What an awful experience I’ve had with Mr Homes. Although the team was initially efficient in finding a tenant and completing the referencing, everything that followed was deeply disappointing. Communication after the contract was signed became appalling, and the agents demonstrated a clear lack of competence regarding the bond protection process. It took the agent 11 days to provide me with a copy of the contract, despite repeated requests. This delay meant the bond protection had to be completed at the last minute. Instead of acknowledging their own failure to supply the required information, they sent me a threatening, legally?worded email, which was entirely inappropriate given the circumstances. It became apparently that the agent simply could not understand how the bond protection process works, so the CEO became involved. Unfortunately, the CEO’s involvement made matters worse. He spoke to me on the phone in a patronising, condescending and dismissive manner, clearly assuming I was ignorant of the process and showing no awareness of the events leading up to his involvement. While the agent’s mistakes could be attributed to inadequate training, the CEO’s prejudicial demeanour and belittling tone reflect a deeper cultural problem within the organisation, one that cannot be resolved through training alone. Update: I have submitted a formal complaint with supporting evidence. The delays referenced in the CEO’s response were caused by the company not providing the tenancy agreement for 11 days post contract execution, despite repeated requests.
