I am disappointed with the level of service I received from Connells in Oadby during the sale of my property.
As the seller, I expected my instructions and interests to be appropriately represented throughout the process. However, it appeared at several points that greater emphasis was placed on accommodating the buyer, rather than acting in accordance with my position as the client.
This was particularly evident on the day of completion, when I did not receive any communication — by phone or email — to confirm that completion had taken place. Given the significance of this milestone, I found the lack of contact both surprising and unacceptable.
Overall, the experience fell short of the professional standard I expected, and I feel let down by the handling of the sale.

Shocking from day one!! Pretend to be working for you from day one but their only interest is getting the best and above for the landlord! Guarantor failed the credit check, no they didn’t! They weren’t prepared to hand over accounting information when the letting agency reference company weren’t capable of even understanding a bank statement!….
Upon rejection of the guarantor a 6 month deposit of £8,500 was requested and agreed by the guarantor. The letting agent then came back and said that the landlord wanted 12 months up front, £17,000!
Although this was affordable it couldn’t be justified.
Decided not to proceed and now being told that the fee of £300+ paid up front isn’t refundable although Connell’s can’t satisfy their part of the contract.
An application to the small claims court for the refund has been submitted.
Avoid Connell’s, Oadby branch at all costs.

Terrible experience with lettings, both with Reeco and Sara. Viewed a property for letting on Tuesday. Filled out application for but had a few questions regarding it which were proposed to them via the phone on Wednesday. Reeco said he would phone the landlord and call back. He did not. Importantly I was told that the landlord was not going to make a decision on any rental until there had been a sales viewing on Saturday. Spoke to Sara Friday PM who stated she was at the property Saturday to see the landlord so would ask him the few questions and call me back around 1.30. Needless to say no phone call. I have phoned today to be told that they conducted a rental viewing on Saturday, took a holding deposit and it is now no longer available. They didn't even have the courtesy to phone to say this. My call today was passed to Jack, the branch manager, who was merely defensive and took no accountability for their poor communication, trying to assign blame to me for not having put an offer forwards at the outset. Get your act together, I was told the landlord would not make a decision until Monday as to whether he was renting it. I also don't see how it was all sorted i.e. references, credit checks etc in such a short space of time when they told me it takes two week and the branch closed early afternoon Saturday. Someone is not being entirely honest. The property is still listed as available with both them and another agent.

I am sorry to express my frustrating experience with Connels .After viewing the property i got a mail to place the holding deposit and all necessary documents done.Just 3 days to the end of tenancy and move into the property I later i got a mail the landlord has rejected my application and decided not to rent the house to me.The confirmation with landlord, they could have do before recieving the holding deposit making me have all hopes on them as we are providing all the information before viewing itself.I have rejected another offer since I placed the holding deposit.This is frustrating

How they stay in business is an enigma. The staff are unhelpful and become defensive if you point this out. Worse than Purplebricks. Gave 1 star because I had too.

Absolutely disgusted with how they handle deposit returns. Unsure why it’s taken 2 weeks (10 working days) to confirm it will be another 5 days (probably working days) until the deposit is returned to me. Way out of a reasonable timeframe when you get told it was sent off for processing on day 1.
When starting out they are absolutely amazing… whilst you are giving them money but once you are leaving they are a nightmare and it’s always accounts fault and they never want to just apologise and take ownership
Daniel Parkes is excluded from this as he went truly above and beyond so thank you Daniel
Couldn’t go any higher than 1* as the one thing you don’t do in this world is mess with peoples money

Bad experience with Oadby branch. Agent did not show up on scheduled appointment waited for 20 minutes and called office saying he can not come as he is unwell. Dont have courtesy to call customer. Note : They will not help you if you have Aip with other company. Strange but true, horrible experience with Oadby branch!

Do not use connells. The staff are useless. Been emailing for the past 8 months not receiving a response. Been into the office, staff on their phone, asked a colleague to ask relevant staff to give me a call back who can deal with my queries, yet to recieve a callback.
Connells is mismanaged. Would recommend either Knightsbridge, Northwood, Kal Sangra or Spencers. Staff are more professional and actually liase as and when needed. Deal with all the other agents listed above for many years and have never faced such issues.

Extremely uncivilised agency on the verge of being illegal. The house in which one of the doors was left unlocked has been rented to me. Two months later, there are no keys for the lock. Many promises have been made to call back, but no action has been taken.

Connells are great! Fantastic client care. Especially Jack and Chloe. We went with connells despite getting valuations from purple bricks, knightsbridge, W.H brown and Newton fallowell. Even though some estate agents were cheaper in terms of their fees, there was something about Jack, his enthusiasm and kindness that drew us to him and when we met Chloe she was very attentive and transparent and we negotiated a fee which was fair. We needed a quick sale because we were in a race for a property we wanted so our property went live online on 16th February 2023 and after 2 days of viewings on 17th and 18th, we got 5 offers by the 20th and by 22nd Feb we agreed an offer. Within 6 days we sold our house. My husband and I did our own viewings because we wanted to get people in ASAP and we knew the house as we renovated it and we were very passionate however we know if Jack or his team showed potential buyers around they would have been as enthusiastic as us, no doubt! Let's hope everything now goes smoothly and I know connells aftercare will be amazing.

Giving the benefit of doubt as experienced inadequate estimations before. I received an email 2 weeks later to advise valuation has been reviewed and is now on par with competitors.
I have to add that the branch emailed me today. 2 weeks after evaluation and my initial review after giving them a chance to email me after 2 weeks, which is when I placed my review.
In addition honouring the request to update my review.
Telephone manners great and F2F rapport great but follow up service poor, if someone is away from the branch, anyone from the team, including manager could have contacted me. So clearly collaboration seems to be the root cause of failure to my service expectations

absolutely useless. We handed our nottice in writting, no one acknowledged it and whenever we called no one answered the phone. we had to literaly show up in branch to hand the keys back and they were extremely prompt in charging us extra for the couple of days we could not hand back as we could not get hold of anyone. 2 months after handing back we have still not had our deposit back and we are being chased for rent in arrears saying that needs to be dealth with as a matter of urgency before they take us to court. absolutely useless and ridiculous. Make sure you avoid them at any cost !

After a year of stress and awaiting a move, we finally moved house.
All of connells staff were great and very pleasant but Chloe was head and shoulders above everybody we dealt with.
We were one of her first customers and she could not do enough to help us, even if it was not her job to chase up.
Chloe even offered to get wet in the walk in shower to check it worked for us.
Chloe is now the manager at the Oadby branch and has earnt this promotion as far as we are concerned.
She is a definite asset to connells and we wish her all the best in her new role????

You have to have a lot of patience to deal with this business. This would have been 1* if it wasn’t for Chloe. There is zero professionalism with the Oadby branch. Nobody gets back to you, nobody chases anything or keeps true to their word.
In comes Chloe and starts moving things in the right direction. She goes on leave or whatever and I wait on “Charlie” to get in touch. 3 days and counting.
I had my reservations dealing with you guys and they weren’t misplaced.

Terrible service, very bad communication and unprofessional.
If the tenants are having an issue, they don’t bother getting back or resolving issue. You have to chase them up but you don’t get anywhere. They will keep telling you that we will need to contact landlord and then will get back but they just leave you hanging.
If the landlord want to do something or talk about something, then all of a sudden they are responding, calling, emailing and chasing you.

Absolutely appaling services and management. The Landlords matters are chased up and the tenants issue have to be followed up by the tenant and it takes them literally weeks before I get a response. Incompetence at its peak!
Just as a side note, Landlords treating tenants like animals will only come to bite them back in their bum sooner or later.

Amazing Service
I am the seller of a property and my Purchaser has been selling their property through Connells in Oadby, Leicester.
There was a problem with the Purchaser's conveyancers, and on the Purchaser's suggestion, I was put in contact with Remi, the Branch Manager.
Remi has been fantastic, and with a great deal of focus, she went about resolving the problem, communicating with the conveyancers, my agent, the Purchaser and me.
I am delighted we have now exchanged, and we are planned to complete on Friday, meaning my Purchaser and her Purchasers will be in their new homes for Christmas.
Remi is a credit to her Profession, she even came in and spent the time to progress whilst she was on Leave, and for that we shall all be eternally grateful.
If you really do want to five yourself a smooth transaction, Connells won't disappoint, have faith in Remi, Branch Manager of these Super Agents !

Excellent service in terms of marketing the house but really poor service from the sales progression side of things. Rarely returned my calls and I have had to rely on our seller's estate agent for information and updates as Connells have not kept us in the loop at all..I would definitely not recommend to others.

We knew from the minute that Jayne walked through our door that she was the person we wanted to represent us. She was professional, competent, clear and concise when explaining the process to sell our property. The office team made all arrangements from marketing the property to ensuring the vetting process for potential buyers were rigidly met with covid measures in place each time. Great start with Connnels but once they had us it was terrible. Gave them the benefit of the doubt as we were in the covid19 situation but there was lots of times where they didn't communicate which left us frustrated. In 26 weeks we had 14 viewings 2 no shows and 2 clearly not vetted. Poor feedback so we didn't get to know if there was anything we could do to make a difference.

A very dishonest estate agent. I rented a property of them in 2019, my contract was due to begin on the 1st of June. I got a call from an agent of their asking me (pushing me) to start the contract on the 29th May instead, I accepted as I didn't think much of it. Fast forward three month and I find out the government introduced the legislation removing the agent's fees on the 1st of June 2019 which would have exempted me but I literally got tricked to sign earlier so that I would pay the £450. I do not recommend them one bit.

Before I start please be careful guys Connells will entice you with a high property evaluation to get you in, especially If you use them first to sell your property,it can have detrimental consequences as this first month being on sale is the golden month to sell if the price is too high you will miss out and like us be with a 2nd or 3rd agency still haven't sold the property after 6 months, believe me it does not look good on the market. So here is what happened........It was a shame really. We had high expectations for Oadby Connells, as we have a house on rent with them. However, their attention didn't seem to be completely dedicated to selling our other property. Months went by with no phone calls or updates, regarding any interest, and the only way we got any response was if we called first. I know they are short staffed however, this is no excuse for not keeping in touch. Positive is that they are friendly and kind. Unfortunately, even after giving in our notice to end the contract, Connells did not make any extra effort in terms of getting more viewings, received no phone calls either! Gets worse, we have a viewing in 28 day cancellation period with Connells and none of the estate agents even turned up, both the viewers and ourselves were told to expect one of the team. Very very poor service, and from hearing other stories, I guess we are not the only ones.

My Partner and I are 1st time buyers, we had spoke to many Mortgage Advisors, but none of them offered us the support and guidance that Harry did, from the get go Harry went over and above to guide us, advise us and help us.
Harry is very professional but also he doesn’t bombard you with words and phrases you can’t understand! For us, with being 1st time buyers we were like rabbits in headlights but we had upmost confidence in Harry helping us, he is really genuine.
We had some difficulty due to credit scores etc, but Harry took the time to help us find a Mortgage, successful I will add!
