From start to finish, the entire process was handled with efficiency and care. I was pleased with the service I received from Alex, Aaron and Anna throughout. The communication with Aaron was excellent — I was kept informed and felt fully supported through the process. I wholeheartedly recommend Thorney Groves, Chester to anyone looking to sell their home. A great service from a team that goes the extra mile.

15th Jun 2026 (22 days ago)This company took over the running of my apartment 2 years into my tenancy. They failed to carry out any maintenance of issues that I reported to them, beyond sending somebody out to look at it and make a note of it. However, they also managed to bump up my rent 3 times in the 3 years of them taking over my tenancy, before telling me that the apartment was now going up for sale. Of course, they then decided to with hold £540 of my deposit, for apparent 'Cleaning'. Yet 24 hours afterwards they had sent work men to completely rip up the floor, repaint the walls in a new colour, and rip out all of the unites. So, I feel like I have been charged for the refurbishment of the apartment as to increase it's likelihood of selling . As the apartment was left in exactly the same state as I found it, bar the few items I failed to move out. Good luck selling the apartment because Soho has extended right under the flat and thus the entire apartment vibrates at night. While every other week there's sewage dripping through the ceiling into both the corridor outside, and the apartment itself.
26th May 2026 (6 weeks ago)Haven't even viewed the property yet and have already shown red flags, no photos of the home but demands a garantor before you could even want to view. And very rude, no regard for working scheduals for prospective renters, never asked availability before booking in for a viewing sent us an appointment we where unable to do due to work! After telling them this they replied with well this is the only appointment available due to high interest after not contacting us for nearly 2 weeks, extremely unprofessional behaviour and shows red flags in the way they conduct buisness I feel very sorry for the landlord using them, if this is how they are treating prospective tennants already before a viewing can't imagine how they treat them when they sign the tenancy. They don't even end an email with the person your talking too, I'd advise landlords to avoid this company if they want decent renters and want to keep them.
26th May 2026 (6 weeks ago)My main engagement has been with John G and his team from a letting point of view. From my perspective as someone that has worked with the likes of Martin & Co, Purple Bricks and god knows how many other agents that resulted in me working as well directly with the tenants in the end I very much took away the following: 1. Level of professionalism when engaging early days in terms of providing clear feedback i.e. the status of the house, what really needed doing etc. 2. Getting me market value regarding the rent - in previous scenarios (Martin & Co) seemed to be acting on behalf of the tenant as oppose to getting me the best value (despite the fact that they would make more as a result) 3. Reputable organisation that did not steal rent money (again Martin & Co cheated me out of a months rent indicating that the tenants had not paid - upon validation with the tenants (who shared a back statement to prove it). 4. Easy to work with and friendly team 5. Timely in terms of following up on securing rent money and getting this paid Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable agent for buying and / or letting.

24th Mar 2026 (15 weeks ago)Very disappointed with my experience. I was interested in a property they advertised and made several attempts to arrange a viewing. Over the last 2 months I called around 10 times, but every time I was given unclear information. On my last call, I was told the property had already been sold without anyone informing me earlier. In my experience, the staff were not honest and the communication was very unprofessional. I would not recommend this estate agent and suggest others be careful when dealing with them.

11th Oct 2022 (3 years ago)We did not feel as if we received a friendly, professional experience. Maybe they were just too busy but we struggled to get hold of anyone or get any information about our buyers and the chain we were in. In the end we backed out of our sale as it was taking too long and the housing market was changing fast.

16th May 2026 (7 weeks ago)Over-valued the property despite being told it was a complete renovation project and mortgage would be difficult to get. Our own valuation - about which the agent was sceptical and scoffed at us - turned out to be spot on.
2nd Jun 2026 (5 weeks ago)a horrible company to work with. do not go here. useless at picking up phone calls. pass all there work to overseas virtual assistance who help you with nothing. they are a scam company, disorganized, rude and they still haven't refunded payments to me thats owed over 4 months. will take to small claims court if the payments are not cleared within the week of this review. The owner should be ashamed of this set up. I have 120 properties and worked with multiple agents over my businesses and this is by far the worst. they are a joke and i wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have proper compliance and insurance structurer behind there company set up. do not work with them.
