Not satisfied with service as a tenant, made moving out unecessarily stressful, insisted on taking money from deposit to clean property, even though we made sure it was cleaner than when we moved in. expensive rent for outdated property.

Read contract very carefully when renting, they increased our rent as soon as shorthold tenancy ended (after 12 months), and after that was on a contractual periodic tenancy, not a statutory periodic tenancy which gives tenants less rights when moving ( a subtle but important difference). Flat was in very poor condition when we moved in, hadn't been cleaned properly (severe mold in places that had been missed), and when we moved out despite spending days making it cleaner than when we moved in, insisted on taking payment out of deposit to clean property.

Norbert at Williams of Petersfield was excellent from our first meeting, he clearly understood what we were looking to buy, didn’t routinely send details of every property regardless of suitability. Rang us with details of possibles, all of which hit the description, and then excelled by ringing us about a property not yet on the market. We subsequently made an offer prior to market, were accepted, and have now exchanged - all within a couple of months. His personal attention throughout the process stood out from every other agency.

I went into the home buying process as a first time buyer feeling slightly apprehensive about the whole thing, having heard some less than stellar stories about estate agents and knowing that the house I was purchasing had some unusual circumstances to it. Williams of Petersfield couldn’t have proven my assumptions more wrong.
Tina and Julie were utterly fantastic the entire way through. I felt entirely supported and well-informed by Julie throughout. I found her warmth and down-to-earth honesty refreshing. She was brilliant at managing tensions in the chain when things were getting heated towards end, and was the first to call and congratulate me once we got there. Can’t thank her enough! Unlike some agents in Petersfield, who are dishonest rogues, Julie and her team provide an honest and straightforward service. A dreadful company, they sold us a residential apartment in Petersfield that turned out to have a commercial lease. We only found out after our solicitor reviewed the contract. £1200 in legal fees and 2 months of our time wasted. Williams are refusing to even apologise, presumably because that would admit their incompetence. Just be very careful dealing with them and don't trust anything you are told both verbally and in writing. They are a disgrace.

Williams gave the most positive (and as it turned out - realistic) valuation of our property, and delivered with finding us the right buyers. Their fees were also very competitive. Any hiccups along the way were down to solicitors, and so Williams (Juliet in particular) did exactly what they needed to to get us to the finish line.

I have given 1 star because you can’t give none.
Our property is on with Williams (I think). We were told you get a weekly update. This just doesn’t happen.
I called the office Friday morning, was told a call back would happen shortly, it’s now Saturday evening, still waiting for the call.Our house has been taken of the internet and not even advertised in the shop window, it’s now a bank holiday weekend and our property cannot be viewed by prospective buyers until at least Tuesday the service is diabolical, how they stay in business amazes me.

Williams of Petersfield were absolutely fantastic. We tried to sell our house via Haarts who massively over priced it and did very little to increase our chances of selling. Colin and his team clearly have great knowledge of the local market, and our house was sold within a few weeks. Alistair Hire the letting manager called me following my initial review to threaten and attempt to intimidate me into taking my review down. My review is an accurate account of my personal experience of Williams and I will not be taking it down despite Mr Hires threat of legal action. My comments were. 1. Unnecessary and unauthorised repairs . 2 no sensible rent reviews. 3 tenants said the house was cleaner when they left than when they moved in despite me paying for a professional clean via Williams and rude bullying behaviour demonstrated again by Alistair telephone call.
