Recently rented a property through Lancaster's and the service was absolutely abhorrent.
Were quick to get us in for a viewing and then proceed with the application but from then on any correspondence was at a bare minimum. Spent weeks chasing the letting agent (Daniel) for any answers, eventually finding out we'd got the property a few days before we planned to move. I have since found out that our landlord accepted us as soon as we applied and was having the same issues on his side and only found out we were moving into the property a day before we moved.
On moving, we were only given a front door key. Landlord claims he gave the back door key too but this was lost by the letting agents. The property is a let and forget, meaning that after we had moved, any repairs or issues would be dealt with by the landlord direct; though it took three and a half weeks of emailing, phoning and eventually threatening to go stand in the shop and cause a scene for me to be given my landlords details so I could speak to him direct. This is all after Daniel begged me to leave a good review online (so glad I left it until I was dealing with the landlord direct).
Overall a terrible service. I have worked in customer relations my entire working career and the service received was diabolical. Do thankful I now have to deal with the landlord and not Lancaster's direct anymore.
