack Hickey was present to assist whomever it was doing the inventory so he was fully aware that 2 days before the move in, nothing had been removed from the flat and it was in a diabolical state.
When Ben Cannon arrived with the keys, I was able to see that all of the rubbish was still in the property. Ben told me the closest time he could get this sorted was also Monday. It was only because I demanded the flat be sorted that day that he eventually sorted this out.
None of the safety checks had been completed as there was no gas or electricity.
I was left with £60+ debt for the electricity and £20+ debt for the gas.
With this, the only way I could use any electricity or gas was to top up however much, and 90% of what I paid would be used towards powering this flat.
I spent £20 on gas to get £2 worth of usage.
It was lucky I stayed around for the meter to update because whoever had done the inventory had taken the gas valve off so it was leaking copious amount of gas into the road.
I had to call the emergency gas man to come out, to which he could not stress enough how many peoples lives were put at risk if I hadn't noticed the gas leak.
The fridge freezer was covered in thick black mould inside, thus meaning I could not store any food until a new one was ordered and delivered.
This was not sorted out by Taylor Robinson nor the landlord, but the landlords son, who thankfully owns the shop at the bottom of the road so he worked efficiently to get this sorted for us, it was NOT his job to do so.
There are a total of 9 windows in this flat, not including the sky lights. Only 3 of these windows you can open. 2 of which you cannot lock shut.
The fire alarms were not tested in this property and even though they are battery powered, they are broken.
There is a smoke vent in the communal hallway that has had a flashing warning light since I moved in. I moved into this property in January, it is now November. This is a severe health and safety risk that no one has sorted after myself sending countless emails about it.
At first all of my complaints were being dealt with (I use that term extremely loosely) by Ben Cannon.
But after sending a number of complaints and realising that Ben would not admit anything in writing, I asked for the manager to be involved.
Lawrence Taylor is the Director and I am absolutely disgusted by the attitude we have received.
I have called up weekly (even daily at times) to resolve these issues and he has passed on a message to whoever answers the phone to me, that he is not in the office.
I have sent numerous emails, weekly (also daily at times), to which he has been ignoring for the best part of 9 months.
I have even conducted emails for Lawrence Taylor to respond quite easily to with regards to the grievances since we have moved in, and he seems completely incapable of giving me any sort of response... I do understand though that once he has put anything in writing he knows he and his company are completely at fault and can get into a lot of trouble so this makes a lot of sense.

Improvement:
At first we did not get off on a great start as the quality of the photos did not represent the property in the best light, I would suggest vetting these in future before going live with the advert. I felt a slight lack of pushing the sale of my property when we were under such tight time constraints to sell. The property did sell but ultimately due to the property not the Estate Agents.
Good:
James was very pro-active during the after sales and pushing everyone in the chain which was great. Without this the process would have taken much longer.
I would recommend Taylor Robinson but spend more time with them at the front end to ensure they get it right first time round.
