The team at Alan De Maid have been fantastic from start to finish with the sale of my father's flat. Nothing was too much trouble, they provided information on local contractors to help with disposing of unwanted effects, they supported with "chasing" (in an appropriate manner!) the various parties involved in the sale - I could go on. I would definitely recommend them to other sellers in the local area. I also want to give a specific mention to Ross who was always there on the end of the phone or email, his support and advice during this whole process has been invaluable - thank you!

Our experience with Alan De Maid Beckenham was nothing short of disastrous. The sale dragged on for 6 months purely due to their incompetence and failure to do the basics of their job. The allocated agent consistently failed to chase relevant parties, didn’t follow up on the management pack, and directly caused a one-month delay to completion.
Communication was appalling. Shockingly, they even lied to us — our solicitor confirmed they never sent an updated memorandum of sale despite insisting they had. No apology has ever been offered for this dishonesty or the repeated mishandling of our sale.
There was zero accountability when we raised a complaint. Handover processes were nonexistent — our agent went on leave at a critical stage without telling us. Multiple professionals in the chain echoed the same frustrations, confirming that Alan De Maid were failing to do their job properly.

We chose Alan de Maid to manage the sale of our property and they were great from the initial call till completion.
They were quick to organise our property listing with professionally shot photographs and they put it on premium on major property websites. They frequently checked in with us to tell us how the listing was doing and arranged a number of viewings and so the property was off the market in a couple of weeks.
They remained communicative throughout the sale process and were ready to answer any questions we had. A particular mention needs to go to Ross who was incredibly helpful throughout the whole process. We would definitely choose them again! All in all, happy customers!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Amir was rude to my wife and they wont put a offer in without prove even though legally they have to put forward any offer. We viewed a property and they refused to put the offer on same day but they favored a easy purchase. Ross then encouraged a bidding war.

We consulted with a couple of different agencies before signing up with ADM. Lisa's professionalism, knowledge of the local area and outstanding knowledge of the market made our choice very easy. What struck us about AdM, and in particular Lisa Knight at the Beckenham branch, was just how passionate and excited they were at the prospect of being able to sell our house. It was an enthusiasm you simply don't experience with other estate agents and when your estate agent demonstrates those qualities in front of prospective buyers, needless to say it makes the selling process that much quicker and easier. I called Alan De Maid out of pure desperation as the property they were marketing was at the top of the chain I was in (and my estate agent was not providing me with any details). I approached the Beckenham office of Alan de Maid and was introduced to Lisa Knight. I met her at the first of a few properties I would be taken to. If you are selling the area covered by the Alan De Maid branch, Beckenham, then look no further!! The team at ADM are truly unbelievable and go over and beyond in how they can assist. For this reason, we have purchased 2 properties through them, sold 1 and rented 1, all in the Beckenham area.
Munsoor was always at the end of the phone in providing expert advice through times of Brexit (out second purchase with ADM) through to Covid-19 (one of our property sales with ADM).
Lisa is massively dedicated to her clients and ensuring they are guided through the entire process with excellent communication. There appears to be no hour of the day where she was would not make herself available to chat, from late night calls, to calls during day off, and even calls during her son’s birthday (I felt bad for that one!)

We were going through a property purchase and sale with Alan de Maid in Beckenham. The day before we were due to exchange, the agent notified us that the purchase of the property we were buying would not proceed. It transpires that they withheld information from us and did not act in our best interests. As a result, we've lost time and money not to mention the undue stress this has caused us as a family.
Given the circumstances, we asked the branch manager to waive the 28 day termination period (a small ask in our opinion) but he refused so we've now raised a formal complaint.
They failed to treat us fairly, do the right thing and act with integrity. Needless to say we would not use this agent to purchase or sell a property again.

Would like to post a review to highly recommend Alan De Maid Beckenham- we have recently completed on a house sale- having purchased through Alan De Maid (not sold via them unfortunately but wish we had of!).
The service received was first class- nothing was ever too much trouble, every question answered, assistance provided in every step of the process- and a very balanced approach in the dealings with both vendor and buyer (me!). Special mention goes to Lisa Knight with whom we dealt with mainly- simply a pleasure in every aspect of her role.
I think also worth noting that we used Alan De Maid in house mortgage broker, Gary Tynan, to secure the mortgage and also re-mortgage another property- once again exemplary service- jumped hoops and locked down two terrific deals.

What can I say! Myself and the ex wife where probably one of the hardest jobs any agent could have. On one side my side we did everything to get the best price possible, from the ex wife side she was trying to insure the worst out as she was trying to bankrupt me! So quite the job. Lisa, who initially "valued" our flat was confident and knowledgeable, she lives in the area and has a real grasp of the local market. She came equipped with plenty of comparables and was able to instil confidence in her marketing strategy from day one. We opted for a professional photography package which was well worth the money, Lisa explained about the importance of photos as a first impression. We received the photos and were online within a couple of days from when Lisa first visited. We were absolutely blown away with the quality of the photos, they were head and shoulders above any other photos with other agents in the area and I'm sure played a big role in selling so quickly. We sold within 3 weeks in what was (and still is) considered a tough market. Lisa was brilliant throughout the process. She was always on hand and gave me regular updates throughout, and I truly felt she had the best interests of both me (a seller) and the buyer in mind. She kept things moving with regular chasers which was very helpful. If I was selling again I wouldn’t hesitate to use Lisa again. Highly recommended.

This sale was not straightforward because there were several parties involved and none were local to the property. Ralph, at Alan de Maid, helped to move the sale forward many times. He helped to push the solicitors along with the conveyancing, visited the property several times on our behalf to check information, and showed people around the property when necessary for clearance etc.
Ralph and all the staff were very pro-active and always seemed very pleased to help no matter what challenges we came up against.

Rubbish. Promised lots and didn't deliver. Had no contact for a month and no call backs when I tried to get in touch. For sale board is still stuck outside house 2 weeks after taking our property off the market.
Avoid and go with one of the bigger and more professional agents.

Initially very professional, and pleasant and they say all the right things to you when turning up to value your house...not so good when you thank them but reluctantly and politely decline to sign with them and choose another estate agent instead. As we had no reply to that we thought that was that.
However, a couple of months later one of their agents (who had met us to value our house) rang my partner, asking how the sale of our house was going. They knew that it was still on the market and proceeded to criticize the estate agent that we were using, saying that they had a very bad reputation, criticized the manager of the branch and smugly talked about how many properties that they had sold recently etc. in a very gloating, unpleasant manner. We have since sold our house through the agents that they were so critical of and we're very glad that we did not sign up with Alan de Maid after their rude, unprofessional behaviour.

What a great estate agent. They found buyers for my property quickly and at the right price. They then organised everyone else in the chain. I'm positive the sale would have fallen through without their experience and hard work.
