I would strongly advise anyone considering renting through Leaders to read the terms and conditions very carefully and proceed with caution. My experience as a tenant was extremely disappointing and caused me a tremendous amount of stress, to the point that it affected my health. There were numerous administrative errors at the end of my tenancy, and I spent an unreasonable amount of time trying to correct mistakes that should never have happened in the first place. I paid monthly fees for the deposit replacement scheme throughout my tenancy, only to discover that it offered virtually no benefit whatsoever at the end of the tenancy. This was never explained. Despite leaving the property in an excellent condition (landlord repeatedly stated I made it look amazing) and carrying out a thorough deep clean, I was still charged for professional cleaning. I also left the property a couple of months before the end of the tenancy. Although a new tenant was found the day after I gave notice, meaning the property did not need to be advertised or remain vacant, I was still charged £899. In total, I was charged more than £1,100 at the end of the tenancy, despite having already paid almost £2,000 into the deposit replacement scheme over the course of the tenancy, money that I never recovered and from which I saw no benefit. To make matters worse, further administrative errors resulted in my landlady and guarantor being informed that I had failed to pay rent when, in fact, I had paid the amount due. This was both embarrassing and completely unacceptable. Based on my experience, tenants are not treated fairly, communication is extremely poor, and mistakes can have serious financial consequences. I would encourage prospective tenants to be extremely careful and ensure they fully understand every charge before signing anything. The estate agents need to learn from this massive failing and improve things going forward.... Read more
