The valuer was very knowledgeable and advised a reasonable price. There was much interest initially and viewings booked however there were alot of cancellations. The photographs were great and the literature comprehensive. It took almost 5 months to sell and I accepted a much lower price in order to complete.

She truly was fantastic, on completion day her colleague seamlessly took over as Hannah had a days holiday. As a landlord for over 10 years I have had various agencies manage my properties. I have had numerous issues with past agencies so a friend recently recommended William H Brown to me. I met with the lettings manager who was professional and very informative and sure he could let my property. Within 2 days of moving to William H Brown, they had a suitable tenant lined up. Update 2020.Still renting out the same dangerous property in Finningley to unsuspecting families. No working smoke alarms no gas safety check but William H Brown dont have to comply. Very unprofessional company who unlike other tenancy agencies support dodgy landlords. They dont even want you to pursue your deposit.
Check out all the 5 star reviews. Lots of similar dates. It is very easy to buy these reviews. Their average Google rating has suddenly improved substantially. May be they have sacked all the rude staff! This company works with disreputable landlords. Properties do not meet environmental health standards and they are aware of this but they told us they do not need to. Georgina is particularly rude and does not return calls. Staff change regularly. Avoid if you want a family home long term!!

The sale of the property was fairly straightforward, easy to set up, and an offer was received in the first week of being on sale, albeit at the minimum of the price range. All that was great, with good quality marketing, and no hassle. Cannot fault them on that
The only delay after that was several questions raised by their surveyor, many which were not relevant for a house of this age, based on current standards.
We do have some criticisms why we did mark them down.
1. Mainly because we paid a marketing fee up front that we were told was refunded when we used their recommended solicitors.
Their solicitor took their fee AND WH Brown's fee IN FULL out of the house sale proceeds, paying us the balance.
We are now in the process of chasing after the refund. Take this into account when deciding on a conveyancer. It is actually a cashback offer which you need to apply for. You do get the EPC paid for.
The solicitors needed to be asked for confirmation to pass on to WH Brown, even though the keys had been passed on to the buyers. Ridiculous.
The solicitors are not local, and intitial cost did go up, so you seem a bit removed form that process.
2. During negotions we agreed to split the difference between out minimum asking price and the buyer's offer. WH Brown accepted a figure £500 less than this when the buyer offered that amount

First class attention and service from the initial contact to arrange a valuation, through to completing the sale. The marketing and promotion was excellent, very impressive audio and premium listing, and we were kept updated at all times, as we were unable to do the viewings ourselves, feedback from viewings was honest and prompt. Oliver valued the house, and was comprehensive in providing a very clear overview of the process and timescales, which was exactly what happened . Hannah provided help with the conveyancing team.
Jess, was outstanding in her handling of our sale, and certainly went the extra mile to keep things moving, she responded quickly to any emails and answered any questions clearly, she really did provide a 5* service , thanks Jess!!

She chased for us and gave us updates as promised. She even contacted.me if she hadn't been able to get any updates for me, which was a great peace of mind. Entirely disappointing service I received today.
I called past Queens Park in Edlington while on my lunch for an outside glance at the advertised rental property on behalf of my parents. No sign outside the house, so I called to ask the house number. The answer I got was that house numbers cannot be given out due to data protection, even though this would not be personally identifiable information.
The gentleman that answered the phone went on to tell me that he would like to take my information and would arrange for somebody to show me around. I explained that I was on lunch and did not have a great deal of time, but would ask my parents to call him. At this he said "OK, bye" and hung up. Clearly he was to busy to provide good customer service.
Rest assured that I will not be recommending a call from my parents or anybody else as I found the manner of this call to be rude and abrupt. If calls are recorded, I encourage a review of our conversation.
The caveat to this is that I may be letting my own property in the coming months, however, if this is how people are treated when calling for information I shall visit one of the other reputable agents in Doncaster.

I bought a buy to let property and had William H Brown (Doncaster) act as the managing agents. My point of contact was a lady called Victoria. From the start I was kept informed of all developments and queries were answered straight away. The service was professional and efficient and I would thoroughly recommend/use again. Moving for me I didn’t know where to start, felt I was missing out on houses before they even went on Rightmove and Zoopla, that all changed when I contacted William H Brown they cross sold me houses and seemed to quickly tailor their service to meet my needs. I previous used an online agent that I won’t name and the service was a nightmare, my sale was dependent on me finding a property and I was just left stranded on my search and sale, to change approach I thought I would give William H Brown a try with there long standing reputation and it hasn’t failed they’ve SOLD my last three houses and each time always find me properties that meets what I’m looking for, to be in a position to move. I’m hoping not to move anymore but if I do move I’ll be back to using William H Brown. Great Experience there tried and tested and they do what they say THEY SELL!!

Selling a property can be quite a stressful time
Especially for myself, it has taken a year for my property to sell due to 3 buyers pulling out in the last stages of the sale. Hannah, Jess and some others provided great support through the whole process, chasing solicitors and keeping me informed every step of the way. Fantastic service. Wonderful staff team. Matthew is an absolute diamond, who will go out of his way for his clients. He is a credit to the company. Cost to moving is crucial when looking to sell and move and Matthew has no only allowed me to by my first detached house but found me a mortgage where I’ve been able to look 3 Rightmove price bands above what other mortgage consultants could find and still be very comfortable with my finances. Highly recommend.

Right from the very start Tracy & the team could not have done any more to help us have a smooth ride whilst selling our property and buying a new one!
We would 100% recommend The Doncaster Team and the services that they provide, and now we've had such an easy ride of buying and selling we will certainly be back to use there services again some day. Terry at William H Brown is a great asset really goes above and beyond to find the details and sell the property on the viewings - the vendors must think he’s great and that’s my recommendation only from being a potential buyer.

They follow up on every detail promptly and are very professional, found my sister her ideal family home and gave her the confidence to have a great buying and selling experience. There panel of solicitors were great as my sister couldn't stop telling me how good the details, timing were and assistance she had from the branch.

Sellers and Buyers avoid these people like the plague. If you have to use them do not rely on any verbal communication and ensure everything is in writing up front - ensure you write into memorandums competition dates and penalties if they are not met. They will go back on their word, they will take advantage of your good nature, they will hold information back and not communicate between sellers and buyers and they will lie to you.

Not long term let's. No professional help. Let me move into a house with a Condemned boiler and I used it. Having no downstairs electrics since I moved in. All they seem to do is sign the contract with you and then pass it on to a third party company for you to deal with them

This company works with disreputable landlords. Properties do not meet environmental health standards and they are aware of this but they told us they do not need to. Georgina is particularly rude and does not return calls. Staff change regularly. Avoid if you want a family home long term!!

Words fail me with this agent. The lies I have been fed from them from making my very first offer on a property I should be entering completing on the 19th may 2017. First they said my offer had been declined. I was in a position to know the vendor wasn't able to respond my offer within the time period they called me back and said declined. At this point I told them they were liars for the above reason. I upped my offer some time later and this was accepted. Some 11 weeks later no sold banned on the property. I had to call them as their website and right move were still actively mart keying the property. This was after duvets had been completed.
Today I have received a call saying there's a problem with the chain and we will not be completing on the 19th. To my astonishment I'm informed the 3 RD person in the chain have had their mortgage offer withdrawn. ????? I said you must be mistaken I'm not in a chain. Guess what. I am. Only me and my solicitor were not aware of this small fact. I signed the exchAnge of contracts yesterday. No chain. I have called my solicitor who confirms he has had no notification of a further person in the chain . Browns have basically called me a liar and I quote Jess from the company who said "we informed you on the 4 th April" Really WHBrown , then please explain how my solicitor also has no knowledge of this.
I am in total disbelief , so shocked by their behaviours.

My Wife and I have been looking to relocate from Sheffield to Doncaster due to work.
We're a young couple who are working professionals, and have two cats. We contacted various agencies around, but always got responses of "We'll call you back." at the mention of our animals.
This sour experience changed once we called William H Brown. We explained our circumstances, ideal location, and pets to star staff member Charles.
Charles called the land, let us know they were fine with pets. Arranged the viewing. We had it, and were pleased with the service by Charles. Top notch and we agreed on the property with a day.
A bit of reference checking later, and we're going to be living in a fantastic property thanks to the efforts of Charles and Hannah!
I'm a Customer Support manager myself, the experience given by these two was nothing short of exemplary and I cannot express my gratitude enough!
You won't be disappointed using William H Brown for sure!

Utterly unscrupulous! I had an offer accepted with this agent and the property taken off the market, only to get a call a week later saying they'd had a significantly higher offer from someone else, and would I like to make a counteroffer. No thanks! Looking at other properties they advertise on rightmove, they routinely update listings stating offers that have been accepted and instructing anyone wanting to place a higher offer to let them know before exchange of contract date. They might not be the only agent to operate like this. It seems like a lot of them are as bad. Should be illegal! (and is in Scotland)

Having had a extremely poor experience with martin and co i have found debra and the lettings team approachable, hardworking and efficient and are always available.
