8th Feb 2026 (5 weeks ago)Terrible experience purchasing a house through this company. The Woman we dealt with who we believe is possibly a partner repeatedly didn’t find answers to our questions, it seemed as if it were a constant battle throughout, she also came across false and over the top. As far as the owner of the company goes one meeting was enough for us. Occasionally we spoke with other employees who were always friendly and efficient, shame the same can’t be said for management.
20th Nov 2025 (17 weeks ago)We are still mid missives, moving towards exchange of contract day, but so far, it's all been good. I was selling on behalf of my brother with dementia, but they were very understanding and helpful. Advertising etc was good - it was not an easy property to sell, but they did it. All communications have been clear and good. I only did 4 stars for value for money as we are yet to see what the final costs will be. Nonetheless, as I live far away, it was important to have someone deal with everything, swiftly, simply and with clarity.

23rd Nov 2025 (16 weeks ago)Buying or selling a property is something that most people do so infrequently that it is very difficult to know whether or not a different Estate Agent could have done a better job. Could they have sold it quicker? Or for a higher price? I will never know. But my flat took many months to sell and eventually did so at a price that was 10% lower than its value so I will not be using Delmore in the future.

10th Oct 2025 (23 weeks ago)If I could give more stars, I would. Grant at the Cupar office has been wonderful helping us buy our first house. He covered all bases, was very kind and patient with us when we asked a million questions, and was so quick that we had moved within the month! The whole thing was super easy for us and very afforable. We're grateful for all his help, and will recommend Thorntons to everyone as a reliable and trustworthy firm, especially for first time buyers.

Staff in office were polite and friendly and easy to deal with. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.- 25th Apr 2019 (6 years ago)Went in to enquire about the area as a potential place to move to and the staff were about as much use as a chocolate teapot. Every question was met with an unhelpful response. Got the feeling she didn't want us to move there or she was incompetent at her job. Won't be back any time soon!!
20th Jun 2025 (8 mo. ago)Unfortunately, we found our experience with Thorntons to be pretty disappointing. Our initial contact was fine, but we suspect the house was valued too highly, & after 11 weeks and 2 price drops, we still had not one single viewer. Our contact in the office was away on holiday, & when I rang to speak to the person appointed to deal with the house in the interim, she seemed clueless as to who I was or anything about the house. We took the decision to remove the house from Thorntons and advertise it at auction. We did this, & accepted an offer within a few days of doing so. We understand that the market in St Andrews is very flat just now, but feel that Thorntons did very little to try and help us achieve a sale.
20th Jun 2025 (8 mo. ago)I have now worked with Strutt and Parker twice, first when purchasing my home last year and more recently when selling a family property. On both occasions, the team was exceptionally personable, supportive and attentive. They consistently went above and beyond, never making anything feel like too much trouble. Selling the family home was particularly emotional and throughout the process, the team demonstrated genuine kindness and understanding, which made an otherwise difficult experience much more manageable. Every member of the team played a part in the sale. It felt like working with an extension of the family as they all knew who I was and were able to assist promptly and effectively. I wholeheartedly recommend Strutt and Parker to anyone seeking an efficient, effective, supportive and compassionate estate agent in Edinburgh.
6th Feb 2023 (3 years ago)If it was possible, I'd have given Abbey Forth zero stars. Here's my experience with them: The place I rented from Abbey Forth had not been cleaned when I moved in. It was in a disgusting state with several broken fixtures. I took many photos and informed them that, because I was having to clean my new flat, I wouldn't be paying for the place to be professionally cleaned when I moved out. Throughout my year at the property, they were unprofessional and unhelpful when other problems arose: trying to charge me for boiler repairs (a boiler which was leaking on day 1), failing to resolve a drainage issue outside the kitchen door and, worst of all, falling to resolve an infestation of slugs in the kitchen - an obvious health hazard. When I moved out, they unsurprisingly tried to deduct £190 from my deposit for cleaning. I successfully disputed this charge with the deposit scheme, using the pictures and emails I'd sent them over the length of the tenancy. The deposit scheme found that, as the property was not cleaned to a good condition for the start of the tenancy, that I should only having to pay £60 In summary: Abbey Forth is the worst estate agent I've ever used. Rude staff and a general ethos of trying to squeeze money out of tenants for as little effort as possible. Only sign up with them if you are desperate and have no other options. If this is the case, then please make sure you document everything for inevitable struggle to get your deposit back
12th Feb 2026 (5 weeks ago)Would give 0 stars if I could, don’t go to them if you are thinking of renting through them, don’t go to them if you consider putting your property up for rent, don’t go to them if you want up to date emergency numbers for basic issues like plumbing, don’t go to them if you have a door handle that’s come off of a bedroom door and is now a fire safety issue (they still haven’t fixed it since first reported over 6 months ago), don’t go to them if you have any issues with a ceiling caving in thanks to a raw sewage leak (took about 40 days in all) nor don’t go to them about other people causing issues for you, as they refuse to deal with it, even if they have a duty of care for tenants suffering with said issues, or even investigate it for that matter. Might need the landlord to change letting agencies as these guys are utter clowns, dismissive and condescending. months of garbage from them.

Very knowledgeable and professional and one of the best around in my opinion. Respond time lightening quick and always makes you feel at ease with a very friendly manner 10/10 keep up the brilliant work.
2nd Sep 2025 (6 mo. ago)My husband and I had rented from Property Bureau last year and met Lorna Donald and Yvonne Davies, the lovely ladies who are the faces of Property Bureau in Stirling. They were incredibly helpful and informative and went above and beyond with helping us yanks with local insights. This year they located and helped us buy our home in Stirling. They were extremely patient in explaining the buying process in Scotland which is very different from buying in the States. They helped us every single step of the way with graciousness and humor when we made daily visits to their office. We would highly recommend this branch for all your letting or buying needs.
8th Oct 2025 (23 weeks ago)Horrible company since after covid. Used to be so polite and understanding and willing to meet tenants half way. Now they just want profits and are all for the landlords. Emails are sent in a patronising and rude tone. It used to be if there was an issue it was sorted asap but now everything takes forever. Thankfully I won't have to as I bought a property but I'd never rent through them again and I'd never recommend them.

From the outset, communication was prompt, clear, and consistent, and we were kept well informed throughout the entire process. They were always at hand by phone and email. The local office very useful to be able to pop in when needed. Our first meeting with Lyndsay was for the valuation. It was far more than just putting a price on the property, she took the time to understand our needs and provided thoughtful, informed advice about the process ahead. Her approach struck a balance between profession and a personal touch. Elaine was equally helpful, always quick to respond and offer reassurance when needed. With young children and pets, coordinating viewings could have been challenging, but the team made it easy. They worked with us to create a schedule that suited our routines and always provided plenty of notice. The photos and floorplan were handled by a professional photographer who did an excellent job with both the photography and floorplan. We were very pleased with how the property was presented. Communication was one of the standout aspects of the experience. We received regular updates on viewings, and all materials were reviewed with us first. The team were considerate in choosing how to communicate, using email when appropriate and picking up the phone when needed. They liaised efficiently with all parties involved and helped ensure a smooth process. Most importantly, we felt genuinely supported by a team that listened, guided us thoughtfully, and remained fully engaged from start to finish. No impersonal web portal, just real people, ready to help. The house sold quickly, and we couldn’t be happier with the way NEST handled the sale.

You can really tell Debbies has a high reputation throughout the area and that is down to professionalism and providing a great service in managing each individual client she takes on.- 12th Sep 2025 (6 mo. ago)Lisa and Sophie have now sold a couple of properties for me over the years and each time they been great to deal with. Houses have sold relatively quickly and keep me informed throughout the process. Nothing less than a positive experience dealing with them both and would highly recommend.
