5th Aug 2026 (18 days ago)We instructed Hamptons to fully manage two properties over a number of years. Sadly, our experience was one of repeated record-keeping failures, poor administration and the need for constant landlord intervention.<br><br>This was not the first time major issues arose on a tenancy ending as a result of poor record-keeping. On one occasion we had to issue County Court proceedings. On another, Hamptons refunded fees, but only after our position had already been compromised and after considerable unnecessary involvement on our part.<br><br>More recently, a statutory Gas Safety Certificate contained multiple admitted errors. After weeks of correspondence and six different factual explanations, Hamptons eventually issued a corrected certificate and apologised for providing inaccurate information. We were sufficiently concerned by the changing explanations to refer the matter to the Gas Safe Register.<br><br>At another property, works were instructed and carried out before we were even asked for approval. When approval was finally requested, we declined it, only to discover the works had already been completed.<br><br>A separate end-of-tenancy damages schedule of around £500 ultimately exceeded £7,000, but only after repeated challenges and investigation that we ourselves had to drive.<br><br>Hamptons charges a 10.5% management fee on rent collected and takes 15% commission from contractor invoices. Despite that, we have seen no evidence that contractors were selected on the basis of competitive tendering or best value.<br><br>We have completely lost confidence in Hamptons’ records, administration and contractor oversight. A fully managed service should reduce a landlord’s workload, not require continual auditing of the managing agent.
2nd Aug 2026 (21 days ago)Great experience dealing with Cameron & Freddie at Courtney Green. This is the 2nd time I have sold my house with Courtney Green and both times they provided fantastic support. I will only ever use Courtney Green and Cameron in the future if I ever need to sell my house again, it is a shame you can’t pick the estate agent when buying a property as if I could it would be Cameron. I always recommend him when people tell me they are selling their house. He gives you honest feedback and advice when discussing house prices, aims for the best price that is available but also gives you honest feedback on where the market is currently sitting. When I sold my first house it was a Seller’s market so lots of offers but there was no pressure to accept offers until we felt ready to everyone had viewed it that wanted to and we were ready to review and accept an offer. 2nd time round it was a buyers’ market, so we had to be patient for an offer to come in. Through both sales Cameron was great – always available to take calls, always responsive and dealing with me when things were getting stressful. He went above and beyond what you would expect from an estate agent, but it is what you need during the very stressful process of selling a house. I cannot recommend Cameron and Courtney Green highly enough. Even when Cameron was off, other agents stepped in and supported the house sale. Cameron is very proactive and actively chases others in the chain, he also keeps you in the loop on where things are at as solicitors are very bad at doing that. As I was going into rented, he advised me the best time in the process to find a flat so I wouldn’t be paying for two places at once but still enough time to find a place. Thankfully I was able to rent through Courtney Green again as they had a perfect flat available.<br>Freddie was amazing from the Letting team and was able to set me up in a perfect flat. Ones I had seen previously did not even compare to this flat. He worked his magic so the flat could be secured quickly and it was one less worry during the end of the sale process. He was very responsive to queries or needs I had, just what I needed in the stressful situation. The contract was turned round super fast and everything was ready for move in day, everything slide into place nicely. Move in day was very memorable, mainly due to the ease of obtaining the flat and it all being ready. Amble space in the flat and kitchen, which was filled very quickly :)<br>His aftercare since moving in has been great and been responsive to any messages or queries I have.<br>Great experience with Cameron, Freddie & Courtney Green! Definitely recommend as you know you will be looked after properly when using Courtney Green.

She is such a wonderful lady and explained things to us clearly even if she knows that we are just initially planning to rent. Will definitely go back once we're ready to make a move!

4th Dec 2024 (1 year ago)The agency were good in most respects, however they suggested dropping the price within a few weeks of the property going on the market, which made us question their original valuation. Ultimately the original valuation turned out to be pretty accurate.

Our sale was not without problems and they went the extra mile to help solve these problems. Aaron, in particular deserves a mention, he monitored the sale daily and kept an eye on the progress and any problems that arose, so he was on them immediately.

They were both professional and friendly communicators (phone and email) and they helped the sale of the property go through smoothly. I felt valued as a customer and that I received a high level of customer service. David in particular gave me great confidence in his level of expertise and understanding of the property market. I would recommend them to a friend.
