Simply the best agent in town.
We started off with the process of having John coming round to value my parents' house and his knowledge of the market was second to none. As this was a unfamiliar process for myself as well as my parents, he made sure that no questions would be left answered and with his expertise, this gave us the confidence to instruct with William H Brown.
Jonah, Isabella & Thomas done the viewings on separate occasions and they were fantastic throughout as they were very knowledgeable about the house as well as the overall area.
Lastly, the manager Jack Elston provided perhaps one of the best customer service we had come across in our lifetime. Whilst of course, selling a house can be a waiting game, Jack was phenomenal with his communication as he always kept us up to date how the sale was progressing to the extent that he was even providing updates on solicitors whilst he was on annual leave. Every bit of communication was clear throughout and whilst the thought of selling a house might seem daunting, Jack and the team ensured that the sale would be very smooth.

I would not recommend William H Brown to anyone looking to sell their property. As a young woman selling her first home, I was initially impressed by their confident sales pitch and felt reassured that I would receive excellent service. Unfortunately, the reality was very different.
From the moment my property went live, communication was poor. I had to chase for updates repeatedly, and the original sales representative who signed me up was never available or responsive. Instead, I was passed between staff who had little knowledge of my property and, at times, were quite dismissive—telling me it wouldn’t sell in the current market.
Beyond listing the property on Rightmove, I saw no proactive effort to market or sell my home. The lack of support and professionalism was deeply disappointing, and I’ve now decided to remove my property from their listings.
I expected better and would advise others to explore alternative agents who genuinely care about their clients and their properties.
The two stars are for the lovely photos taken of my property and for listing it on Rightmove. Beyond that, the experience was disappointing.

Drove 130 to be in attendance to be called and told the valuation appt has to be cancelled because there is a management meeting! Clearly a meeting is more important than a customer. While it's all about excitement of being the first time buyer, it's all a lot of things that we were unaware on the details of each step of buying. William Brown have taken care of that and provided the right advice for the mortgage, arranged the best rates and processed our paperwork diligently. This includes Insurance and other covers. It's important as customer too, to be quick in providing the documents needed to process things faster. We would like to thank Samuel Runacres who helped us on all of this.

Firstly, special thanks to the WHB team on completing my sale. It was really a complex journey given the fallouts on chain and the deadlines for me to move onto my new current home, so hats off to the team that were well focussed and professional throughout the sale.
After approaching several estate agents in town, I felt John did a fabulous job at the evaluation with a personal touch of every aspect of the property and the neighbourhood. From there on the team constantly engaged with me on viewing dates and scheduled with a possibility of restricted days. However, they were able to keep the viewing demands high and meet the targets on sale price as expected.
The most complex job was then managed by Jack, who then constantly ensured and advised me on the sale and my ongoing purchase completion. Without his determination and proactive workstyle the home move would have looked unlikely given the deadline on contracts for my next home. So, special thanks to Jack for the great work.

Steve and Courtney are genuinely lovely people. I'm coming to the end of a very intense Masters and we had been served with a s21. I have a tendency to procrastinate with home stuff so when we first spoke to Steve we were feeling pretty stressed.

I tried to arrange a viewing for two properties with this branch of William H Brown. I booked one and was to be updated on the other, but didnt hear anything, so had to call back myself to check if it was still available. I was informed one of the properties was unvailable, but the other was good to go for a viewing.
I received multiple text alerts, as late as 5pm the day before the viewing to remind me to be punctual. As such I purchased a train ticket from my home town to attend. When I arrived at the estate agent, I was told the viewing had been cancelled as the property was now under offer. I received no update to this effect and as such wasted my own time and money. I didn't feel valued as a potential customer and as such I informed the staff that I would take my business elsewhere.
I wasnt going to leave a review however I continue to receive marketing emails from William H Brown.

Avoid! Nasty, Unethical Estate Agent!
I haved listed 3 bed terrased with them but also used another estate who sold property within 3 days. Asked William H in Stevenage to take it off the market, they confirmed they did!
We moved and exchanged as per usual with another estate, not having any comms with William H Stevenage.
10 months down the line we receive nasty letter from collectors saying we owe £4,4k fees to William H Stevenage and must pay immediately! We did not sell via William H Stevenage.
Surpisigly No correspondence from William H Stevenage agents to say otherwise. Now I have to spend my time and resources to proof something that is fact anyway! Absolutely unacceptable and terrible way to treat customer!
Do not ever! I repeat ever instruct William H Stevenage to sell house or buy from them!!

I have experienced very poor customer service from W. H. Brown Stevenage office. (The issue is ongoing)
Me and my husband have rented a property via W. H. Brown Stevenage office in Ickleford area. After a year we purchased our own property and gave notice to our landlord.
We are in good terms with our landlord and have been in touch as neighbours.
After our notice, we had written confirmation from our landlord that we would leave the property on a certain date. We contacted W.H.Brown and stated that our landlord agreed this date and has sent the office an email in addition to this.
They said they will talk to our landlord and calculate amount due to pay accordingly. However the firm hasn’t got back to us with the amount for us to pay on time, therefore our bank has sent the full amount of the rent as we had a standing order.
We have contacted the estate agent several times to send our money back but have been told this would happen ‘next week’. It has been almost a month and now that we have left the property, moved in our new place and still not paid the amount back.
In addition to this it has been 17 days since we left the property and our landlord confirmed the deposit should be returned in full.
However neither our deposit nor the overpaid rent bas been returned to us.
We have been calling the office and the agent responsible is always out and we are left with no explanation by the firm.
I filled a complaint and looking to hear back.
This has affected our finances. Especially when you have a new house mortgage to pay and all the other expenses this firm has caused us a big amount of unnecessary stress.

We all know that moving house is very stressful, yet with the right Agent, the whole process can be seamless.
We had an amazing service from Jack, John, Jonah, Ellie and the rest of the WHB Team.
Our journey started with a valuation from John, he was pleasant and not pushy. He explained the timescales in selling our house and why we needed to put it on the market straightaway.
We then met the wider team and had lots of viewings, the team fitted these around our busy family life and never made us feel pressured to accept viewings. Jack was very proactive in replying to emails and was always ready to provide assurances and guidance when needed.
Jack gave us a lot of practical advice when it came to buying our own home and was very helpful in our decision for choosing a suitable area for our Family. He even helped us to negotiate the price on our new house and we managed to buy under market value. Steve Allardyce is the lettings manager and goes above and beyond for his customers. I was unfortunate enough to be the victim of a house fire, which meant I needed to rent a property through the insurance company, which was a nightmare. Steve however was continuously chasing the insurance company and ensuring that everything was done. Which meant my family and I were out of a hotel and into a house before Christmas. This would not have happened without Steve and his tenacity.

I have to say that right from the initial viewing to moving in, I've never witnessed such amazing customer service from any other estate agency.
My viewing was handled very professionally by Chloe and Steve made sure that all the formalities were completed in time and efficiently.
They even went out of there way to give me a solid deal by negotiating with the landlord and they ensured that I was in the property on the exact move in date that they had promised.
