From the very first moment Lynsey came to value our property, we felt completely confident and reassured that we were in the best possible hands. She did absolutely everything she said she would do and more. Lynsey achieved an incredible price for our home, far exceeding our expectations, and even now I still can’t quite believe she and Jamie managed to secure the exact figure we were hoping for.
Both Lynsey and Jamie were beyond proactive throughout the entire process. Their communication, dedication, and determination never wavered, and it truly felt like they cared about our sale as much as we did. Unfortunately, the journey wasn’t plain sailing when our chain unexpectedly collapsed, which was incredibly stressful. However, once again, Lynsey and Jamie stepped up without hesitation, worked tirelessly behind the scenes, and achieved yet another fantastic price for our property.

Connells made lots of promises about communication especially post a viewing but this never really happened. They promised to be different and increase potential buyers and viewers. Again this did not reflect in reality. Appreciate market has been difficult but some houses have sold. Feedback was everybody liked the house but never progressed.

We recently sold our house in Paignton, Devon, through the local Connells branch. Although we suffered two chain collapses, the Connells team worked tirelessly and always found a new buyer within a week or two. Jamie - the branch manager - kept us well informed of progress whilst Lyndsey gave us good advice on sensible pricing in a challenging market. Jess conducted most of our viewings and was outstanding in her ability to engage with potential buyers and answer their questions knowledgeably. A job well done by a team that seemed to genuinely care about getting a good result.

They reduced the price of my property by £20,000 when I had specifically said I didn't want this without further conversations. Luckily I put in writing buy they ignored this, and reduced it regardless and they didn't even tell me they had done it. A friend told mr. I fired them immediately and employed another agent but I could not increase the price as it had been advertised at the lower price so they have cost me a lot of moneu. I would never use them again.

I first met Lynsey from Connells back in March when she came to do a valuation on my property. She came bounding in, full of excitement and enthusiasm. After meeting with other estate agents, I decided to go with Connells because of their enthusiasm and the quality of their listing. Within 5 days of the listing going live I had 2 offers, the second of which I accepted, from a wonderful family who I know will bring lots of love and memories to the house. Everyone at Connells were very understanding of my request for the perfect buyer, and they found them.
Jamie dealt with the business side of things and he was great. He listened to me rant and rave at times, and chased the other buyers estate agents and solicitors to get the answers
I am delighted to say we exchanged contracts today after a stressful few weeks, but we got there.
I would recommend Connells to anyone, but offer only one word of warning......if Lynsey comes to do your valuation, set aside plenty of time, because she loves to talk!!!????????????

Sitting here, enjoying the peace of our new lounge, looking out on to our lovely new garden, we can’t praise highly enough the team at Connells, Paignton. They were a pleasure to work with - friendly and professional. We’d originally marketed our property with a different agent but without success. Within a few weeks of switching to Connells we had on offer and things got underway. We were particularly impressed by the great communication from the team. Every step of the process they were with us to advise - and sometimes calm our nerves! Even in those times when nothing much seemed to happening we received weekly check-ins to make sure we’re ok with everything. Our experience of dealing with Connells was dreadful. Our Landlords decided to sell and initially we were told we would not be pressured to move. Within days we were contacted by 'Jamie' who showed zero empathy or tact and was pressuring us into agreeing to viewings & photos. We politely declined stating our privacy reasons and within days Connells had obviously complained to our Landlords and we were served a section 21. We continued in this time to receive text messages trying to arrange photos....even after we moved! A Connells employee came to do a valuation on the property and suggested that maybe we would be better off being made homeless!
All the staff need to be retrained in how to treat people properly rather than being driven by targets and greed. Connells have a letting department too, there's no way I would want to be a Tenant managed by them if this is an example of how they treat people.

We used Connells for the sale of a second property.
Due to various reasons, it did take quite a while.
Despite this, Connells made the experience the best it could be.
They were transparent about costs and kept us updated with any developments promptly.
Beyond this, the team helped with issues outside of their responsibility, such as organising meter readings on many occasions.
This was so helpful and made selling the property a lot easier.
I'd have no hesitation in recommending them.

I used this branch to purchase a flat, the sales team were absolutely brilliant, friendly, helpful and always available when I needed them, if you're looking to purchase a property I highly recommend, the only reason I didn't give this a 5 star is that the mortgage advisor was awful, avoid this part of you can there are much better options available and definitely not worth the £600 fee.

Seems like once they get your phone number they literally never stop calling. It’s been over a year since I made a simple enquiry. I’ve had dozens and dozens of phone calls since. I’ve asked several times not to be contacted any more. I’ve blocked their number and they still leave voicemails and call from alternative numbers. Please just do one, Connells.

Pressured into signing a modern day auction before I was ready to go on the market, in February agent left, finally got someone out in June to take pictures, no explanation of the process or various options discussed or offered. No internal pictures put on adverts I have to push for this. Only 1 viewing. Didn't return calls or emails. No communication whatsoever, just got the impression they were nit interested in selling my property. Tried to get me to drop my price when ut was the auction that was putting people off not the price. Tanita came to view my property and went through the renting process, their charges and what to expect.
Their management fees are more than reasonable and what she managed to get for my property was more than expected. I advised what other estate agents had priced it at and she said that would be giving it alway. She was obviously right as it was snapped up within a week!
Leigh in the office kept me in the loop with all the people booked in to view my property, the feedback etc. When the tenants put in an offer he was quick to send over the references and all other info.
Leigh has always been at the other end of the phone answering any questions I’ve had and guiding me through it all.
I will absolutely be using them again for my future rental properties.

Not happy at all with the service from this agent. Please make sure that from the first contact with them you are asking the right questions. We (me and my son) were told the property had a 999 year lease, it turned out to be 67 years. We waited patiently for 8 months with minimal contact (all one way by us). The mortgage advisor, a nice chap cost about £500 for a life time membership (beware get your own) managed to get a mortgage offer which ran out in November, turned out it was useless due to the lease term situation. I wont comment on premier property lawyers also under Connells (I would also suggest finding a local conveyencer). The thing is you expect these people to be honest and communicate the truth. When I told Jenny at Connells Paignton today that we were pulling out, she said "thats ok we can put it back on the market for more money" she also explained that the situation with the lease was almost resolved. So why was this not communicated ?...When I said that we were told in the begining that the lease was 999 years, she said "on completion" Oh dear another loop hole in estate agent communication jargon...there is more to this but I want to enjoy my day and look to the future, goodbye Connells

From before we moved into our current home to now when we are about to leave, he has been very helpful, has kept us in the loop with everything and has been easy to get hold of.

We've had a really positive lettings experience with Connells Estate Agents, in particular with our contact Leigh Godfrey who has been fantastic throughout the process. Other lettings agents we viewed with in the South Devon area seemed to be pushing for us to sign the contract before we were entirely satisfied. Leigh wasn't like that, at our first viewing he could see we weren't entirely happy and instead spent time making sure he knew exactly what sort of property we were looking for, to which he was then able to recommend a property we had previously overlooked - it turned out to be an excellent recommendation! We came to this agency in hope they would efficiently help us with a mortgage advisor and we have been given, Micheal Ashton. He has wasted our time constantly asking for documents we have sent him before. As we are also foreigners, he has mislead us and took us for granted for the language barrier and lost more than £800 pounds for no reason. They never gave us the correct guidance. The estate agents told us to pay for the searches but the mortgage was still not ready. Hence, we lost the money given to the solicitors we have put for a property. Because of lack of efficiency, we have waited almost more than a year just to buy 1 PROPERTY. Even though we have changed our minds during the process of buying a house, the time we have wasted was definitely unacceptable. I wouldn't recommend this agency to anyone to save both the time and money.

Booked in a viewing for a rental property a week prior to it happening, after not hearing from the agent again we called up the afternoon of the viewing to confirm it was still going ahead. We were told they couldn’t get hold of the current tenants for access so would have to cancel. Renting a property from Connells has been a nightmare from the start. I was not advised of birds living in the loft, despite asking. Days later I was begging for pest control as I had found droppings outside and in the loft. I thought they were mice. Turned out to be bats. Neighbours told me the property had severe issues. Nobody told me the truth at all. I’m a single mum with two kids. My youngest is autistic. I asked to be released from the tenancy after two weeks. I cleaned the property, I replaced various things that were broken. There was fleas, it was disgusting. There was constant excuses, no communication. And no apology. I have now issued a formal complaint and the landlord has decided to keep my rent for the rest of the month because he thinks he’s done me a favour by releasing me early. I didn’t even get the inventory and schedule of condition until 2 weeks after I moved in. My first experience of renting and I felt like I was in a home from hell. I don’t know how human beings can do this. But I’m now homeless because I chose to keep my kids away from the bats and beasts living in the loft. And because I made a choice as a mother I’ve been punished. I don’t know what else to say except avoid Connells Paignton and avoid valentine house.

Had to put one star or would not let me post, but no stars for this agent. Absolutely shocking management of my Son's property. After apparently not even being aware that the first tenants had left until my son queried the rent was not paid, (though they had received notice and keys - we were eventually advised by the tenant who was concerned she had heard nothing!) they waived fees for the 2nd tenant and promised it would not happen again. Also promised the dedicated team member their website claims to offer. Deciding to give them a 2nd chance, my son then discovered his 2nd tenants had left during lockdown . He was not properly advised as he should have been by his dedicated team member, but instead had a small comment on his accounts e mail. (The dedicated team member actually no longer existed within Connells and had not handed over to anyone else) Connells further claimed to have called and left messages a number of times on a telephone number that no longer existed after details had been updated. (not sure how they managed to leave messages on a no longer listed number!!) Despite this they still wanted to charge a £160 fee to do a final property check, stating that nothing could be claimed on the deposit unless they did this. The manager we spoke to also claimed that Connells cannot offer a dedicated team member as things are dealt with by a call centre. (best change that on the website then!) We therefore arranged and paid for disposal of items left. We were unable to rent due to lockdown though this could have been avoided with correct communication. Even after admitting shoddy management, no fees were returned for this particular month of no management, no apology sent, no customer aftercare service. Use this company at your peril!!!

Sarah got me a good offer a few months later to another investor who's going to keep my tenant in there Literally couldn't be happier. I used Paignton Connells recently to rent out two properties. I was very impressed with Nicole and Tanitas' service. They always answered the phone cheerfully and dealt with tenant problems that I had raised, enthusiastically and efficiently. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They rented both properties very quickly and I would definitely use their services again.

The property lettings support centre is absolutely excellent particularly Morgan Trueman who is always most helpful and tries hard to make sure my queries are answered in a timely fashion. I am unable to fault anything he has done to date and would recommend the services provided. I cannot praise the service we received enough. Due to having a very short time scale between exchanging contracts on the sale of our B&B, and completion date, we had VERY little time to find anywhere - especially as we have two dogs as well. Disgusting branch of this company. Once they had their money they did absolutely nothing to assist with some issues I had. When it came to a renewal they sent a text just using my address, no name, as correspondence. Arrogant and unprofessional as they come. I would not recommend they are used for anything.

Constant phone calls from the sales reps (so now blocked their number)and they find it hard to take no for an answer. We all understand they have targets but pressure sales isn't the way to go it just pushes buyers away.

Very pushy and did not seem to give a professional or accurate valuation. Apparently the bigger firms get paid for signing you up which is why they are pushy and call relentlessly but don't really care if your house sells. Avoid if possible.

this estate agent left me totally confused. Luke, the advisor, will not stop talking long enough to hear what you are saying and when you speak to him about what he had said afterward he denies it. Saying it is all recorded and I have got it wrong. it is not recorded as I went into the shop to hear it I was so annoyed. He said our offer had not been accepted, rang and said it had been accepted but he couldn't remember how much we had offered, then denied everything and said the house had sold. After speaking to the manager Jenny it seems that there is a general lack of concern regarding behaviour and manner towards potential buyers. According to Jenny, Luke is an ex double glazing sales man!. I would expect more professionalism from a company as large as Connells

Not even worth the one star absolute worst estate agents ever!!!! In 7 weeks all Ben did was mess us about knowing that we had no where to live with our 3 babies 2 seriously ill as well. They were quick enough on taking the £300 holding fee for a property but guess what that fell through in fact all 4 houses did? U tell me! I would not use Connells if I was paid!!! Ben NEVER returned any calls or messages always lying ???? absolute joke his excuse was there is nothing new on the market well funny how we got our self sorted! Oh yeah and we r still waiting for the refund!!!! Do not use This apauling company all they do is take ur money and mess u about everyone I've spoke to have said the same !!!!!!! Ben u really r a joke mate!!!!

We made the mistake of inquiring about a property Connells Paignton had for sale and now we get constant phone calls trying to get us various products despite being told we are not interested the calls keep coming. Save yourself the aggravation and don't bother giving your details. After the hard sell they try and give we wouldn't use Connells if they were the last estate agent on the planet.

Rented our property from Barbetts for 14 months, connells come along promise landlord they will reduce management fee so they get the business, but after promises that they are not putting rent up, I get a letter straight after the 1st months rent gets paid to say we putting rent up by an extra £175 per month, so that's how they get the extra money to cover the loss of management fee, they lie when confronted and claim it's landlords decision, but email from head office claims it's the letting manager in Paignton idea, I asked manager and he refused to acknowledge this claim he could answer the question, seriously don't trust them the screw the tenants to help the landlord while furnishing their pockets, so we have sent to rent tribunal which could mess the management side up if rent is reduced and won't help landlord, avoid them at all costs over inflated rents
