I bought my house 10 months ago through CJ hole, all the process was smooth and clean. But the house they sold to me is not that good as they said. Their description about the house was quite interested, posted old pics in the add. After living in the house I started to notice the problems, this house is just decorated for selling. Paints starting peel off, cracks, bad roof etc.. I am not done a proper survey on this house. I just believed the agent. Agent is not for the buyer, they are for the seller..

From the initial informative visit by David, to the contact after our house was sold and we had moved to Brixham, we cannot fault this business.

Professional right through the process. They offered friendly advice and within a short time we had a great deal of interest and an offer. Their help didn’t stop there and the sales progression team kept the process moving and were actively involved right until the end. We had lived in our home for 20 years and we would say the other agents reflected what you got then. CJ Hole Downend have moved with the times. They don’t make promises like they can get more for your house than others, blame you for not getting viewings, etc. They gave honest advice and we must say it was like having somebody on your side looking after you. I have been contracting as a Locksmith for CJ Hole for the last 2 years and have always found them to be fast, reliable and up front with any issues that they have needed me for.

At the Viewing, Alex never rushed us round, he gave us around half an hour to look around, was prepared with all the answers to questions before we even asked them. I have never experienced this with an agent before, it was a pleasant change. We had an awkward time selling our house, but people like Dianne and Lucy worked so hard to find out what was going on, and keep us updated (even though we should have found out these things from other people!). Incredibly helpful throughout the process. From the beginning, in being available for viewings at relative short notice and having the time to allow a more thorough inspection, to then getting back to me with answers to my follow-up questions (thank you, David). Staff never seemed put out. Andy in particular was the star of the process, going beyond what you might reasonably expect an estate agent to do (certainly more helpful than my solicitor!) to ensure the process ran as smoothly as it could do. Avoid 3 High Street. Bad landlord will take your deposit.
Never let a property from CJ Hole they will charge you £260 per person for next to no services. They will take your money and give no helpful service in return. We thought they would help by giving a check inventory and check out inventory but neither was completed, so the landlord was in complete control of both. Obviously giving a biased opinion. I don't understand what we have paid for, as there was 6 of us and they charged us £260 per person for agency fees yet all they did was draw up an agreement for the landlord, which obviously is just a generic contract not written specifically for the house, as a lot of things within the contract did not even apply to the house.
They also forced me to pay my full years rent upfront a total of £3840!!! As I am a student I'm sure you can imagine how hard it was for me to gather that money. They forced me to pay this upfront because my mother did not earn above £12,000 a year and therefore was not eligible to be my guarantor. We offered half the rent upfront at first but they declined that and said we can pay the full amount or you can go elsewhere. All of this after we had paid the NON REFUNDABLE £260 agency fees.
Overall, absolutely terrible agency to let with if you are a tenant. I'm sure there are much better options out there. They do not want to help you at all throughout your tenancy and only want the initial fees, after that your on your own.
I am currently renting from a landlord without any agency involvement and my life is so much easier. All bills are covered including cleaning equipment, toilet roll, furniture and a TV. They are also paying me to help with the garden. Never going through an agency again.
If you can avoid this agency at all costs at least.
