Had such a lovey experience dealing with Anil, Amy and Tracey whilst letting my property out. Amy pointed me in the right direction with regards to market rent. Anil was always quick to respond to any questions I had, and always kept communication flowing at every step, and Tracey was never too busy to answer any questions whilst managing a busy high street branch. Having dealt with another agency on the same street, I would highly recommend Connells all the way.

A Dreadfully Disappointing and VERY Expensive Service
It started off so well with the valuer, giving an excellent service and promising all sorts of things that didn't come to fruition.
?The overall experience with Connells Estate Agents in Leicester was nothing short of deeply disappointing, characterized by a staggering lack of basic courtesy.
The service provided was VERY expensive, especially considering the near-total collapse in communication throughout our process.
?We were consistently failed to be kept informed of the process or progress of our sale/purchase, leaving us perpetually stressed and unsure of where things stood. At one point I actually went into store and again, no response from that, after I was promised a phone call the next day.
?Furthermore, we found the team was routinely failing to answer emails. Simple queries would go without a response, forcing us to chase crucial updates repeatedly by phone. This passive and unresponsive approach meant we had to manage their role for them. We are very disappointed with the entire experience and strongly advise potential clients to look elsewhere for an agent who values proactive engagement and transparency. The high cost of their service was simply not justified by the abysmal support we received.

Came to value my 4 bed detached house within a few days of asking. House wasn’t ready but no concerns. Had my house sold within 2 weeks of first meeting with Elish. Not only sold but sold £25k over asking. I was worried about Connells as they are expensive on commission but they didn’t disappoint. Spoke to Heenay a few times over the phone, great sales man so had confidence he’d be able to get the best offer for my house. No regrets. After sales has also been fantastic with Jaidan, regular updates etc. Top service.

I have had the worst experience with these guys in Connell at Leicester. Very un professional staff, when you call they do not answer, when they answer they promise some one will call you back but no one does. This has been their attitude. Especially Ellis who had promised lofetly when it come to selling my property but when they had 3 months time they could not even get clients to come and view the property. For me i know it is all a sham, of hollow promises. All they did was having free advertising at my expense. Disappointed for having to deal with them.

Shocking experience from start to finish. We have recently sold a property with this shambolic agency. One viewings agent broke doors in our property and then lied about it. Another was shockingly rude. And they refused to give any updates on how the sale was progressing after a sale was agreed because we chose to use our own solicitor rather than theirs. Despite being their clients and paying their fees, we were told it was not their job to give any updates and we’d have to ask our solicitor.
Unhelpful, deceitful, unprofessional and rude.
I have never had such bad service.

I would not use connells ever again after buying 3 properties in the past going back from 2009 till 2012.
Things are not the same anymore I took out a lifetime plan for mortgage adxmvice for £495 and a few years later I got fiber off about it.
What a total rip off.
Then just recently I used them to sell one of the houses I bought in the past and had a terrible experience.
I've learnt my lesson buy selling it privately then asked them to remove it from there website as I was not in contract.
I wasn't removed even after 3 weeks of being told it will come off in days.
My private buyer was getting worried and was ready to pull out due to this silly behavior.
Friendly staff but just don't listen to there sellers.????????????????????????

Decided to downsize from a 4 bedroom after the loss of my Mum as I dont need a large house on my own.
Saw part buy part rent houses being promoted by Connells which took my interest so decided to sell with Connells.
After initial phone call was made, we were given a mutually convenient date and time for their sales rep Elish to come and talk to us with a view to selling.
All went well with Elish, amazing young man with a great personality, no hard sell. Gave us a suitable sale value and options on how to sell.
Sadly, Connells themselves were not very good as after numerous calls to arrange viewing of the new houses, were told 2 weeks later they were already sold ages ago.
Having reconsidered my options, have decided to take my house off the market.
If my situation changes, I will contact Elish directly and deal with him.

Very bad experience with Connells. First, I turned up at the viewing and no-one was there (was told by a very rude girl that I must have got it wrong as nothing in the diary). I was told someone would call back me to rearrange - 10 days later and no call back. I then call them to re-arrange and turn up at the time agreed. I wait 15 mins and then a man turns up saying he is the landlord and he will be showing me around. Ok, I think, that's fine. I view the house and go home. The next day I get a call from the same rude girl saying, 'Why didn't you turn up at the appointment?' in an angry tone. I explain to her that I was there and viewed the house with the landlord. 'No, you weren't - I was there and no-one turned up - you must have been at the wrong house.' When I explain calmly that it would be a huge coincidence for me to turn up at the wrong house, but for the house to have a Connells board outside and look exactly the same as the pictures on Rightmove, and for someone to turn up to show me around, she still doesn't accept it saying, 'You weren't there - I even called the office to check I was at the right address and I was'. Honestly, such a shocking way to treat potential buyers. If Connell's were selling my house I would not be happy.

TLDR : Find a different mortgage advisor
I am a customer of Connells Leicester and have paid the £700 fee for lifetime representation as I was told there is no other choice if I want to work with them. With it being a big company and me not having absolutely any knowledge at the time regarding this process I went ahead.
I feel like we had no support from our Connells mortgage advisor throughout the process and as first time buyers that don't know much of anything regarding a mortgage this is pretty bad and makes the whole process harder.
I feel like all Connells did for me was obtain the rate and apply with the lender. No other support or information or help throughout the process.
When we finally found a house and decided to apply we asked our Connells mortgage advisor to help us negociate as we relied on his experience.
The house was being sold with Connells Hinckley.
We made an offer through our Connells mortgage advisor which was immediately rejected in about 1-2 hours max.
We then made another slightly higher offer and had no further reply for 5 days when we chased our mortgage advisor for an update.
Shortly after we had a call from Connells Hinckley with a higher offer which we accepted as we wanted the house and they said they can't go any lower.
The whole process felt strange and like a conflict of interest.
Even though I had no proof I remember having the feeling that my own mortgage advisor negociated against me in order to possibly obtain a bigger comission for Connells.
We went further as we really wanted the house
The next step was the solicitor PPL. Our mortgage advisor arranged this and said he would help throughout the process with communicating with the solicitor if needed and that he could also answer any questions we might have.
Each and every question we asked our Connells mortgage advisor was met with a "you'll need to ask the solicitors" answer which wasn't helpful at all and seemed he wasn't even making an effort.
When we had issues with PPL not answering us we asked our mortgage advisor for help however he didn't help at all.
About 4 months into the process we spoke with a friend that was also buying a house.
He told us that his mortgage advisor is reviewing rates every 3-4 weeks and so far had managed to reduce his rate twice in the 3 months since he had started.
We asked our mortgage advisor to do this as well and he did however the issue here is we didn't even know this was an option as he never bothered to explain. Needless to say he wasn't proactive with this at all and had to be chased up.
After 4 months and a week of constantly chasing PPL (the solicitors that Connells recommended) they finally gave a definitive answer that there are issues with the property and I would have issues reselling and obtaining a remortgage if I went ahead. Only took them 4 months and a week to find out this information.
In conclusion beware of Connells, I feel like I spent £700 to be treated like a nuisance.
I have asked them for my money back but won't hold my breath.

2nd time round I've had terrible service from Connells - 1st was 4 years ago when they failed to sell my property even though we had 15 viewings, I gave it to another agent and it was sold within 2 weeks for a price we were happy with.
2nd time - 2 weeks ago a board went up in an area I was searching but nothing was yet online so getting all excited I called for more info, they took all my details and said they will call me when viewings would start, still heard nothing, so I called again finally they answered after 5 calls during the afternoon and found they've already had the viewings now I wouldn't deal with them ever again for buying or selling ,If i were the vendor I wouldn't be happy with their service and still they haven't learnt how to provide a good service yet charge above and beyond many others - sellers and potential sellers be warned

Not a great experience. Called in an attempt to book a viewing, line cut out and called back twice to no answer. Called again the following day was told they would let me know on availability, still waiting. Had a phone call today from them and was talking to one of them and they put phone down on me blatantly as could hear voices in background. Probably talking about how there weekend was which was more important to them rather than us the customers. So poor and so unproffesional.

Where to start????? Rang to book a viewing of a house which they offered for me the same afternoon. I was 2 mins away from the property and had a call from them cancelling. Despite being told they were there for a block booking and I was the last of that block, the guy rang and said he wasn't there. Taking it at face value o agreed to go again at the same time the following day. Turned up at the property and there was no agent there so I called the office. I was greeted with a lie that they had tried to call me to cancel again which wasn't true. After a heated discussion with the agent he agreed to come to the property 40mins later than agreed. Imagine the shock when he gets out the car and looks like he had been dragged through a hedge backwards. Viewing seemed rushed and within 2mins of being in the door he was asking if we wanted to make an offer. After saying no we continued to view the rest of the house. The next morning surprise surprise his phone worked as he called me pretty much as soon as they opened to see if we wanted to make an offer. Not the level of service I'd expect for a company like this. Maybe this guy needs retraining or a new career path as he seemed way out of his depth and just wanted an agreement there and then......even before we had seen the whole property

I rang to view an empty property up for sale that is up for new auction. They took all my details name and property etc. They only offered me a viewing of the property I wanted to view 4pm onwards as they had got other viewing at the time. I've asked for day time viewing so we could see external roof, brickwork and guttering etc. A week has gone passed no call for a viewing but to come and value my property.

Absolute joke and garbage. On Saturday I called them that I wanted to see a house for rent. I was told someone would call back. Since no one called back I sent them a message from their website. Of course, no response. So I called on Monday and after pre-registration, I was scheduled for Tuesday. The address was to be given to me on Tuesday morning. Of course no one called so I did. This time I found out that the viewing is not on Tuesday but on Wednesday. The landlord gave them access to the house from 5pm. When I asked how is it possible that I have an appointment at 4:40pm when they have access from 5pm, the lady couldn't answer. I was told they would call me back. Called back Wednesday morning the viewing is at 5pm. Thursday they called saying the landlord had accepted us but someone was offering £25 more for the rental and would we agree to a higher price. We disagreed. On Friday they called that the owner had decided to take ours and they wanted us to pay a deposit. Since we were both at work, I arranged for them to call on Monday morning. Surprise surprise - they didn't call. So I called only to hear that it is no longer valid because someone else paid the deposit. Avoid this company like the plague

Terrible customer service, zero communication,& zero motivation to sell your house. If your house is not selling you will discover, they have zero strategy or alternative ideas to find a sale. They Will happily just leave your house on the market & do nothing & just hope it sells. Everything from feedback, changing pictures or updating your listing takes 2-3 weeks & even then you will need to call several times to push them to complete the update.They tell you they will manage your viewings however this is false as they expect you to do your own viewings which is not what i signed up for. Far from a premium service promised at nearly 4k.

Negative experience from start to finish. Worked with Toni Dempsy who never called back or replied to emails after my deposit was placed, and because of her lack of communication I was left homeless for a week due to an incorrect move in date being provided. A full furnished property was downgraded to partly furnished and the move in date was delayed (zero contact until after I was supposed to move in). I spoke multiple times to her colleagues and manager explaining the situation, everyone was extremely apologetic saying this was not normal behaviour but no changes were made until 2/3 days until the reassessed move in (after I sent an email suggesting I might be able to do that new date) where she became far more cooperative, calling instantly. I tried to be patient throughout and gave the whole company more than enough of an opportunity to change my view. After moving in in she replied to her emails with about a months delay apparently after being “on holiday”. I hope that this review can help the company develop their customers experiences in future as they are dealing with peoples living situations and so should be ethical at least on a basic level. I hadn’t planned to leave a bad review but I have now received a parking ticket for parking in the space supposedly registered to the flat which was the final straw. Which I have also emailed about.

Me and my friend were looking to rent through this company. However, we were told that we would not be able to put in applications at all with this company due his adverse credir. Despite having never missed a payment, being on a management plan that ensures his repayments never encroach on his ability to pay rent/bills, having all relevent documentation to suppory this, while also being in full time work, and having a garuntor jsut in cae, fhis still wasn't good enough to the poont they blocked us from even applying to any properties in a cost of living crissis in which we face eviction. Disgusting behaviour and descrimination.

I was told I can only book viewing after I agree to sign mortgage with them even tho I made it clear I have mortgage in place already. The mortgage fee were £700 just to sign it!! + other bank fees which are usually £1000 added to the mortgage. I never had a chance to view a single house through them!! Rude service too

I was a landlord of Connells for 5 years, had a bad experience where tenant stopped paying rent (not there fault of course) and almost 9 months later when we got the locks changed on 4th March and new keys delivered to Connells at the branch (so they had access any time), I asked for both a sales and lettings valuation. The lettings valuation was not received till 11th April!!!!! After 9 months of not paying rent and chasing this was the service. I am five hours away and trusted them with my property. The sales valuation just never came despite numerous chases. I made one last chase and they gave me a valuation on the phone, having never even been to the property despite chasing weekly. I asked there fee and they were more expensive than other agents I had spoken to in the area, tried to tell me it is about the service we provide HAHAHAHA! I explained I'm chasing you more than 5 weeks after the locks are changed for a valuation and you've had the keys sitting there, the lady gave me a high valuation, which was unrealistic given three other agents gave me lower valuations, obviously going to try and get me to sign a contract for a length of time like 8-12 weeks and then tell me to drop the price. We all want the best price for selling our property but have to be realistic, but nice try over valuing my property that you hadn't been to, despite having the keys for over a month and then telling me the higher estate agent fees were due to level of service!

I viewed a property last week and I wanted to rent it and the lady called me asking me to increase the rent by 75 pounds. I said no, she told me she ll call me back she never did call. I ve left her many emails and i called the office many times but nobody answered. I no saw on the website that the property i was going to rent is listed as let agreed. Nobody called me to inform me that and that makes me start searching a new property having lost 2 weeks.

I actually had to give 1 start but they don’t even deserve that!! I rented a property with Connells and I have never been dealt with just one person. They discriminate against anyone they want too. Everyone I speak to is different and very rude. No one is helpful. They ignore my calls and my emails. They have completely sided with a bully of a landlord who has been given my personal info from Connells. Please do not rent with these people as they have no want to help anyone but to line their own pockets. Never recommend, they need to sort their business out and their staff because all are liars and very bad mannered. Worst £6000 I’ve ever spent.

Absolutely the worst experience ever. If you want your dreams crushed by cowboy estate agents- Come to connells. Went to a viewing and put on offer. Called often but they rarely ever picked up their phone lines. Dont bother calling around lunch since they all seem to leave at the same time. spent over 30 minutes calling daily and spending emails with minimal responses. Set conditions on their house stating I had to use their mortgage advisor and solicitor but was not informed till they accepted my offer. Charged me £2600 for their services despite me finding it for cheaper. Ravi sharma the mortage advisor is just in for a commission and seems like hannah parker the manager is also the same. Attitude stinks and lied to me about several things. Wouldnt pass over the seller my information despite having everything ready. Went to second viewing with my family and later in the day get a call saying do i want to put in an offer. When i explained it had already been accepted, got 3 different calls: 1) sorry hes new 2) no offer on system 3) ravi will call you monday. Spent 3 weeks messing me about after they accepted my offer. When i complained about what they were doing to their complaints team and explained my house is on the line so please can we keep it confidential. They said their area manger daniel ansell. He didnt return my call. The next day the Hannah the manager calls to ask why i complained and told me the seller is only comfortable with the buyer using connells services as they wanted it closed by the end of the year- even though my solicitors provided the same reassurances in writing. After chasing Daniel he finally calls back, agrees to send an email to the seller i had wrote. I get a call from hannah two hours later saying the buyer will be going with someone else- she sounded so smug. Daniel then emails me 15 minutes later saying he sent the email and then again 2 minutes later saying she went with someone else. I cant believe the lack of integrity and professionalism I have witnessed. I grafted all through the pandemic as a nurse to save my deposit and within moments they took everything away. Even if the house is great, they will leave such a bad taste in your mouth and start your new house journey with negativity and sorrow.

Very professional service. Early days yet as I have only just started the sale process. Nevertheless, everything is being done to clockwork precision - a bit too fast for my peace of mind because I am so busy and no time to answer calls and emails etc. However, they have assured me that if a sale does not go through no money will be taken except the land registry fee which I think is very reasonable. Had a really positive experience with Connells, particularly with Toni who handled my rental process! She was always quick to answer my many questions and to find solutions to any bumps in the rental application! The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is because I occassionally felt I could have been told in advance about stages that needed to be completed (particularly guarantor stages). Of course applying for a property is never simple, but I do think maybe a checklist or list of things to complete would make it easier to finish all the steps with ample time. That being said, I'd still recommend them!

Terrible service from start to finish, little to no communication, incorrect information and very bad service. i am very surprised of the poor experience i had, i thought there was more to the service then finding a buyer to your house. It seems like once that was done we were forgot about. Luckily the manager i was dealing with was (relocated) and Nicola took over and has been great so far. I have been requesting this agency to provide me with a copy of my contract with them for over five times and they would reply when I call, take my details and promise to send the copy but then I receive nothing. I kept waiting for days. They took a lot of fees when we signed the contract so they can provide such services but these were all lies. They not only refused to do my references as promised, but also failed to send me a digital copy of my contract which only takes a click of a button. I definitely do not recommend this agency to anyone.

Useless service Not to be trusted they just waste people’s time.
Booked for market appraisal for my property over week ago and they still couldn’t keep on time, over 45 minutes late and still asking for further 15 minutes, what a joke!!!! Not even a courtesy phone to say we will be late until I had to chase them up.
knowing that I don’t leave locally, made me travel 50 miles return journey for nothing.
Very unprofessional and
unreliable, if they can’t keep their time on valuation God forbid what would happen to potential purchaser.

Great if you love not being communicated with efficiently. Booked in for a house viewing only to be TEXT by the viewing staff less than an hour before the viewing, when we had already left our home to make our way over, saying the property was no longer available. No phone call or proper apology for wasting our time and they attempted to backtrack saying they told me someone else was viewing the day before and they had made an offer - none of which I was actually told. Apparently the offer was made at 5pm - this does happen, but you could have the courtesy to phone us the evening before and not send a text in the early morning we put aside to view the house. Gutting as we thought they were promising, however feel this disgusting and disinterested service is exactly what we would have been dealing with had we rented from them. Will be avoiding!

I feel Emma was very understanding for my needs and she was extremly cooperative. She was very friendly at the viewings and gave me a choice of properties that would suit me and my family. She listened to everything I required and she went above and beyond to find the perfect house for us. I have dealt with other estate agents before but felt that they were very pushy and just wanted a sale from me, But Emma didn’t make me feel like that, she made me feel like she really wanted to help me and didn’t make me feel like I was forced to take anything. Me and my family moved in within 5 days of accepting the house and are very happy. I would recommend connells and Emma to anyone looking for a house to rent.

Although their fees were higher than other estate agents I was considering they had more experience at selling properties in the LE5 area.My contact at Connells was Jake Shenton who was professional, friendly and willing to help with any queries I had. The cynic in me said of course he was these things as he wanted my business. However the house sold in little over a week at the asking price so it is hard to argue with that. As they say actions speak louder than words.

We were pointed in Connells direction as first time buyers who had no idea where to start when purchasing a property, which is where we met Ravi. He has been absolutely fantastic in helping us every step of the way! To start he worked really hard to get us a mortgage in principle quickly which was a worry of ours as my partner is self employed. Once this was sorted he helped us sort out life and home insurance, evening going out of his way to use his day off to ensure this was done. I have privately rented for ten years several different properties with different letting agents and this is the first letting agent I have been with who made the process of letting a house extremely easy for me. Most of the documents were done online, I only had to visit the office once and that was to collect the keys to the property. The admin. Charges etc were very reasonable. I have been using this branch for a good few years but took a break on my last mortgage purely due to buying new build and going with the builder's company for ease. Once the mortgage needed renewing I returned to Connnells by which time the adviser had changed. However the service had not and Ravi was excellent especially considering I had left it to the last min to get sorted. Stayed in touch through the process, will happily be back in a few years.
