My career in estate agency started in 1996 and I’ve been with Chase Buchanan since 2002. As Senior Sales Manager, I have worked across many of our offices, including Twickenham, Hampton Hill and Isleworth, but the majority of my career has been spent in St Margarets, 17 years out of the last 26 years to be precise! Having started my career in St Margarets back in 1996.

Let's start with the initial communication, which was lacking. David confirmed the viewing, but Alessando also offered to show me another property on the same day without coordinating with David. This lack of communication led to a chaotic situation when we arrived, with the office scrambling to accommodate us. The receptionist, without even asking for our names or how we were doing, blamed me for the booking mix-up. The "larger than usual" garden turned out to be just a patio, which we pointed out. Instead of addressing our concerns, she became visibly angry, slammed the brochure on the table, rolled her eyes, and criticized us for being honest. She then abruptly told us to view the flat on our own. We politely informed her that we were leaving and that her behaviour was extremely unprofessional.

BEWARE, renters! The agent, Jack in St. Margarets lied to me at the showing of the flat. I am amending my previous 5-star review to reflect the reality that ensued after what I thought was a positive experience. The agent, Jack, sold the rental as "no electric bills", along with other conditions on the flat. Upon my first electric bill, I called their office to inquire, and Trish was curt and abrasive in telling me that it's my fault for signing with these terms. Indeed, this was a detail I overlooked among the stack of pages. I would never have signed had I noticed the misrepresentation. Of course they will not be held accountable for making up selling points on the spot and putting people in between a rock and a hard place once they have moved in. I left as soon as possible -- I did not renew the lease.

We have received an outstanding service when renting a property in the Richmond area through Pippa & the team.
The real differentiating factor (compared to other lettings agents) is that from start to finish everything that we have agreed on have been respected throughout the whole renting process (removal of items from the property, cleaning standards, timeline, etc.). They have also been really responsive!
They really do care about all of the tenants' needs which makes the service exceptional as a whole!

They made sure we had regular updates on any availability, understood and looked for exactly what we needed and didn’t give up even when it seemed a lost cause, They also called regularly to check up on what we were thinking and to let us know they was still on the lookout, honestly it’s very rare you genuinely get someone who goes above and beyond in any field and at times it felt we were getting preferential treatment.
In the end it seems Chase Buchanan has found us the perfect place, in the perfect location, with all of our requirements, can’t wait to move!

We unfortunately had a very negative experience with Chase Buchanan as renters. Without boring everyone with all the details I will try and summarize.
We found a rental flat via Chase Buchanan in St. Margaret's. We liked the flat and initially we had no complaints. However, about six months into our two year lease we received notice from Chase Buchanan that they had planned viewings for that Monday for our flat, as the landlord had decided to sell it. This was news to us. The next day Chase Buchanan had the for sale sign up in the front of our flat - all of this was pretty shocking to us and out of blue. We additionally had no time to process this information - we were told on a Friday and viewings were set up for that following Monday!
Luckily we looked into our lease ( a lease they facilitated and asked us to sign for two years) we realised that the lease had a clause stating that it could not be broken within the first year. As the one who created the lease you would imagine they would know this and advise the landlord of this. However, to make life easier we decided that we would leave after the first year which the landlord wanted. We agreed this all in writing via email and Chase Buchanan was included in all of these emails.
The end of the year comes along and to make sure we are aware of the process of moving out therefore we email and write to Chase Buchanan. After 10 days we receive a phone call and a email and they in return to advise us that we are breaking our lease by leaving and we need to give at least two months notice. After explaining that this was agreed by the landlord, who wanted to sell the unit and wanted us out, we provided copies of the correspondence of these emails (which they were originally cc:ed in ). They responded by stating that although they have reviewed these emails and my follow up email a few months earlier confirming that the landlord still wanted us out they explained that this is not in a official document and therefore could not be honoured. Luckily we have family members who work in the leasing industry and able to advise us of our rights and finally a move out date was agreed.
All of this was pretty shocking to us and we felt that we really let down by Chase Buchanan's team. It was all very unprofessional, and could have been avoided if the Lettings Team reviewed their emails or communicated at all.
I do realise some of the issues highlighted pertain to the landlords decisions, however, as the one who was involved and facilitating it could have easily been avoided. Additionally after moving out we received phone calls stating that our flat has been rented out, not sold, and for a higher rental rate and they wanted to know how the utilities, tv antenna and bins work for the new tenants.... Again, something they should probably know.

I highly recommend signing up to register your interest with Chase Buchanan if you’re looking for a property to rent in the Richmond Borough. With the current housing market it’s been very difficult for us to view houses as we don’t live in London, so by having the open housing option it allowed us to book time off work to come down and not worry about a house going before we’ve had time to view it.
Gareth Vaughan has been very helpful, has answered all ours queries and has made securing a property a lot easier. Between 2018 and the end of 2020, my partner and I were tenants within a property that is managed by Chase Buchanan in St Margarets. We had a good relationship with them, they're all very professional, friendly people who are good at what they do.
In January of this year, we had a bit of a situation when we moved into a new flat under management of a different estate agents, and needed to move out and find a new place in a short space of time. We explained our situation to the people at Chase Buchanan, who then made an effort to get to know us and really went out of their way to help us to find a new place. We're now looking forward to moving into our new flat, and are pleased that we will be managed by Chase Buchanan again.
Overall, really great people, very reliable, very professional. Would recommend.

Sophie arranged the sale of our property and was instrumental in helping us secure a new property.
This is the 2nd house we have bought or sold via Sophie and I will def use again if we move.
Sophie was amazing in terms of pro activity and constantly keeping us updated. Her advice was a major factor in us being able to secure our new house and complete in a very short timeframe.
Sophie went over and beyond what we expected from an estate agent and took away much of the angst that would otherwise exist, including chasing down removal folk and generally solving any problem that seemed to crop up.

After sending the deposit to the landlord, who initially accepted our first offer, they rented the house to someone else. Later we lost a lot of time until Pippa found us another home. I've rented a property through Chase Buchanan, worked with Scott Messeder. It was a nice experience overall that I can suggest others to work with them.
Areas to improve:
- Making sure that the so called "pro cleaning of carpets" actually cleans the carpets. When we moved in, we vacuumed the property and emptied our dyson's bin 6 times.
- Making sure that no one enters the property with shoes on after the carpets are cleaned (including inventory clerks)
- Faster responses.
- Taking the the "success" sign on the street back after some period of time (not like a year later but in a few weeks)

This is the second time we’ve used Chase to buy/sell our property - on both occasions we’ve been handled with care and professionalism. There is no pressure to buy or sell, but a wealth of expertise and knowledge when you’re ready, with a real interest in your needs. Sophie managed what might seem impossible during a pandemic - successful negotiation to bring a chain of four properties to exchange within three months of us finding/making an offer. She was on hand with advice throughout the process, and fair and balanced throughout, even when completion dates got tricky due to complications elsewhere in the chain. Their recommended solicitors are also a cut above. We will be using again, I’m sure.

As first time buyers who had previous very poor experience with another estate agents (in which a property had fallen through) we felt very anxious entering the process again. The previous estate agency had treated us as numbers and were forceful, deceitful and anxiety inducing to work with.
Safe to say the experience through CB has been the opposite. From the outset Sophie’s direct, transparent, clear and efficient approach helped immediately ease our worry and has provided us with the much needed confidence in the process. We have felt trust in her and overall our understanding of the process has hugely increased.
Sophie has been able to assist with our queries when no one else has been able to including our own legal representatives etc. Very impressed and thankful for this experience and professionalism.

As many of us know buying ( and selling) a house can be pretty challenging to say the very least but luckily dealing with Chase took a lot of the stress out, despite being in a relatively long chain. Naj, in particular was exceptional from the first dealings with had with her. She was not only very professional but also very genuine, which cannot be said for all estate agents! She listened to our exact requirements and understood our situation with having 3 children and recently having a newborn and knew exactly what we were looking for and more importantly knew that we didn’t have endless time to be looking at properties that weren’t suitable and also showed us very new properties that hadn’t yet made it to rightmove but she had the keys for given us first view.
Once we had found a house, Naj was great at negotiating a price which fell within our budget. She also continually kept us informed of any developments with the family we were buying from but further up the chain. One last thing to mention was her readiness to reply to us even after office hours which significantly reduced our anxiety!
Thank you so much Naj in finding us and securing our next home so we could move in and be settled by Christmas. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you and your team.

CB were one of 3 estate agents engaged to sell my house and were successful in securing an excellent buyer .Their staff were always friendly and organised viewings and gave feedback in a timely manner .Post offer Sophie did a superb job in liaising with both parties to ensure things went smoothly and to take the stress out of the transaction..She was on hand to help with some practical issues near completion.She also bailed me out by finding a home for some good excess furniture which a charity declined to take at the 11th hour.
I have for many years also used CB as managing agents on a house I let in Hampton and have no complaints with the service offering through their rental unit.

That said, my experience this time around with Chase Buchanan (specifically the St Margaret's branch) was actually very painless! They were very communicative and friendly. In particular, Danielle Fogarty was extremely helpful. (The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the various branches are not joined up at all. I initially contacted Chase Buchanan via RightMove specifically about a flat in the St Margaret's area, and was IMMEDIATELY contacted by no less than 5 different Chase Buchanan offices in West London trying to get me interested in other properties that did not meet my criteria. I used chase when I bought my first property 10 years ago. When it came time to sell I admit I considered using the online estate agents, but in the end decided to go with chase due to their extensive local knowledge and my previous experience.
The selling process was very easy and our property sold in less than 2 weeks, the buying process however was a little less straight forward.
The support, pragmatic advice and approach chase took undoubtedly held our chain together and we are now enjoying our new home. I'd like to especially thank Sophie for all her help.

It’s rare and refreshing to find such an enthusiast sales team who deliver results whilst providing regular feedback throughout the sales process.
CB sold our property within two weeks of listing and above our asking price. Sophie in particular was extremely professional and driven. She was results focussed, working outside normal business hours when required in order to finalise the sale and achieve the best possible price. Hugely impressed and would definitely use Chase Buchanan again.

Its the day after I have moved into my new home, the whole process having taken just three months and I couldn't be happier with the amazing support and efficiency of the Chase Buchanan Team, Sophie in particular. A house I had always wanted came up for sale and in the space of 9 days (just pre Christmas) Sophie managed to sell my property and secure the property I wanted at prices that worked for everyone. I thought that was good..but it was the support in the following few weeks that I really appreciated when things, as they always do, got a little trickier along the chain. Sophie was incredibly responsive, supportive and handled everyone really well. I will miss popping in to the office for an update. I would definitely recommend.

I viewed a property with Chase Buchanan when looking to buy. I indicated on the viewing that I would be interested in the property at a particular level and was discouraged. two weeks later the price reduced to that exact figure and I was shocked that no one had called me to discuss my interest. Unfortunately, for their seller, I was a chain free buyer and in the interim had secured a property on an adjacent road with another agent.
UPDATE 15/12/2017 - following Chase Buchanan advising that this was a fake review I write to confirm I viewed a property on Godstone Road(I believe it was 71) with Seb from this office when I was looking to buy. The review I left is genuine and I no longer work for Dexters so have only left this review as a potential client rather than a competitor.

Terrible experience, boards up at flats where they are not selling properties! Surely this is not right? I called and asked to view and was told they have nothing for sale there, this happened on more than one occasion! The team are unprofessional, didnt call me back when I rang in and when i called back, no record of me could be found! I have now brought through an alternative agent.
This is not a "fake review" as Chase Buchanan have claimed!!

Avoid the Lettings Department. They are so desperate to steal business from other more reputable lettings agents that they identify new properties coming on the market, discover the name and address of the landlord through the Land Registry and then turn up at the landlord's private home to canvass for business. This is both a breach of the landlord's privacy and totally unethical practice in trying to steal business from another ARLA registered agent. They follow this up with letters without bothering to check if the addressee is registered with the Mail Preference Service not to receive junk mail. Prospective tenants and landlords should look elsewhere.

These dreadful agents, didn't show up for arranged viewings, then I lost a property on the day of exchange to another Chase Bucanon client who was being looked after by another negotiator in the same office. Should be struck off!! Didn't even call to say sorry! Rude and incompetent at best. Avoid
