There were some technical issues on our part because we overseas throughout the sale of the property, the team were 100% helpful in resolving these issues. We highly recommend Sample Mills.

29th Sep 2026 (28 days ago)I had a really positive experience with Fulfords in Newton Abbot, particularly with Amy, who made the whole process from viewing the property through to moving in feel incredibly straightforward and well organised.<br><br>Communication was always clear and prompt, and everything progressed very smoothly without ever feeling stressful or complicated. Amy was friendly, approachable and warm throughout, and was always happy to help with any questions along the way.<br><br>Overall, the whole process felt very streamlined and professional, while still being personal and welcoming. I’m very happy with how everything was handled and would happily recommend Amy and the Fulfords Newton Abbot team.
24th Jul 2025 (1 year ago)Its a difficult market for selling. Properties are listed in abundance with valuations perhaps starting too high. Buyers are few and far between which meant that we had only 4 viewings over the same number of months. Every viewing is therefore critical and needs your agent to be fully appraised of features and any questions answered. Initial valuations versus actual market sale price need to be considered carefully.

13th Oct 2026 (14 days ago)Seriously I could not be more shocked at the level of service. Having seen a flat come on Friday I emailed straights away. I also called and left numbers. I then called on the Monday (which was a real chore as no one was answering the phone) after 10th time to be told that the lady who deals with letting not in, but they would leave a message for her I then call Tuesday morning 10 mins after the lines are open to say that she has booked all the viewings and that they are not taking anymore. Shocking waste of time and the attitude was really tough luck, not Im sorry maybe I could help with another property.

They handled the sale of my mum’s house very professionally and were always helpful, approachable and kept me well informed throughout the process.<br><br>They were responsive whenever I had questions and always took the time to explain what was happening. The whole team were friendly and professional, and I felt the sale was in safe hands throughout.<br><br>I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

He was always very knowledgeable on the properties he was suggesting or showing me around, and if he didn't know an answer to my questions, he would do his best to find out. He always came across very polite and was a pleasure to meet. He sets a very high standard that unfortunately the other agents I've met with are yet to meet. He is a credit to the company!

The transaction was not without its difficulties, particularly due to delays and challenges involving the seller’s solicitors, but John Lake remained professional, proactive and supportive from start to finish. A particular mention must go to Paul, whose communication was excellent. His information was consistently accurate, clear and straight to the point, which gave us confidence at some fairly frustrating stages of the process. His efforts undoubtedly helped keep the chain together and ultimately ensured that the purchase got over the line. We are very grateful for the support we received and would have no hesitation in recommending John Lake to anyone buying or selling property in the Torquay area. Excellent service from a team who genuinely worked hard to get the job done.

8th Jun 2026 (20 weeks ago)Very disappointing experience with Rendells Lettings in newton abbot.<br><br>We expressed serious interest in a rental property in early May, provided documents immediately, travelled down from Oxfordshire to see if we could view the house, followed up multiple times by email and phone, and even visited the office in person (told them it was an 8 hour drive for us). After which we got not one call or email from the person who runs the lettings dept. Throughout the process we were repeatedly told that the landlord would “come back with further instructions,” but after more than a month we still received no proper update or clear answer.<br><br>And also they told us that they get so many applications they just don’t care and will not respond to anything. They refuse to do online viewings (which all the other agencies are willing to do), don't respond to applications (after you have filled out given them your life on paper basically). Complete limbo.<br><br>Meanwhile, the property remained advertised online the entire time!<br><br>What made the experience frustrating was not necessarily losing out on the property, but the complete lack of communication and basic courtesy. Calls and emails went unanswered, timelines were unclear, and we were left unable to plan our own housing situation despite explaining that notice had to be given on our current tenancy.<br><br>Other agencies we dealt with in Devon were far more professional, responsive, and respectful.<br><br>Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend Rendells Lettings, other agencies in Devon are far far better and I can’t recommend them enough, Rendells lettings in newton abbot was in 25 years of renting through agencies the very worst experience i have ever had, take my advice and don’t do it

Felt like we were just processed rather than engaged with. Promised much on first meeting and very encouraging. Sadly empty words about actual engagement, advice or support.

They dropped prices over a few weekends and gave the impression there was a problem but, the fact we sold it privately within days of making it available elsewhere only goes to show their lack of scruples.
