12th Oct 2026 (15 days ago)My experience with Dacre, Son and Hartley’s Skipton branch was somewhat mixed. Ultimately, I was able to sell my property within five weeks, which I'm grateful for.<br><br>The overall marketing of the property didn't seem hugely proactive. When it came to the initial valuation, I felt they could have lent greater consideration to the condition and interior of the property, as the approach seemed to rely largely on a broad-brush search of properties in the local area which typically were in need of modernisation. I also got the impression that their network for selling traditional Skipton terrace properties may be somewhat limited, with firms such as Harrison Boothman or Hardisty perhaps being more specialised in this area.<br><br>In addition, I felt that there was much room for improvement in terms of client care. I was contacted on a handful of occasions with rather catastrophising scenarios which, in hindsight, were not warranted.<br><br>Overall, the staff were very pleasant and easy to reach, but I was left with the impression that the branch may rely quite heavily on its prominent high-street location and the footfall it attracts, rather than on a more proactive and tailored approach to selling properties.

12th Oct 2026 (15 days ago)Awful move in experience due to staff ineptness added immense unnecessary stress and almost left me homeless, extremely slow and unbothered about getting issues sorted (I was left without hot water for over a month, again adding unnecessary stress for something that turned out to be an easy fix) and after all that, tried to scam me out of most of my deposit when it came time to move out. Luckily I had strong evidence the issues were pre-existing but absolutely diabolical to even try to take peoples hard earned money away from them over issues they damn well knew were pre-existing and never even bothered to fix between tenancies.<br><br>If you absolutely must rent with them be sure to take plenty of photos and videos of the property THE FIRST DAY of moving in and thoroughly check the inventory report as there were really obvious issues missed in mine that they tried to pin on me at the end of the tenancy.

They went out of their way to help and assist us, and even spent the best part of 2 hours in the office when my brother and I were having issues with the previous agency, trying to squeeze money out of us for unnecessary fines, and helped restore our faith in the business of selling our parents house. Highly recommended ??????

3rd Feb 2022 (4 years ago)We chose Reed Rains Colne in good faith They suggested the Modern Method of Auction. which would be quick and easy It was NEITHER!. After almost 6 mths the house is now almost ready to exchange contracts .It was handed over to I Am Sold and we were obliged to accept a much lower offer and from then on Reed Rains dropped us. When we questioned this after trying to move things along we were told it was no longer their problem. They arranged a firm of Solicitors at our request but it was a not a local Solicitor it was Prosperity Law LLP in Manchester who have been nothing but trouble from day one. I have reams of correspondence from e mails but it was almost impossible to have a conversation with them Messages ignored, phone calls straight to answerphone. If this is the way Reed Rains does business then I have to say It is a disgrace.To anyone going for Moderm method of Auction I would say DONT and find another Estate Agent.
12th Oct 2026 (15 days ago)Disgusting service! Told Evie I was in the hospital and would always call back however she rang persistently every day from 9am! And several emails 5<br>too! I was given just 2 days to move in after the tenant moved out, wasn't cleaned at all and because I asked for a 2nd viewing when the house was empty she then said I'd pulled out of the tenancy, blatant lies! Wouldn't refund the holding fee and now having to make a formal complaint. Manager and evie both shocking, definitely wouldn't recommend this company! She didn't even know if the fire worked in the property which says it all really! Definitely won't be using again!
