I didn't end up buying a property with Douglas Allen (had a couple of offers in that didn't quite make it), but I did find them the best of all the estate agents I dealt with during my property search.
Gergana in particular was very proactive in trying to find me the right place, and was a pleasure to work with. If I was to sell, or search for another property, she'd be the person i'd contact first.

Updating this review after we close a sale with Douglass Allen. If I could give it more stars I would. We went through a fairly complicated sale, but Tania and the team worked with us throughout the process and were great help. Highly recomend this agency.

Comb through paperwork and avoid sales pressure techniques employed at this branch;
- You do not gain much advantage by buying and selling with the same agent - shop around and be patient with initial delays caused. Any promises that they can speed things through will evapourate as soon as your contract is signed
- Avoid the exclusivity clauses that tie you to them for a period of time. They will tell you that it is standard accross the market. It's a lie
- Watch the fees like a hawk. Comb through your contract. Most importantly do not fall for the high pressure techniques used where they pressure you to sign contracts there and then. Ignore the nasty "everybody else signs straight away" techniques. Just because DA are a big organisation, the Del Boy tactics are strong ant there is no professional integrity in their sales team.
Very disappointed. Came across people who seemed to work hard but the dishonest players in their midst have made me doubt the ethos of the whole company

We have mostly been dealing with Anita, Diana Karen and Michael, all of which have been very nice, patient, very pro active and hard working! When booking viewings or meetings, Anita, Michael and Diana always made sure everything was happening to our preference and comfort.
The way Douglas Allen work is quite amazing and exactly how Diana advertised it when we first met with her. Everyone in the comapgny that we have spoken with is always very well informed, kind and helpful. We have access to an account that shows all the information about the sale of the property, feedback from potential buyers, booked viewings, and because we are buying with a sister compagny we also have all the information and updates about the house we want to buy as well...

This will sound like a fake review but it isn't - we had a choice between three different estate agents in Chingford and went with DA based on a recommendation from a friend. Our agent Michael was really positive and we really liked the way he acted too, so it was a pretty easy choice
The photos that were taken of our flat were amazing and DA already had a viewing lined up before the flat went on the market - that viewing didn't result in anything but the very next one, on the day the flat went up, resulted in an offer which we eventually accepted. We were on the market for 24 hours.
After the offer was accepted, Natasha took over and guided the sale through and was relentless in chasing solicitors and keeping us informed of what was going on, ensuring it went as smooth as possible. 100% recommend.

I am in process of selling and have chosen Douglas Allen to me my Estate agent after checking out the ethos and how the directors want the company to operate. When I visited the branch, it was Sean Corrigan I met and he came to carry out the valuation. Following his visit, we had a very thorough discussion covering what the market trends are, price range including how our property would be marketed across all channels, as well as the type of likely purchasers. Sean definitely fits in with ethos I look for and he will walk the talk "inception to completion" for his clients. He adopts a ‘holistic’ approach one that is not territorial but takes account of the client needs even if it cannot be met by him.

This is a company that have been in the sales and lettings business for a long time and have a good reputation which will draw a lot of people to them. It's both the Zoopla and Rightmove websites that will generate leads and not the estate agents. I would suggest going for a local estate agents whose fees are less than well established agents. Also, professional photography and floor plans are key for generating interest on the property as a lot of potential buyers who are working full time do not have time to view a property unless they have already seen photography and floor plan of the property so they know what to expect.

You must not discriminate, or threaten to discriminate, against a buyer because that person declines to accept that you will (directly or indirectly) provide related services to them.

We had an amazing experience with Maria and Ben from Douglas Allen Walthamstow. We did ask for valuations from a range of estate agents but found Maria to be personable and understanding. Maria was transparent and open and communicated with us through the whole process. Maria showed real empathy for what we wanted to achieve and was not a pushy sales person. Ben was incredible as a sales man, he took out time from his busy schedule to get to know me and my husband before showing prospective buyers and because of his extensive knowledge about Walthamstow and the house, quickly put buyers at ease. My partner and I sold our flat in Walthamstow in early 2020, a very tough time due to Covid-19. Douglas Allen Walthamstow were excellent and kept us informed throughout this difficult time. Maria telephoned me regularly with updates of the sale, and also dropped my keys off so that I could sort things to help the sale move faster. Ammer and Ben were brilliant too and organised many viewings to the flat. Maria, Ammer and Ben were all very polite, professional and very approachable. Excellent experience with Walthamstow branch. I made an unplanned phone call one afternoon when I was scrolling Rightmove desperately. I spoke to Ben who gave me plenty of time to explain my situation - an unexpected offer on our flat, and need to move quickly and a baby imminent. Ben made a comprehensive plan to show us a range of houses in one afternoon to fit with our scoping of the area and our childcare needs, and tight timescale. He had a good knowledge of the area and got a sense of what would suit us. It worked perfectly and we found our new home on our first outing with him. From then on Ben and his colleague Maria handled our purchase smoothly and we had great confidence in the process. It was obvious that the seller trusted Douglas Allen, had regular contact with them, and the purchase was extremely smooth because of that. We plan to never move again(!!) but if we had to I would definitely approach Douglas Allen in Walthamstow to be our agent. Thanks again!

Having bought and sold 3 houses and found the process extremely stressful and hard work, I was very much dreading having to sell my father's property through probate. With every sale/purchase, the estate agents were very much the weak link. I appreciate people can be busy but things like not calling you back when promised with significant information and giving us what we later found out to be completely false information, just displays a complete lack of respect for a customer. So much to my utter suprise Ammer Haroon was the totally different to any other agent I've dealt with. He was extremely proactive and efficient, polite and friendly. If you end up having anywhere near the service I recieved I'm sure you'd be very happy!

Had an excellent experience with Maria Ticehurst and the Walthamstow branch. We had some very specific requirements about what type of property we wanted and were only interested in certain roads around Upper Walthamstow.
Whilst some Estate Agents ignored what we were looking for and would send us all sorts of unsuitable properties. Maria and her team diligently sifted through what was available and only recommended properties when they matched our brief. They were a pleasure to deal with.

I have been so impressed by the Douglas Allen team at Walthamstow during the purchase of our new home. Laura in particular has been really efficient and helpful at arranging access for us into the property and at returning my calls and emails. At every stage, calls and emails have been returned quickly, with helpful responses. Laura even called me after our offer was accepted to congratulate me, which has never happened before with any of our previous sales. I've really felt like I've had my hands held through this entire process, instead of it being something I've had to chase in order to get anything done. which has been my experience with other real estate agents in the past. After frankly dreadful service from another agent I dumped them and decided to market my house with Douglas Allen. And I'm so glad I did. they were professional, friendly and effective straight from the off. My house went online with them on a Monday morning and that afternoon they phoned to book two viewings in the next couple of days. All in all, I had well over ten viewings in the first two weeks, resulting in three offers. Unfortunately, the first offer I accepted fell through and the team were on the case immediately. Long story short, they contacted the other two offers and we negotiated a sale with one of them. I am now settling into my new home in Dorset and very grateful for their help in my achieving my dream. They were consistently prompt and clear in communication, helpful, friendly and the viewings were well selected. The whole team were great but I should mention Maria for leading the process with skill and enthusiasm and Ben, who helped out effectively in a couple of sticky moments. They really showed me how a good estate agency should work!
