   My experience with Dacre, Son and Hartley’s Skipton branch was somewhat mixed. Ultimately, I was able to sell my property within five weeks, which I'm grateful for.<br><br>The overall marketing of the property didn't seem hugely proactive. When it came to the initial valuation, I felt they could have lent greater consideration to the condition and interior of the property, as the approach seemed to rely largely on a broad-brush search of properties in the local area which typically were in need of modernisation. I also got the impression that their network for selling traditional Skipton terrace properties may be somewhat limited, with firms such as Harrison Boothman or Hardisty perhaps being more specialised in this area.<br><br>In addition, I felt that there was much room for improvement in terms of client care. I was contacted on a handful of occasions with rather catastrophising scenarios which, in hindsight, were not warranted.<br><br>Overall, the staff were very pleasant and easy to reach, but I was left with the impression that the branch may rely quite heavily on its prominent high-street location and the footfall it attracts, rather than on a more proactive and tailored approach to selling properties....    We chose Reed Rains Colne in good faith They suggested the Modern Method of Auction. which would be quick and easy It was NEITHER!. After almost 6 mths the house is now almost ready to exchange contracts .It was handed over to I Am Sold and we were obliged to accept a much lower offer and from then on Reed Rains dropped us. When we questioned this after trying to move things along we were told it was no longer their problem. They arranged a firm of Solicitors at our request but it was a not a local Solicitor it was Prosperity Law LLP in Manchester who have been nothing but trouble from day one. I have reams of correspondence from e mails but it was almost impossible to have a conversation with them Messages ignored, phone calls straight to answerphone. If this is the way Reed Rains does business then I have to say It is a disgrace.To anyone going for Moderm method of Auction I would say DONT and find another Estate Agent.... Read more
